duh.gif I'm asking myself, why am I very interested with them??? Well, because korean artists are really good in acting...... thumbsup.gif and the way they portray their characters, hmmm, it's just really unexplainable. And with the films... it really unique and really touching... dance.gif because here in the Philippines some of the film's endings are easy to predict. I don't know I just admire and love watching them!! infatuated.gif

Because you are always guranteed to find at least one hot girl, one handsome guy, and a cliched, but yet watchable show. Koreans are so damn pretty, why? Why can't I be a pretty Korean, too?! LOL. But the reason we love Koran dramas are quite simple, the attractive leads, the evil and hated antagonists, the crazy love rectangles, the jealous exes, the deadly disease that the heroine develops and that eventually kills her, the strong chemistry between the characters, people getting hit by cars, guys going crazy for the nice and sweet heroine, girls and guys crying their eyes out in every episode and of course the sweet meaning suicides that lead to eternal bliss. This is why I love Korean dramas!

It simply says what TRUE LOVE is.. need I say more?
kimchispice27
well i love them merely because of their very interesting movies and dramas!

i started loving koreans after the drama "autumn in my heart" was shown here in the philippines.

so good that korean movie industry aren't afraid to release dramas that have different twists. they are't scared that people might not accept such tragic dramas. that's what i love about them. they are willing to jump onto a different kind of story thet could really pull the interest of viewers!

and every drama that they make, all have different plot, yet the same concept of love. and since i'm a girl and i'm very interested with love stories, korean dramas suit me so well!

as for the movies, i'm so attracted with their horror movies because they don't only make it for such reason to scare people or something, but they make a very good stroy out of it that you could only understand if you watch from the start up to the end. biggrin.gif infatuated.gif innocent.gif laugh.gif yeah.gif

Korean dramas are actually quite predictable and very cliche. BUT... I LOVE them! They just seem different from other drama series. I actually grew up watching TVB (HK series), but made a complete 360 degrees to Kdramas when I was 14. I remember my first Kdrama was Hotelier. I was so attracted to Bae Yong Jun's character! Then as I watched more and more, I got more and more addicted! And like every addiction, this one stays for life!
Sure, the plots are overused. It's always a love triangle, an evil girl, cancer, incestous relationships etc. etc. But I never get bored of them! The thing I love most about Kdramas is, the love between the two main characters is so strong that it can withstand every single obstacle thrown at it. It just gives me hope that maybe there is true love out there after all... Unlike TVB series in which feelings are so changeable and loyalties are so easily broken, in Kdramas, they will love each other till the end and even after death! And even though deaths occur rather frequently... I'm a girl who loves to cry. happy.gif
Michelle.
I like Korean dramas because they are so touching and sad...
And that's like the type of dramas Korea go for!
They like all the sad love stuff...
I reli like that... Korean actors/actresses put a lot of effort and feeling into their acting.
It's what makes the drama worthwhile to watch.
I love the sad Korean dramas especially because they are so touching it just makes me wanna cry...
Plus the Korean actors/actresses are all very nice looking... you wouldn't get tired of looking at them!
K-dramas rock! =]
katherinekwokhk
thats a good question actually lol...well i love all those korean stuff because its soo interesting and some korean guys r hot!!! also korean series r so funny and sad and i love sad series/movies lol...
aznbabii
i htink its because... no matter wat... they alwasyahve a really cute guy that takes your heart away, and you ahve no way but to continue watching them smile.gif ...and cuz i personally go bored of my tw dramas...and k dramas were so much cuter once i started:)

Well, in comparison to American tv shows, I prefer Korean dramas as my dose for guilty pleasures. I love the stories, as cliched as they are. They're just fun and they're not filled with sex, drugs, drinking every other minute (well not as much sex and drugs). I feel like they're so nice and innocent...seriously.

And I have a thing for AZNs...so I'm good with Korean guys tongue.gif.
Korean dramas are ultimate for the happy love conquers all stories.

You raised a really good point! Most of the Korean series that I've seen did not exhibit such dirty stuff. This is one reason why I like whatever "Korean".. Ultimately, it is because of one actress that I really admire - Kim Tae-hee..

I've mentioned this several times in different threads, but, it is true. sweat.gif
cynical
maybe it would be because...

1. GOOD STORYLINES

either drama (Winter Sonata, with BYJ as the half-brother of PYH and the long lost love of CJW who we all know who died not knowing that he is really Jun Sang.) or comedy (Sweet Love... the good-looking younger brother falling in love with the plain Young Hee even when she was still ugly, and the older guy really falling for her too late...) they are really good and interesting
twists in their stories.

2. The ACTING

almost all korean performers act naturally... you could really believe the feeling that they excude on every take...

3. THE ACTORS/ACTRESSES infatuated.gif

guys, they are really good-looking....

4. THE CASTING infatuated.gif

good pick of actors and actresses to portray. (Like choosing Shinbi who could really be the daughter of Kim Jae Won and Eugene/ Love that child) and also the producers knows who to pair up with, that the chemistry between the leads make us feel that they are really falling for each other for real (Lee Dong Geon and Han Ji Hye) or wishing that they could end up with each other someday (Kim Sun-Ah and Hyun Bin)

5. THE FILMOGRAPHY

am i right??? what i mean is the directors eye on each take, a classic example is the movie IL MARE.. this movie almost has no dialogues but the feeling that the film exudes makes us feel something, it's like the movie talks to us in a way that makes us feel that he is sharing a secret by whispering in our ears... in this case the our eyes.. i hope you know what i mean...

6. THE NG's/INTERVIEW CLIPS/MTV

Admit it, we all love watching the behind the scenes footage of every dramas, i for one is guilty of it...

7. THE OSTs infatuated.gif

hahahaha.... don't forget the songs that we all fall in love with. I almost have all the osts of the dramas/movies that i have... love their songs..
even though i couldnt understand the lyrics....
but what the heck... it sounds good to the ears...

8. THEIR TRADITIONS AND BELIEFS

I don't know, Korean have a way of hypnotizing you and make you do all the things they want you to do..
if you watch a drama, they will twist your heart out until you cry and cry even when you're not watching anymore,
they have a way of making you walk on the clouds and being one with the leads like you are the one falling in love with them, and making you laugh till your insides burst out....
and scaring you till you wish you were dead just to stop the fear..
best of all, they always make you feel that life is beautiful and to see the importance of every little things that happens in your life. lmao.gif yeah.gif

And another thing... sometimes they make you think about your life... clapping.gif

(at last, i took it out of my system....hehehehehe clapping.gif )

WHat do you think???

Filmography is something like a list that includes all the movies/shows an actor/actress has participated in. For example, Kim Tae-hee's filmography includes Love Story in Harvard, Stairway to Heaven, All About Eve, etc. So, in other words, filmography is "a comprehensive list of movies in a particular category.." (American Heritage Dictionary).. laugh.gif

Anyway, you do have a point. In fact, it was very well said, cynical! It's just that the word filmography is misused. sweat.gif

I am really very happy to come across this thread. A thread intended for k-dramas fanatics like me. Count me in. I've been watching k-series for almost three years and until now it seems that I haven't got enough of it. I just love their dramas, it has passion and most of the lead performers are good actors/actresses, whether young or not so young anymore. They know how to get lead characters that blend so well in the small screen. I guess, I will never get tired of watching k-dramas so long as they continue producing them.
AJA!

Did I already mention I love Korean series because Love Story in Harvard is Korean-made? Well, if not, then this is another reason why I love Korean series! sweat.gif

hehehe... thanks for correcting me, *hugs*
i couldnt find the right word to say it...

i hope fellow forumers wouldnt be confused with what i wanted to say about it..

because everyone wants to get the hot guy that they can't in real life, everyone wants to have the perfect romance with a hot guy!
dusvaa
i like becoz they show true love, actors are good and handsome, actresses are pretty, interesting stories. some dramas are very funny. they can show what people want!
charmaine412
I love Korean dramas because of the story, how conflicts were made, also how attractive and lovely actors and actresses are.

SimpleMe
Because of the couple combination. Sample Actress A has a project together with actor A and that project makes a big hit, in the next project due to success performance of actress A she will be the lead girl in the next project but with a different actor nor actor a will be on it but not as the partner of actress A. Hope you understand my point. That theres no repeation of couples in a movie like Actress A and Actor A has a project and at the next project still Actress A and Actor B is on it and again in the third project. So with that the viewers will have a boredom feeling.

I love dramas/movies because of..
..the storyline.:]*especially if it`s unique and catchy*
..the artist.:]*it depends if I really like/idolize the artist*
..the OST.:]*especially if the song sounds good and it relates to the drama*
sj_19
I love korean dramas coz they are unique and very realistic..

the actors and actress really can act good! Korean dramas are the best ever
ST@R
Korean Dramas:
I don't really know why I like them so much. Maybe it's the great cast and the actors/actresses acting that makes the dramas so realistic and able to watch. The Soundtracks are really great too which should bring me to the artists..

Korean Artists:
They are very dedicated to their fans and, plus, Korean music is awesome! The genre is always up to date with American music too but, or course, Korean music has it's own ways on making present music into their own style.
