I've enjoyed wtaching him in my name is kim sam soon, snow queen, and a millionaires first love. he is quite talented! but his looks are average. not badd..he made me cry hellla in a millionaires first love. i didn't like his chracter at first, but towards the end he changed =] hmm..he matches really well with the girl in snow queen.

Korean Idol Actor Hyun Bin to Visit Japan
April 12, 2007

TV actor Hyun Bin, who rose to stardom through the TV drama “My Name is Kim Samsoon� in 2005, will fly to Japan to promote his drama “Snow Queen,� which finished airing in Korea last January.

Produced by Yoon’s Color, a production company founded by director Yoon Seok-ho of “Winter Sonata� and “Spring Waltz� fame, and written by the writers of “Winter Sonata,� “Snow Queen� will be aired every Thursday on channel 12 in Tokyo starting May 10th.

Hyun first visited Japan last November to promote “A Millionaire’s First Love� in which he had his first starring role in a film. At the time, some 1,500 fans welcomed him at the airport to show their support for the new Hallyu star.

Q: Did you know beforehand you are very popular in China? Have you any plans for working in China?

HB: I only knew after I'm here that <MNIKSS> was aired here, I'm still developing a career in Korea, my wish is to produce more works loved by Koreans, then I'll think of furthering my career overseas. Actually I don't have to work in China, a lot of Chinese fans can watch my work in Korea, also my other works like CFs can be appreciated by fans here too.


Q: What so you like to do in your downtime?

HB: Go cruising in my car, making models. Since highschool I'm fascinated with detailed stuff, later on, my fans gave me a lot of models as gifts, I've been making and playing with them at home (grins)!


Q: In a lot of Korean variety show, a lot of artists can sing and dance very well, is that inborn? I'm curious why aren't you on those shows more often?

HB: A lot of artists in Korea is very talented in singing and dancing, I'm lacking in that department. I participated in variety shows a few years back when I was a newcomer. Although the audience only see an hour of entertainment, we spent 11, 12 hours taping it, some artists like the experience, but it's not suitable for my character. I can work really hard and learn sth new for a movie, a role, but I won't equip myself to go on variety shows to increase my popularity.

Q: You had lunch with Director Tsui Hark, even shown him some of your karate moves, do you like Chinese Kung Fu movies a lot?

HB: Very much so. At that time, I thought I would have the opportunity to work with Director Tsui very soon after the luncheon. I even prepared way in advance.. I like to get very well prepared and well-trained for my movie roles, while undergoing trainings, it feels like I've made improvements.

Q: Who are your favorite Chinese artists?

HB: Chow Yun Fat, Tong Leung are both excellent actors. As for Kaneshiro Takeshi, even from the viewpoint of a guy, he's very handsome!


Q: What do you wish to elaborate on the cultural exchange between China and Korea?

HB: I think lets start with food! I love to eat, so I wish I can enjoy more Chinese cuisine, haha! I also hope the show business will increase in cultural exchange. I wish there are more joint productions. I think the film industry plays a more active role now. Although its universal that Hollywood is the best, but I think if China and Korea collaborate, we can surpass Hollywood (smiles)!
