Carina Lau is a longtime actress from TVB. She is most recently starring in Wong Ka Wei's new movie "2046" (which is basically a sequel to In the Mood for Love). It's interesting b/c her longtime b/f, Tony Leung Ka Wei, is also in it. (They were in Internal Affairs II but had no scenes together b/c of the different timelines.) Actually, i just read that their on-again off-again 10-plus years relationship is on the rocks. They were in Shanghai promoting the new movie but were seen to be checking into different hotels. Anyone hear anything about that?

One of her first series (or was it the first?) was Police Cadet with Tony Leung. At that time Tony wasn't her bf yet and had another gf.

i don't know whether she got raped not. this scandal of her was a BIG NEWS in HKG then.. it was already a few years back then..

it all happened when 1 entertainment magazine in HKG published on coverpage, pics of her half naked.. though the face could not be seened clearly, but if i am right.. the inside story hinted that those pics were her... according to the news, those pics were taken years back before it was been published on magazine ( i wonder how the reporter got those pics).. it was believed that she was actually been "kidnapped"... then she was been "taken away" by a few men and has disappeared for a few hours.. no one knew her whereabout... after that few hours of disappearance, she reappeared again and when reporters asked her about it, she denied of such thing happened... i believe those pics were taken then.

but she was brave enough... with the support of all the HKG industry's artistes... they all stood up for her and she had also stood up and face the public admitting that the lady in those pics is her...

This rape is issue is all over the news long time ago. Even those known actress and actor (including Tony Leung) make demonstration for her sake....

I absolutely love Carina! I think she is a great actress. I really enjoyed her performance in the TVB series Looking Back in Anger. I think it was one of her finest performance - she was so fantastic to watch as she played the spoilt rich girl and who was best friend with a man who was out of her social realm. Yep, they sure do not make fine series like that anymore.

I especially enjoyed her in a Taiwanese series (I think or Singapore?) called Love is Payable with Steven Ma. (The taiwanese star not the HK one) It is still one of my favorite series b/c of the dialoque. It was beautifullly written if you enjoy romance/drama. I am always on the look out to purchase it in DVD but can never find it. And I would love to know who sang the end of the episode song as I'd love to get a copy of it. So if anyone knows please let me know.

Unfortunately, Carina and Tony r still not married yet. they r still in the status of "boyfriend and girlfriend". i don't think they will get married anytime soon.

Hong Kong actress Carina Lau and mainland actor Hu Jun will act as a couple for the first time in the film "Eggplant" now shooting in Chongqing.

Many other stars from the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan will also co-star in it.

Carina and Hu Jun also have a child named "Xiao Bai" in the film.

I believe this happened many years ago. It was always a rumor until those kidnappers supplied the photos to a magazine. It was an awful thing that the magzine would even publish it. I couple years ago many stars and well known people came out at a press conference and supported Carina and also disagree strongly of what that particular magazine did. I remembered Anita Mui strongly stood out and stand not to buy that magazine and read the article. They were very degrading. Jacky Chan was also at the event.

The kidnappers sold the pics to a magazine and they actually printed them?!?!?!?!?!? That is soooo horrible.. it's disgusting what some people would do to sell more magazines..
