this is MY point of view. .. at first .. i was like wow . so 80's and i didnt know if i could get used to it . but then it grew on me. i love how different it is. and its not just from a 'fangirl' perspective. i think its a really good soong . its not totallly Pop like. it has a different vibe to it and the MV is damn hot . ill get to it later. Step by Step is an unbeat songg and its nice to listen to. whenever they talk about Step by Step theyre always happy and enthusiastic about it . i think they did a good job using this song as their first single for their 2nd album . its upbeat and catchy and easy to sing. Choosey Lover is probably one of my favourite japanese songs of theirs. i knew people wouldnt like it but everyone has their opinions .
ive got to say . CHANGMIN LOOKS DAMN FINE IN THE MV i dont understand how he doesnt fit in . and this is directed to nanshi . im a very direct person . i dont think ive ever seen changmin that hot in my life . . and junsu looked hot too. i dont see how he is 'vaguely' out of place. a guy in a club who is hot and sexy just fits in to the clubbing scene. end of story. id understand if they had cute outifits on and went in the clubb it wouldnt work. but they wore sexy club outfits ... neways . before this turns into an essay . haha. Whatever. I don't mind people asking me questions or criticizing my comments. I am my own worst critic and I am unnaturally opinionated. Personally, I think it could just be because of the personal image I have of Xiah and Changmin... that I don't really see them suited to that clubbing scene (despite the fact that the clothes and the acting all fit). Personal tastes always vary: I, for one, dont like the clubbing scene at all, period. So that probably has a lot of influence in how I view things like that. I'm not saying he *looks* out of place (like acting-wise or whatever)... but that I, personally, don't really see him in a place like that. It would be like going away to college and somehow seeing my younger brother clubbing at the same club I go to. I mean, he's hanging out with his friends and dressed the part... but I'd still be like "my innocent little brother...!" My personal opinions towards Changmin (which I shall be refrained from saying here) also factor into this a bit, I assure you as well.

Not to say that I think Choosey Lover is a BAD MV or a BAD song... just not my cup of tea. I just generally prefer DBSK's ballads to their faster songs... But my tastes tend to fluctuate a lot. I may end up loving Choosey Lover within a few weeks. I didn't like "O" a lot at first (trust me, I hated it)... but it was their 'big single' and it was performed everywhere and the song grew on me (still not my favorite, but... at least I don't despise it the way I did when it first came out). Plus, not to mention my personal mood and tastes vary into this as well. Watching Choosey Lover again, I realized that I'm just not in the mood to hear a song like that (you know when you're just in a 'mood' to hear a different type of song?) Yesterday, I was in a "Miduyo" kinda mood where I wanted to hear something slow and romantic and gentle... not something like this (which is a more dancey song... something that actually quite annoying to my tastes right now)... And my own personal tastes vary as well. Yes, they look hot and attractive but I don't necessarily find them really sexy in this. Except for Micky... who I think does look very sexy. The others, I found them sexier in different images (they look sexier in different images). Like Yunho looks REALLY sexy when he's performing "O" in that outfit with the leather suit and the black gloves (!omgosh! I died a bit when I saw that). Xiah is just consistently adorable... but a few shots of Prince in Prague... he looks SO sleek and sexy that I could just dribble chocolate all over him and eat him up. Et cetera... y'know?

Although for Choosey Lover's credit... the choreography in this one is rather nice. I like it when Xiah does his little Harlem shake towards the end (so cute to see Xiah dancing some hip hop like that)... except for the move where they do the clapping. THAT is weird and a bit out of place... but I think it's because TVXQ, in general, is trying to shake up their image a little bit and expand their demographic (remember what they said about Balloons?)...

When it comes down to it, my tastes are just eclectic and wide-ranged. My natural inclincation to be much more critical fo TVXQ's Japanese tracks also factor into this as well. Sorry if you were upset/confused when you read my comment. Maybe if you read through all of it you would've understood the context better? I wouldn't know, not knowing how much you read of it to begin with... but yes, I am a rather long-winded writer. Good luck if you read through all of that (it is subtly shorter than my original comments on Choosey Lover)...It comes from liking to talk a lot as well... ^.^'

To nanshi : in the box Critic hangout , I usually see your comments & you seems to be very interested in the vocal & the singing skill of singers . So I wasn't surprised when u said that u prefered DBSK's ballads . Generally , a slow song can show your singing skill more than a fast song , right ?

A very familiar statement : different people have different tastes. Honestly , though I love their ballads a lot ( and sometimes I like them more than their fast song like "O" or " Rising Sun") because I can feel their great voices in those ones , but I always fall in love with their fast songs first , and it takes me a little longer to begin to like their slow songs .

Just adding my two cents of Choosey Lover MV...

Absolutely loved it. Shows a different style of TVXQ, 80s club style, just classic.
Very different to the last single, Step by Step.

JaeJoong looked soo totally in place. Looks just a natural party animal.
Yunho : hotness can't be beaten in my opinion. Charisma's already there.
Loving the JunHo moment, if it was JaeHo it would've been too hot to handle
Changmin I reckon was cool at first but he kinda pulled it off on the later part. No offense. Micky's pretty cool too, although Junsu... his voice dominates as usual but he doesn't really fit this MV's style, maybe just not a 'clubbing' type of guy?

Love the group 'gather' in the end, just loving it.

That picture is really photoshopped, maybe some people can't tell, but I'm a freak about pictures and technical values. So when I look at this and notice that the quality of the girl's face is different from Junsu's, I just know it's fake.
There was a big duscussion about his picture over at soompi, too. There was like 20 pages and everyone there seemed to gree it was fake. They even posted the original picture of Junsu kissing someone, and I think it was Micky or something. All I know is that he wasn't kissing a girl.
Pictures like this cause some people to get upset, I'm not one of them because as much as I love Junsu, I'm all for HIS happiness. And as much as I wish I were that girl in the pic, let's get serious, it's not gonna happen anytime soon.
It's just pictures like these cause other girls to freak out and lash out against him, which is totally wrong. The boys should be free to date and love whomever they like. They're humans just like us!

Sure the video is hot and sexy, but the song is still a little iffy...I think the only reason I actually like the song is because it has a nice video accompanying it. Yeah, I aslo have an affixed image of Junsu and Minnie. We just don't want our boys to grow and become guys like that lol! For me, Minnie doesn't seem like the kind of person who would even step foot in a club. He's be too shy, and be wondering why he was there. Junsu would just be the total cutie at a club. Showing off his moves, but he's just so innocent that he'd be afraid to dance up with the other girls there. OMG! I totally noticed that dance part, too. Junsu was uberly hot/cute doing that little dance, like he was off in his own little world.
I know they're trying to change their image and stuff, but going from Step by Step to Choosey Lover, isn't that too big of a change? Are they trying to be a cute boyband, or a sexy/mature boyband.

And just like you, I prefer ballads over dance songs. Although it really does depend on what kind of mood I'm in. When I'm happy, I listen to O, Balloons, Rising Sun, etc. But when I'm stressed out or in a bad mood (Which I'm usually in) I listen to songs like Miduhyo, Hey! Girl, Holding Back the Tears, Timeless and so on...But songs like that never get on my nerves or give me a headache, while some of their dance songs do.

But back to the point. I do feel that Choosey Lover was meant as a fanservice MV, and it totally worked. I don't really care too much though, because the more success they get, teh happier I'll be. But I do agree with one of your other ponts, too. They should stop with the poppish, dancey songs in Japan if they want to be taken as serious singing group and not the usual teen-idol boyband. It really does bug me how there is this stigma about the boyband, and it scares people away from getting to know thme. Heck, I was one of those sceptical few, too who never thought I would let myself get into another boyband. But DBSK was different, at least in my opinion. They were actually the first boyband to have extremely talented members and awesome personalities to boot. I don't know where I'm even heading with this post anymore, so I'll stop now .

anyhooo! i'm so excited over that upcoming Xman. MAJOR NOSEBLEED EPISODE! i really hope all of them do come on, but i doubt it. since the cast is already quite loaded i think they won't have ALL of DBSK on. think of the chaos that would create; ALL of DBSK + Andy + Junjin + Se7en + Jang Woohyuk!

Ah, I'm just adding to the birthday spamming but SAENGIL CHUKHA HAMNIDA CHANGMIN!
Out of all the members I think he really has changed the most, which makes sense because he's the youngest. I hope he comes into his own this year - it already looks like he's started to do that. I hope he had a really big, delicious cake. I wonder if they smashed his face in it like they did to Junsu on his birthday...if they did, I bet Junsu smashed Changmin's face in it because Changmin was the one who put Junsu's face in the cake haha

Umm...Just to let you guys know, the Xman show appearance turned out to be another faux rumor. They won't be going on this Monday, but instead it's going to be a re-cap show, showing like the best of the best clips from previous shows.

Yeah, I was really disappointed, too when I found out they weren't going on, but this time I braced myself for disappointment. Unlike last time when they were rumored to be going on for a New Year's Special, I got my hopes up so high- but then it never happened.
All in all, I'm just sick about how some people can do this to us. Always fueling rumors that they'll appear on a show or something...only to disappoint us later on.
