Once again, "Palace S", wherein singer-actor Se7en stars, recorded the lowest audience rating compared to the other Wednesday-Thursday dramas.

SBS "Surgeon Bong Dal Hee" and KBS2TV "Dalja's Spring" are competing for the top spot. According to TNS Media Korea, "Surgeon Bong Dal Hee" recorded a nationwide audience rating of 18.5% while "Dalja's Spring" got 18.3%. The two ratings only differ by 0.2%.

MBC "Palace S" recorded 9% which again put the show at the last spot.

"Give it a little more space in your heart and it will be good", said singer-actor Se7en.

"There have been a lot of expectations. But this is my first time as an actor. People see a different charm when I am a singer and actor", Se7en said when asked on his thoughts as a new actor.

"In articles that I read, I see that some say that I am good and some say that I am bad. But I just think that people have different opinions on what they see. People have only seen 1/3 of the drama and there are still more developments that will happen in the story. If you will give it a little more space in your heart, it probably will be good", Se7en expressed.

People have pointed out that his way of uttering his dialogues is a problem. It seems that either a low or high voice is not good enough.

November of last year, Se7en released his 4th album "Se7olution". After 2 months of promotions, Se7en immediately rushed into filming the drama. "At first, I was proud of my strong physical strength but I was hospitalized for the first since my debut. I also wish to have good health this New Year. I am sad that the 4th album promotions were shortened but I will be having a concert in April, Se7en said.

"I will answer the question after 5 years", Se7en laughingly said when asked which he would choose - singer or actor.

Now personally, like a point someone else on this other forum made, I don't think that Se7en or the head cast is the problem.
Too many fans still have Goong etched in their brains and they can't help but compare the two.
(I never saw the previous one and will not till' I see all of this one)
Also it's really strange why they decide to make...as someone else said "A goong-alike"..lol But like Se7en is tryin to say..
Give it more time.
I have only seen the first two ep's..( I'm falling behind waiting for subs) But I think his acting gets better each episode and there's like 24 so maybe it will soon get into people's heart's and become it's own show..

K-pop star Se7en’s acting debut has been a disappointment to many fans, as shown by the lackluster ratings for his drama ``Kung S” (Palace S).

Se7en will try to win back his fans with what he does best: singing and dancing. He will hold a solo concert ``747 _ Se7en for 2007” on April 7 at Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium in southern Seoul.

The concert will be a test of Se7en’s popularity, which may have been affected by the poor reviews of his acting and the low ratings of ``Kung S.” The drama made its debut in January with ratings of 15.3 percent but since then has averaged less than 10 percent.

Some have even compared Se7en to Lee Hyo-ri, a K-pop star who failed to make the transition to acting. Lee's acting debut in ``Three Leaf Clover” also had low ratings.

``Kung S” may have suffered from high expectations, especially since the original ``Kung” was such a big hit, boosting the careers of newcomers Yoon Eun-hye and Joo Ji-hoon. Viewers have criticized ``Kung S” for its storyline, which they say is too similar to the original drama, and poor acting by the leads.

Se7en is not letting the failure of the drama deter his plans to break in the United States market.

In a message posted on the YG Entertainment Web site on Feb. 15, the management company’s CEO, Yang Hyun-suk, said the April 7 concert will be Se7en’s last performance in Korea this year. After the concert, he said Se7en would go to the United States to start shooting his first music video.

Se7en has already recorded his first single, featuring rap star Fabulous, which will be released in the United States in the second half of the year. Rick Harrison, who has also worked with American stars such as Beyonce, Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys, produced it.

He also collaborated with Korean-American R&B singer Amerie on a single included in her upcoming album ``Because I Love It.”

Se7en is also planning to promote a new Japanese single and to hold a concert tour in Japan in June. He has already released a Japanese-language album and several singles.

Last November, Se7en released his album ``Se7olution.’’ However, his promotional activities for the album were cut short because of the schedule for his drama.

i'm watching GoongS too and it's true that in the beginning it wasn't that good... Se7en acting was cute and fresh but the storyline was weird... the episodes were cuted in a weird way but now it's getting really interesting... since episodes 5&6 ^^ i'm waiting for the subtitled episodes so i've seen only 8 episodes so far but i'm really enjoying this series now and i do hope that people in korea give it a second try... anyway i didn't watch Goong so i can't compare the series ^^

anyway that's a great thing for him to be able to do so many activities this year ! korea live, japanese tour and a single in the states ? that's awesome ! i really love his Se7olution album but i think his japanese album looks too japanese... it's always like that, the foreign artists who want to release an album or a single in japan have to do a song in a japanese way so that people will pay attention to it... but i really prefer his original korean songs ^^ hope his single for the usa will be good ^^

I'm a big Rain avid fan and I only saw Se7en's name in some of Rain's article here in asianfanatics. But when I started watching Goong S in Veoh, I got hook and starting to like him...in less than a week, I have all his songs (from his 5 albums) and more than 20 video clips and MVs of him.

Now, I'm waiting for Goong S ep 17.(so fast!)This series is good, better than any Korean series i've known.

I love his songs (lalala, come back to me 1&2,promise,etc many to mention hikhik).wish I can speak & understand korean hahaha...
