to starrystar: me too. i became a big fan of Cat after watching her in the legendary ranger. since then even though her acting in some of the later series didn't impress me as much as it did in LR, i still like her because of her kind look and pretty smile. i don't think Cat has any picture taken with Leo besides the one she in white gown and Leo in black tuxedo. So sad! i thought they would be couple in real life since they had such chemistry in that movie. but it turned out Leo and Michelle ....

And you know what, I also have the same thought too. I was so into their character that I hoped they'd be together in real life. But seems like they have other plans in their life . I have to agree with you, after the series TLR, her acting doesn't impress me that much. Maybe it's because of the story, script..who knows...I even saw her in malaysian chinese series but the series doesn't appeal to me.

I guess that was her most recognized TVB series. Recently she appeared in My Bratty Princess with Alex To and Jang Nara as the princess' teacher. hey starrystar, to be honest, I really don't know if people still like her now. but if my memory serves me right, she was chosen among the top 10 beauties who had great influence to the people in 2002 or something like that. up until now, I have not seen any negative articles about her. maybe there were some out there when she got pregnant mysteriously. it is probably true that Cat got to know Flora thru Ada. it is true that Flora is more famous than Cat, even Ada who is Cat's best friend is more famous than her. but who cares, as long as to me Cat is the best then other bad rumors or critiques are just trash to me.

That is so true.....the new actresses/actors doesn't attract me that much..like you said 'just walking dolls with no talent'......unlike the 80's & 90's actors/ actresses.........they have that kind of charisma that makes you stuck on them for a long, long time....that's why I don't really questioned myself in buying 80's & 90's TVB series because they're every single cent.....

I have seen Catherine years & years ago here in Sydney. She came with a whole bunch of ppl including Max, Allen Tam & his soccer group. I can't rem which year.

lol.. no i did not get her autograph.. sadly.. because i didn't know who she was :[ we had lunch with her too along with the elderly lady in zhen de lian ai le. and when catherine and the women conversed on stage, catherine was asked if she was seeing anybody at the moment and she laughed and said yes.. but she didnt reveal who it was. she says that she is a full believer now and puts her trust in god. we also prayed together. and then it was lunch time i went to the morning premiere, if you will, of the gospel movie "zhen de lian ai le". there was also a night premiere, but only my mom attended to that one

as i mentioned above, they talked about ada choi, (who, i believe, is her best/ close friend as mentioned above) and how ada is a believer and accepts the lord as her savior.. they talked about the charity work she contributes and stuff like that

I'm not sure either. In order to do well in any industry especially in the entertainment circle, you have to project out a certain image and conform to the expectations and directions of the elders. Elders are those who hold the key to promotions, great projects, and power to stars' careers. Judging from Catherine's decisions and such, Catherine is just a simple person, with her own personality and individuality that may have clashed with the elders thus no promotions, no career advancements.

Who said this ET industry was full of opportunities? You only receive an opportunity if you're willing to follow orders and satisfy plus make a lot of income for the elders. It really doesn't matter how popular you are, if the elders freeze you, fans will soon forget you and move onto a new idol. So that's why there are people trying to please their managers to elders and kiss butt all the time. They need promotions. If the elders aren't on your side, soon, no one will. It's a sad and unfair game but it's life.

Well, all I can say in Cat's case is, at least she didn't have to really do things she didn't want to. The more popular you are, the more restrictions and rules you have to follow, the more people you have to keep on pleasing. At least Cat is living a normal life and seems to be pretty happy about it too.

ahjoja, i really did not know it's that complicated. i thought that all you need to become famous are look, personality and luck. maybe i need to rethink about it now. i agree that ET industry is not as smooth and sound as it looks. i also know that sacrifice needed for your popularity. but i thought that happened in the old age and it already got extinct. according on what you said, so it is still happening now? i couldn't believe it. anyways, i guess Cat is one lucky person then. at least she didn't need to sacrifice her happiness for popularity. but i still wanted her to be more famous and popular though. if one day she quit acting and decided to be a stay-at-home mom, i would be really sad because i have no one to look up too any more

Oh, I have no problem with Cat "being herself" with her own personality and individuality. In fact, I would rather Cat just be an ordinary artiste than a famed one who needs to run around kissing up to elders. That is not to say all famed artistes kiss up to elders though - I'm just going with ahjoja's example.

But of course, to me Cat is never an ordinary artiste. She is extraordinary and I like her simplicity and down-to-earth style. That's my Cat right there!
