It’s been 3 weeks already since Tae Yang’s solo album came out, but we only carried out TV broadcasting twice (translator’s note: I translated this line literally, but it basically means Tae Yang only made a TV appearance, performing songs from his new solo album, twice)

The person who is most worried and think it unfortunate in regards to Tae Yang’s lack of TV performances is in reality, YG, but the current situation is the fans completely branded the company as a company who can’t pr its artists~ so, we’re receiving both reproach and complaint (translator’s note: the word used here can also be translated as bullying) (there’s really no other place plea our situation to T T)

Of course, it’s true that YG can’t pr that well, but ^^ it seems that the reason Tae Yang’s publicity seemed even less was that while it’s a traditional practice for the majority of the record companies to make a CD for submission to the broadcasting companies a week before the album release (till you receive the broadcasting companies’ judging based on the media content, it takes about a week of time (translator’s note: think of it as a sort of censorship process; they judge to see if the content needs parental advisory or not, etc.)), it’s common to have album contents leak out before the release of a new album nowadays, so in Tae Yang’s solo album’s case, in order to prevent the leak, we delayed the submission of the judging CD till after the release of the album. This decision was based on the love for Tae Yang’s music, but it created a cause for the small misunderstanding.

(Translator’s summary: Mr. YG basically explains why Tae Yang made so few TV performances and appearances. To prevent Tae Yang’s solo album from leaking out, he deliberately delayed the submission of the judging CD to the major broadcasting companies in Korea- most likely cause that’s how they get leaked. Someone in the broadcasting company probably leaks the entire judging CD out online)

And unfortunately, Tae Yang couldn’t carry out his solo activities due to Big Bang’s Thailand concert.

I was thinking of having Tae Yang’s solo concert(?)

I didn’t make specific plans yet but, the concert should be around the end of July and as there’s not enough of Tae Yang’s solo songs to have a full solo concert, I think it appropriate if we held it in a club or a small theater. And in Tae Yang’s case, he has a lot of male fans and fans in their 20s and 30s, so I’m thinking if it’d be more fun if we hold a concert in two turns, dividing the audience between minors and adults.

After thinking about this more carefully, I’ll give you a more specific news soon.

and as FLHBB posted above, 2 concerts are in the works for Youngbae. Its' gonna be a solo concert, more like mini-concert tho. YG is planning to hold it at a club instead of a large venue. One of the concerts is geared towards younger fans and the other towards older fans, since Taeyang's fanbase includes both groups. I like this idea. It gives Taeyang some exposure and opportunities to showcase his other songs.

Yes it's a shame (if u know me you'll know why) that Wonder Girl's song "So Hot" is more popular than Taeyang's right now. Well there was that "Tell Me" syndrome last year so people are still crazy. However if you look at the charts, Taeyang's album is selling better than Wonder Girl's album. Taeyang's album has soo much more value anyways. The songs are gonna be good for a very long time while WG's will fade out. Kind of like "one hit wonders."
No worries, I think Taeyang will be in the music industry for a very long time.

Big Bang’s Tae Yang On Why He Likes The Wonder Girls More Than SNSD

Big Bang’s Tae Yang made a surprise confession that he likes the Wonder Girls more than SNSD.

Ater releasing his solo mini album in late May of this year, he has been garnering much attention. Recently on KBS Cool FM “Yoon Do Hyun’s Music Show,” he had to make a tough decision.

DJ Yoon Do Hyun asked Tae Yang, “I’ll ask you a very sensitive question. This question might be more difficult to answer than one related to music. Who do you like more: WG or SNSD?” Yoon Do Hyun made others laugh by saying, “This is like asking do you like your mom or your dad?”

Tae Yang answered, “It’s very difficult to answer, but I’ll pick the Wonder Girls since we’ve had several collaborations and are all friends.”

Following his ansewr, Yoon Do Hyun asked if he’s friends with any of the SNSD members. Tae Yang answered, “No… so I would like to be friends with them.” After his answer, he gave an embarrassed smile.

On the other hand, listeneners praised Tae Yang for his great live performance by saying, “Young Bae, you put honey on your vocal chords again,” “Young Bae, Noona loves you,” and more.

TY's Concert Ticket Resale up to 400,000 won

Taeyang concert total sold-out, price of ticket resale went up as high as to 400,000 won

Singer Taeyang's first solo concert this coming 20th July, tickets to the concert was all sold out. Not only was the advance sale response online overwhelming, last weekend the 4000 tickets to the concert were totally sold out. There was also underground resale of the tickets amongst fans, and the price of the tickets for resale went up to as high as 400,000 Won.

A YG Entertainment representative said, "Normally, even if the concert is sold out, there are many cases of the tickets being resold when there is no fixed time for payment of the tickets. But for TaeYang's case, the payment of the tickets were fixed early, and there were fans who did not get the tickets and wished to get them. The demand for resale tickets get so high to the extent that the price of the resale ticket went up to 400,000 won."

TaeYang has also been practising hard lately so as to give to his 20s and 30s age range fans the best performance. The representative also added, "TaeYang has been practising hard. This is bring to the best the best performances to the fans, be it the piano, R&B or pop song performances that they want."

This time, what was special for this concert is that there are different concert performances for fans in their teens and fans in their 20s or older. This is so that the fans would be able to enjoy the concert under different atmospheres. Those who are 12 years and above, will be able to enjoy the first concert performance at 5pm, while those who are 18 years and above will be able to enjoy the second concert performance for the day at 8pm.

TaeYang's solo concert "Hot" will take place this coming 20th July at 5pm and 8pm in Seoul Melon Ax. Recently TaeYang's popularity has been going up after the release of his solo debut song "Look Only At Me". It is also planned for Big Bang to have their comeback at the end of this month.

Big Bang TaeYang to be opening performer for Alicia Keys’ concert



Big Bang member TaeYang who has been successful recently with his solo single “Look Only At Me” was asked to perform for famous singer Alicia Keys.

TaeYang was asked to be the guest opening performer for Alicia Keys’ visiting performance “As I Am Tour” on 7th August in Jamsil Indoors Stadium, the last time Alicia Keys performed in Korea was 4 years ago.


Alicia Keys who had just 3 albums but achieved a total album sales of 2.5 million copies is an established R&B singer cum songwriter.


The last time Alicia Keys had her last performance in Korea, singer Gummy was invited to the be guest opening performer. And hence this time there is a lot of concern on who will be asked to be the opening guest performer.

Sony BMG, with whom Keys had signed her contract with said, “We chose and also requested for TaeYang, who has shown to be prominent in the R&B genre recently in the music scene in Korea, for the opening ceremony for Alicia Keys‘ performance.”

TaeYang released his solo album “Hot” in May, and his title song “Look Only At Me” has received praises from seonbae (elders) singers like Yoo Heel Yeol, Sung Shi Kyung and Epik High, proving to be indeed a capable singer. Also, in just 2 months after his solo debut, TaeYang will be holding his first solo concert in Melon AX in front of 4000 fans.

Taeyang was the first I noticed in BB! He does have great dancing skills and singing voice. He makes hats look so hot! It is also great that he can sing English. Maybe he will go international one day. That would be so awesome.
I know I loved him even more when I saw his Only Look at Me MV. His other song is Prayer and he has an MV for that song as well.
What do you think the chances of Taeyang going to the Philippines are? He can make it big there like Chun did.

It is so great that Taeyang will be opening for Alicia Keys! I think this is a wonderful opportunity for him! I never thought though Taeyang and Alicia Keys. I wonder how it will sound if they sing together.

I love that he could sing English as well. It is nice to hear that aside from singing in Korean he can also sing in English. Also more people will listen to him if they know that he can sing English. They were "investigating" on wether it's true that TaeYang was a child actor back then. They went and look for him to confirm, and it's true, he was, it was back in 2001 when he was around 12-13 years old, they even went to the credit at the end and zoom in his name "Dong Young Bae" I was cracking up when I saw YB with his shade, maybe he wear it to cover up his dark circles from the last performance on SBS, but it look like his cheeks was pushing up his glasses rather than his nose, so freaking adorable!!
