ToHoShinKi – Over The Years

Their first Japanese album [Heart, Mind and Soul] received good response at the Japanese album charts. With regards to maintaining the Japanese market within this year, they’re feeling really happy!


Q: This time round, the album includes past singles as well as new songs. Would you care to introduce [HUG]?


YunHo: When we first heard of news that we’re going to do a Japanese album, we’ve wanted to sing this song.

JaeJoong: This is the song when we firs debuted, so we’re familiar with it and we even sang it in four different languages. The Japanese version wasn’t too difficult. The most difficult version was the Mandarin one, whereby we had some problems with the pronounciations. So we had a tough time singing it.

YunHo: This is the song when we first started out, so we’re really happy that we can sing it in Japanese for everyone to hear it.



Q: Then what about the title song in your album, [Heart, Mind and Soul]?


YunHo: This song was written by Skoop on Somebody.

ChangMin: The rhythm of the chorus is very soft and melodic. It grows on you!


Q: What about [One]? ChangMin once said that he can listen to it more than a hundred times and he still won’t get sick of it!

ChangMin: That’s right! I can never get sick of this song. It can heal any bad moods.

JaeJoong: The song itself is very beautiful and it’s my favourite in the Korean album. I’m glad that we got a chance to sing it here in the Japanese album.

JunSu: I like this song too. The beauty of this song lies in the chorus.

YunHo: It’s a highly-recommended song. The lyrics are poetic and it depicts the world beautifully.


Q: What was the first response after listening to the final product?

JunSu: We listened to it in the car and everyone was nervous.

YooCheon: In the beginning there was ‘anticipation’. So we hope that fans will harbour ‘anticipation;.


Q: In your album, there’s a “Heart” in it. So we’d like to know the transformations in your ‘Heart”. Before choosing the path as singers, what were your dreams and ambitions prior to this?

JunSu: A sportsman, especially a footballer. I like to play baseball and I played a lot during elementary school. My dream is to be a professional sportsman.

JaeJoong: I love supermarkets. I want to buy out all the desserts and biscuits. I wanted to be the boss of a supermarket.

YunHo: I want to be a detective, police inspector or a prosecutor. I think I’m influenced by TV dramas.

JunSu: I’m also easily influenced by cartoons. Soccer cartoons. After watching, it makes me want to be a footballer.

YooCheon: During my elementary school, I wanted to be a basketball player. Then when I was in high school, I wanted to be a racing driver. Because I was in America at the time, I got my driving license pretty early and I really went to take up lessons to be one!

ChangMin: I always think that being a scientist was cool. So it’s my dream to wear a white coat, with a pair of glasses and looking at a microscope. Isn’t that cool?


Q: Then do you all remember what you all felt when you all were picked by the agency to be in this group at that time?

JunSu: Of course I remembered. I was very happy and shocked at that time.

ChangMin: I remembered informing my parents immediately after that. I actually thought I wouldn’t be picked. I was pretty shocked.

YooCheon: I was pretty surprised too. But at that time I was pretty confident. I told my friends about it after that.

JaeJoong: At that time I didn’t have any mobile phone, so my friends who were with me at that time knew about the news first.

JunSu: JaeJoong was picked out from 8,000 applicants!

JaeJoong: At first I thought that once I got picked out, an album was going to be in the works. But when I went in as a trainee, I realized that there were more than a hundred people before me that got picked out as well. I instantly felt disheartened at that time.

JunSu: At that time, we had different classes everyday, catering to the individual characteristics of each person.

YunHo: The training was quite tough at that time. Me and JunSu used to head to the sauna after training to relax.

JaeJoong: After training, I would always go out with ChangMin to have BBQ chicken. I also went to the KTV ot the internet café with YooCheon.

YunHo: At that time, we were all very young and everything was new to us. And we thought that we will be releasing an album very soon. That was a wrong way of thinking.

1) the History of Japan DVD Vol 1 is… like the title says… it’s a history or rather summary of TVXQ! Since they first debuted in Japan… from their Meishi (name card) exchange to their Stay With Me Tonight MV making to their TV stations interview to basically every programme they have been on… a very interesting vid!

2) wow! All the perf.?? Eer… can’t name all but concerts so far was at Japan (Heart, Mind & Soul: 1st Live Concert / A-Nation), Malaysia (Rising Sun: 1st Live Concert) and later in Thailand (Be My Chocolate: 1st Live Concert)

3) and that pix… it’s the boys at Bora Bora for HiYaYa MV Making!!! They were at the airport or hotel…not sure but yeah…they were at Bora Bora…confirmed! To excited to be in sucha exotic place I guess… ^^

to begin with... we met in the morning.. at the bus station... we're planning to go up the hill ... to a oh-so-famous-Genting-Highland (nooo!!! we're not goin to hike or sumthing... tat place we're goin is a famous tourist spot... a higher ground..cooler place with so-called-fantastic theme parks, hotels, gardens, Malaysia's biggest casiono etc... ) so there we are purchasing the bus ticket up the hill!!! (did i mention what my mom did?? well...she sent me to the bus station... and she stalked me!! for godness sake... she was stoppin her car at the side... me not realizing and she only told me when i got home tat day... her reason was she wanted to see the guy that i'm meeting... or rather...drooling over... gosh...a stalker for mom!!!)

as the description of that place we went.. nothing suits us except that T.HE.A.M.PA.R.K so there we are... i was so excited upon entering... (i loves those rides... ) but gosh... i got a scared-of-height-YooChun-look-alike for a partner in the themepark!!! yeah... he's afraid of height so no dangerously high rides! *duh* i was practically ... but he's kind enough to go on one freakin roller coaster ride with me... and that's it! uh... know wat... we were practically holding our hands and me wrapping my arms around his... gosh... i love those rides but it's still freakin scary! and oh... i didn't do it on purpose... it juz felt ... rite... *wink*

then the rest of our days we spend on those really mild mild rides.. as boring as it would sounds... it's not indeed... no scary rides but enough of adrenaline rush... y so?? here ya go....

1) [ADRENALINE RUSH 1] we were on the boat ride...where those cheezy couple always goes for... (hey! that's his suggestion okay...)... we practically gliding through the waters... talking about random subjects... laughing like nuts... and of cuz... taking pic...yeah...we were taking pixxie of ourselves ... him holding the cams and i snuggle close and lean on his shoulder... *fits perfectly well*

there was one point where i thought he's gonna kiss me.. *uh...i sound cheezy* *I’m thinking too much I guess* but hey! the situation is like ... he was holding the cam..i snuggle close... we were both lookin at the cam's lense when he suddenly turn around facing me...lean in real close... gosh...i felt the warmth and turn to face him too... *inches apart* *eyes locked* *i blush...darn...* *backed away a lil* *he blush* *both turn to face the cam again...* i really dunno what happened but yeah... that was close... *uh...i sound cheap*

2) [ADRENALINE RUSH 2] then we went for the oh-so-childish vintage car ride around the park... *gosh... i sound so lame* but yet...this is another romantic-claimed-by-me scene... we were controlling the speed of that antique (yeah... it's old...) and we're suppose to tail another two cars in front.. but he'll stop every now and then... reason being doen't want to be together with the rest... and we too...did the same thing... taking pixxie... me leaning close, him resting his head on mind...and CLICK.. the perfect pix taken...

3) [ADRENALINE RUSH 3] while waiting for our turn in the line for yet another lame rides... we had cotton candy!!! (that is a MUST for me in the theme park...without it... incomplete!!!...) and yeah... we acted so silly...taking pixxie here and there...posing with tat cotton candy on hand... what's the rush?? well... although we did lean in close while takin pixxie but never more than that...but there's this time...when we are about to snap yet another 'master piece'.. (well, the situation is like this... he was on my right...holding the cam on his left hand..which makes the cam to be right in the middle between us..it's very hard to take nice pixxie wit hand in the middle and i dunno y he did't use the other hand...but...) he raised his arm which is holding that cam...(and for some reason i know what he's doin...*wink wink* ) embrace me with tat said arm... tug me close... and i naturally close the gap... very responsive eh?? *giggles* gosh... i was leaning on his chest!! *almost faint* *melt* and him.. bent down... (i'm 5'7" but yet...seems so darn short to him... *duh*) keeping his face close to mine... almost touching if you wan me say... and CLICK! i almost wish tat moment wouldn't pass.. *corny*...ggahhh.... the whole paragraph jus to visualise my photo-taking moment *rolls the eyes* and don't even know if you gals actually understand!

uh... that's to name few so-called MO.M.E.NTS i would like to treasure...after all those...we went to meet up with an old friend who so happen to be working there... (gosh.. he thought we're goin out... as in really goin out.. smirking the whole time and teasing us every now and then..well.. we didn't care less... who cares anyway?? )

and then took the bus down the hill... our date literally ends as we reach the station..yeah...he didn't send me home cuz he's rushing to a basketball tournament... (oh...i didn't mention this... we're actually not suppose to go to the theme park cuz it took us a full hour to and another full hour back to the bus station... and another full hour for him to travel back to his house ... he has an important game tat evening... but since i'm really eager and excited to go... he gave in.. nope...i didn't throw tantrum or bat my lashes... he juz thought it's okay...rushing a bit... )

alright ... all that i've wrote proved that this is indeed a so-called successful date..but i'm feeling drained and literally drowned... if you gals remember... i was only thinkin of goin out with him for movie and to have a simple dinner...without hoping for much but after tat day... with all the snuggling and whatnot... i am begining to hope..to wish... yeah..getting greedy you could say... and that's exactly what's making me sick! i'm not suppose to wish for anything... since he's gonna goes back to Japan ... and stays there for good...
