DBSK to star in a new drama

TV Drama Starring Music Group T.V.X.Q. to Be Filmed
by yodayoungie

A plan to shoot a TV drama starring the popular music group T.V.X.Q
has generated public attention.

On the afternoon of Jan. 4, Song Byung-joon, president of drama
production agency EightPeaks, said, "We are planning to produce a TV
drama based on a comic book entitled 'Hip-Hop,' to star the music
group T.V.X.Q."

Song made the remarks at a presentation introducing MBC TV's new
Wednesday-Thursday miniseries entitled "Palace" held at the Imperial
Palace Hotel in Seoul.

Song added, "We are writing a script so that we can release the
drama late this year. We have been in discussions with T.V.X.Q. for
seven or eight months. We have already reached a verbal agreement."

An official from T.V.X.Q.'s agency SM Entertainment said, "It is

starring in the drama. We have talked with the production agency

I will be able to understand them (mostly) without subtitles! YES! Cause they speak very simple and polite Japanese -- what I'm studying right now -- and so whenever they go on Japanese shows and whatnot, I can understand them (mostly). Subtitles help, of course, but for the most part... through what the hosts ask them and their body language... I can get a general gist of what they're saying! YES! WOOT!

But I have some bad news, but I'll hide it so you can read only if you wish. [spoiler] Of course, what this means is basically DBSK is going to start to, slowly, decline in popularity in Korea. Optimistically though, not too much... but if you look at the trend of other popular Korean artists that try to break into the Japanese market *cough boa cough* ... well, yup. Popularity in Korea decreases dramatically. BUT they do have Cassiopeia backing them up. ALTHOUGH, I do think that DBSK are as obsessive over Cassiopeia as Cass. is over them... which is actually a touch disconcerting. Seriously. [/spoiler]

But in lighter news, I actually saw (on PPStream, no less!) Xiah actually interacting with dolphins on a Japanese variety show. haha. It was TOO cute. It was before, I think, they started the whole "Xiah as a dolphin" trend... but twas SUPER amusing. JaeJoong wasn't there when they played with the dolphins though... but I got to see them all bowl[ing] ... ahh... I wish there was someway I could find these for all you girls to watch... but I don't know how to record live streaming... nanshi, yeah I get that feeling too... but what remains is that TVXQ! is actually VERY popular internationally compared to other korean artistes.. I heard that the estimated scale of their international fan base is larger than big celebrities like BoA. Which is why, they sell less albums in Korea as compared to the other artistes, but when compared internationally, they sell many more albums compared to the others. I don't think they're THAT obsessed about Cassiopeia the way Cassiopeia is obsessed about them, but yeah...they mention Cass. in EVERYTHING they do, which kind of peevs me sometimes.

In 2006 , their 3rd album is No.1 selling album ( nearly 350,000 copies ), and the fact that their albums in Korea always has very strong sales numbers is true . ( more than 200,000 ,now this number is quite great for Korean artists , not many artists can sell many albums like this )

- Single The Way U are 230,000 copies
- Album Tri Angle 285,000ี copies

They learnt their lesson and take for example, they might be going to Japan for 1 year but there will def. be times where they will fly back to Korea frequently because Korea Music Ent will still be their main concentration.
For 2007, TVXQ! will be in Japan whereas Super Junior, Jang Ri-In will be focusing their career in China
Frankly speaking, their worries about fans will leave them for another new group when they are in Japan is definetly a fact because the same thing happened when the other groups left Korea for another c'try Nah, I think they love Cassopeia and vice-versa... I can tell it after reading JaeJoong's letter Also, U can't call yourself a cassopeia if you can't like them forever No offences
Lastly, they didn't said that they will be in Japan for how long but I'm certain it won't be 2 years maybe a shorter period xD

i sort of agree with nanshi's hiden text. but i hope it wont happen that way. there was once a poll of the most popular music grps in japan and korea. and surprisingly dbsk is more popular in japan ? maybe thats why their focusing there. i hope korean fans will continue supporting them. they always have cassiopeia though. unfortunately, i dont even understand japanese :/ i agree with ciarain's comment on more good korean grps being formed. its tough competition and i hope after dbsk has worked so hard and gone so far, they wont let their efforts go to waste !

Oh, so it's not just me, right? I just feel that it's really irritating that the mention Cassiopeia all the time when they have TONS of dedicated fans out there that probably can't afford to join the fanclub, or just can't... and yet, Cassiopeia gets all the focus. Maybe they're just posessive and paranoid. Or maybe it's just a marketing ploy by SM to make sure that the Cassiopeia fanbase stays strong even if TVXQ is working abroad. But isn't there a Cassiopeia:Japan division as well? I heard that Cassiopeia has many different 'branches' to correspond with the differing regions of Asia.




I agree. There is a LOT of competition in Korean showbiz, especially for popular boybands and other popular male singers. Alread, DBSK has been getting some *minor* competition from other boybands (not to mention being compared to old ones) that although their popularity may increase in Japan, it'll decrease in Korea. Of course, I have heard the same thing about Japanese music industry and the sales of their albums. A lot more people are willing to -- in Japan -- to go out and buy the album and support the artist if they like him/her/them/it ... Japan is a more lucrative money-making market than Korea.




I still think Cassiopeia is a bit too obsessive over DBSK and DBSK too posessive over them. You can call it 'love'.... Seriously, riotous fans. And of course, it's obvious that they will be returning to Korea; after all, their primary fanbase is there. It's just that their focus will be in Japan mostly... and that will definitely alienate some of their Korean fans. I really don't understand WHY SM wants to spread them so thin though. Is it absolutely necessary to promote them in Japan? Pity I never actually SEE Cassiopeia interacting with DBSK. That would be interesting. hehehe.



DBSK may be more financially popular in Japan, but Japan also has a bigger population than Korea. So unless the poll was based on percentages and not actual numbers, that could account for it. Cause I DEFINITELY can see that DBSK is more popular in Korea than Japan. I mean, yeah, they're huge in Japan... but... they are definitely a lot more hesitant and you get a lot less 'DBSK-love' on their shows than you do on Korean shows... but that could be the nature of Japanese shows and the difference between those and Korean shows.

KK.. so it seems that them leaving Korea for that long of time is a pretty big issue... well.. for me its not like I don't care or anything.. but I like to think that they are going to Japan to enhance and build up even MORE fans..plus they proabably might even give us a little suprise from what they have learned in Japan.. haha.. and honestly.. my question is why can't they go to Hong Kong for a year.. then they could learn even more Canto and then when they speak it in the interviews.. I can understand more.. haha.. but.. hey.. we all need to have faith in Cassipiea.. and just a really really curious question.. Love*knots - I do agree with you, our boys didn't say anything about going to Japan for 2 years and not coming back. Everyone's been talking about it all over Soompi...about 4 pages long about it...and i'm kinda getting sick of hearing them complain, when the fact is not even a out yet. Aish! . Nanshi - Yes, I really want to join Cassiopeia fanclub...i went to their website to see how the whole form goes to join Cassiopeia...and believe me there was alot of things to do before joining Cassiopeia. I wish that DBSK can thank other fans instead of 'their' Cassiopeia. Cos some of us says 'DBSK thanx Cassiopeia...does it mean they thank us (non cassiopeia members) as well?'. I think they should thank 'All' of their fans not just Cassiopeia. But i know our boys love and respect Cass', and i can't do anything about it.
