Se7en (세븐) (born Choi Dong Wook (최동욱) November 9, 1984) is a South Korean pop and R&B singer. Se7en began training under a management agency, the YG Family, at the age of 15. After 4 years of intense training in voice and dance, Se7en made his debut in 2003 and became an instant hit throughout Asia. He has released a total of 4 albums, various singles, and aims to become a world-renowned artist.

Career

Ever since Se7en's debut, he has been under the YG Family label. Much of his career is comprised of constant promotions for his songs through live performances on TV, radio shows, and occasionally, concerts. He began learning Japanese at an early age in preparation for his promotional activities in Japan, and is one of the few South Korean artists who can speak Japanese fluently and thus, cross the language barrier that hinders most South Korean artists. He is currently developing his English speaking skills for his upcoming US debut.

Se7en is constantly traveling throughout Asia, particularly Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and China. He has also performed a few times in the United States, specifically Los Angeles, New York City, and Washington DC.

In addition to performing, he has been featured on numerous gameshows in South Korea and Japan, and various commercials such as Anycall, Baskin Robbins, Coca Cola, LG telecom and most recently, Sprite. He has held a total of five concerts in Japan: one held in 2005 at Yokohama, and for the year 2006, two held in Tokyo and two in Osaka. He held a total of three concerts for his "24/SE7EN" album promotion June 2006 in Seoul, South Korea. His popularity has earned him an award for the Most Popular Korean Singer in the MTV Asia Awards 2006 at Bangkok, Thailand, and the MTV Best Buzz Asia Award 2006.

As of August 2006, Se7en is performing in the YG Family 10th Anniversary world concert tour in the following countries: South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, and the USA. Finally, Se7en is scheduled to release his fourth Korean album in October 2006.

Voice
Se7en's vocal range distinguishes him from other South Korean pop artists. His voice can be described as smooth, mellow, and sometimes mildly abrasive (see vocal belting) when songs, such as "Crazy" and "I Know," call for it. He often sings with a vibrato in his voice that American R&B singers are known for, and also incorporates beatboxing into many of his songs such as "Passion."

Dance
Se7en's signature handstandAdditionally, Se7en is known for his dance moves. His dance style, like his vocals, can also be described as smooth and leaning more towards freestyle rather than heavy choreography. Some dance techniques he sports during live performances are gliding, popping of the chest, and various one-handed handstands. His signature handstand, which he executes during his "Come Back to Me" performances, is the Nike (see picture). Most recently, he has been executing the gainer and the pike (see breakdancing) during his "I Know" performances. Finally, even when the song involves a large dance routine, Se7en never lipsyncs during live performances, believing that "lipsyncing is no different from watching a dubbed movie."

"Palace 2" new title :: "Palace S/Goong S"



"Palace 2" was decided to be now called as "Palace S".

On November 20, Group Eight, the production unit of "Palace 2", announced that the title of the series is now "Palace S".

According to Group Eight, the reason why it was necessary to change the title was because the season 2 has new characters and new story and not just because of the copyright issues.

Group Eight expressed that the title has several meanings. "Palace S"'s "S" stands for new start (Start), special story (Special), original drama spin-off (Spin-Off) and the secret that surrounded who will play the lead role - Se7en (Secret).

"Palace S" is planned to be broadcasted on January 10, 2007.

"Palace S" Se7en, royal "Lee Hoo" transformation complete





Singer Se7en (23. Choi Dong Wook) has finished his royal transformation preparation for the drama "Palace S".

Se7en plays the role of "Lee Hoo" in "Palace S", a spin-off of "Palace". "Lee Hoo" is a Chinese restaurant delivery staff who later knows that he comes from a Royal family.

Se7en perfectly transforms into a royal prince after taking horseback riding, martial arts, etiquette lessons since his return from the US at the end of October.

"Se7en has learned considerably about horseback riding. Se7en learned horseback riding quickly" expressed the production personnel. Se7en's Taekwondo teacher also praised him.

Se7en, who has finished his royal transformation, starts filming the drama this week.

Se7en admitted that actress Kim Hee Sun is his ideal type. Both are participants in the "Korean Wave Expo in Asia" which will be opened on November 29 at Jeju Island.

He also continued to say that Kim Hee Sun (senior) has been his ideal type since his debut days. Se7en and Kim Hee Sun are popular in China.

Se7en, whose song "La La La" is gaining popularity, plays the lead part in the drama "Palace S". This will be his first project as an actor.

"I am scheduled on a different day for the event but the thought that I might stand on the same stage with Kim Hee Sun in the same event made me glad", Se7en said.

The exhibition event costs 100,000,000,000 won wherein cultural contents, forerunner stars of the Korean Wave and IT technology of Korea will be showcased. Korean stars like Bae Yong Jun, Song Seung Hun and Jang Nara will be attending the event.

Se7en, Su Ju, Jang Woo Hyuk, Howl in the "Korean Wave Drama Concert"



The "2006 Korean Wave Drama Concert" will take place on December 3 at 4 pm at Gyeonggido Ilsan's KINTEX.

Sung Kyung Suk and Ayumi will be the MCs for the event. Singers who will participate in the event are Se7en, Super Junior, Jang Woo Hyuk, Howl, J, Jung Jae Wook and Jaurim.

Next year, MBC drama "Palace S" will be aired with Se7en, Kang Du, Park Shin Hye and Heo Lee Jae as the main leads. Last November 20, the SBS drama "Snow Flower", which stars Go Ara, Kim Ki Bum (Super Junior) and Kim Hee Ae, who stars in the drama and participated in the OST, was first broadcasted.

Yuh Byung Hyuk, director of CTL Networks, the sponsor of the event, puts together the tourist industry and culture industry and sees this event as an opportunity to expand the Korean Wave with new Korean Wave representatives. The event is supported by the Cultural Tourism Ministry and Korean General Tourism Industry Association.

5,000 concert seats are available.

-Some new photos have been uploaded from the recording of music space

-There has been news that he will be participating in the korean drama concert event on the 3rd of december, but today the official site uploaded a notice saying that he will not be attending the concert. But i just checked now and they've deleted that post... so i'm not sure whether he's going or not... hmmm

In the interview, she says that she's bought all his previous albums but didnt have the chance to buy his 4th album. She received this album from dongwookie when they met. He wrote on the cd "Àß ºÎŹÇÕ´Ï´Ù"~(hard to explain literally in english, but it's sth u would say to new workmates and sort of has the meaning of let's work well together) Although he gave cds to other staff as well she was happy... and she listened to the album secretly in the car via her mp3 without letting the manager know.

The drama will be a 20 episode series with 70 minutes each episode starting on the 10th january
(there is so concern as to the drama Goong S will be competing against, at the moment it seems like one drama will star Chae rim and Jang Hyuk, the other one will star Ji jin hee~ Some big names and also the other 2 series seem like they will be comedies as well....)

Lee Hoo (20 years old)

A member of the royal family- with royal blood running through him.

But he himself does not know of this fact and works, delivering ja jang myun at a chinese restaurant in incheon. He is an affirmative and happy go lucky type of person. He is a delivery "jjang" of the chinese takeaway delivery world, and No matter how late he takes 7 minutes maximum for a delivery.
Even though he is not well educated, becuase he is so accommodating, he can get close, get on well easily with anyone. His problem is that he always confronts things with martial arts and kung fu.

In reality, he's not good at martial arts but because he can put out a good pose, there are ppl who get tricked thinking he is good. He's the type that starts off with words and fights with words. His comics are martial arts, movies also martial arts and although he doesnt read alot, the only books he reads are martial art novels. Suddenly ppl from the palace come looking for him
"I have royal blood running through me? What are you tlaking about?"

Hoo, who has been living as Kang Hoo has to change into Lee now now, and enter the palace and receive education....

(I should do the translations for the other characters too huh?but i cant be bothered)

dongwookie goes no....Eric picks up and when he realises it's dongwookie, he goes "Oh...What's up man?"
Dongwookie goes "What's up Hyung?"
Others are trying to guess who it is... Jinusean?
Dongwookie explains it's Eric from Shinhwa... Eric says hi to everyone else... and dongwookie asks him what he was doing... eric goes he was just lying down... Dongwookie says he's at sang sang plus now.. and eric says straight away "Ah..hint!" Uhm jung hwa is a bit envious because when she rang lee sora, lee sora was drinking with ppl and she was so lost, like not knowing what was happening (that bit is quite funny, esp when uhn jung hwa asked lee sora to repeat the hints she had told her, lee sora's like.... Words that the uncle that's gone to the army uses when cursing).... and dongwookie goes that it seems like eric knows the tv programs well... so dongwookie asks him "Hyung, what do your mother say before they hit you?" and eric's like "Just a moment"... then the other host goes "Ah scary...."
so dongwookie tells eric all the hints and at the end, dongwookie asks "Hyung, what do you do to be so good looking?" and tak jae hoon takes the phone and says to eric "What do you do to look so plain?" and eric asks "Is that Tak jae hoon ssi?" and tak jae hoon says "No i'm bae sung woo" (Bae sung woo is someone who's known for a bad temper i think)
Dongwookie says to eric that he needs to send an sms to him soon and eric goes "Ok!"

(3) There's been some radio interviews in the past few days.. nothing really interesting but

-kim won hee's afternoon discovery- this was quite a short interview... but one thing which bothered me was... when kim won hee was telling him to go and get a girlfriend and date like a normal person because he will regret it later if he doesnt... she also asked him how many girlfriends he's had in the past? and he goes 3-4 ... (he's trying to be vague here) and she continues to ask him , what about after u turned 20? and he said 1-2 .... first of all i dont konw why he says 3-4 and 1-2 and not a definite number... and secondly if he's had 1-2 after he's 20, that means he definitely had a gf at some stage after he debuted... i'm surprised taht didnt come out in the news.... hmmmmmmm

- Park kyung rim's shim shim ta pa... this time round was no where near as funny as last time when he went on for the 3rd album... the only amusing thing was when a fan wrote on the msg board, happy birthday to dongwookie' mother.. and dongwookie's face jsut changed 180 deg... like HUH???? that fan wrote that his mother's lunar birthday was 1st october... and dongwookie takes out his phone to check but he's still not sure... and he says happy birthday mum on the show...but later on i read somewhere that his mother's lunar birthday is actually 10th october so it's not that dongwookie forgot but th fan got it wrong in the first place...

(4) On the 13th november, dongwookie and Hwang PD made a special appearance at the preview screening Heo yi jae's new movie Sunflower along with many other celebs.
