Also wondering if Rain only likes Korean ladies. His answers seem to be very general when asked what type of woman he likes. Any one have any ideas?

OMG!!! The concert was frikkin' awesome!!!
It's probably the best concert I've been too!!
Because we had to get in before 6 or something, and the concert started at 7, they showed us these days of Air Korea (or some plane) and these photoshoots of these Korean celebs like Hyun Bin, Shin Min Ah and some other dude...forgot his name, but he's incredibly well known..
Also, a short ad of a new girl-band from JYP called Wonder Girls
And, a short talk with Rain of saying the concert was for World Vision, helping kids who have AIDS.
Concert started off with a splash of a rain droplet. Goddamn loud too! Did it a couple of times, and suddenly turned into rain (I think). Then, there was a massive submarine on stage, and then...I forgot how Rain appeared...
Started off with the song It's Raining, and then moved onto one of his songs from his latest album, Touch It or something. Massive screens behind him, so it showed pics of people having hot sex
One of the most memorable moments was when he performed Instead Of Saying Goodbye in a rock-esque style. Pretty awesome, going for something different with a bit of Asian twist.
He also performed martial arts dance style, singing...ummmm....something like Bad Guy or oh! MorenGi or something like that!
Hmmmm...what else...ah, the usual 'wear-white-and-have-rain-poured-on-you-while-you-strip'. I don't know what the song is called, but he also performed it in the Rainy Day concert.
I jsut know that it was right after I Do
And of course...he sang It's Coming, very well done
Can't be stuffed to go through details..
And the final act!! Instead Of Saying Goodbye, the original version!
He was wearing red, it was hot
Sorry everyone, I'm still excited about last night and I want to tell EVERYONE!!
Unfortunately, I have short-term memory, so I just named the parts that I could remember to most...lol...
So sorry everyone!!!
Oh...and I got a free Rain phone card!!!
I'll probably post it up later... |[♪나에게 사랑이란 。。。♥//]|

the concert was pretty awesome, the effects were great!! i totally loved the layout of the stage lol!!

but one thing that was dissapointing would have to be the organisation of the whole concert.. there wasnt much people that i would expect, mabe because the tickets were too expensive or maybe the promotion wasnt good enough...
my friend recieved an email from the promoters..and it said that minyao (the person who organised the concert) went bankrupt because the concert didnt make profit and he had to pay the excess to cover up the lost... well im not surprised because acer arena wasnt that packed.. and the most pit was only like half full
BUT OVER ALL THE CONCERT WAS STILL AWESOME!! pretty surprised that he spoke english throughout the whole concert.. this concert was not exactly the same as his Rains Coming DVD concert in Korea.. had some new performances and instead of coming out of the helicopter he came out of a blown up submarine!!
i also managed to buy rains dog tag for 40 bux..

Rain to Perform at Prestigious Tokyo Dome
April 19, 2007
In yet another confirmation of his stature as an international star, Rain is scheduled to be the first Korean singer to hold a concert at Japan's Tokyo Dome stadium. The pop sensation traveled to Japan on Wednesday, two days after returning from last week’s successful performance in Australia, and announced his plans to perform at the Tokyo Dome at an official press conference.
Star M Entertainment, which is promoting Rain's world tour, recently agreed to bring the "Rain's Coming" tour to the Tokyo Dome on May 25. The Dome has hosted the world's top talents, such as Mariah Carey, the Rolling Stones, and Beyonce. The Dome, which is also the home of the Yomiuri Giants and Korean slugger Lee Seung-yeop, is the ultimate dream of many Japanese performers, but only top-drawer local acts have ascended its stage, including Ayumi Hamasaki, Glay, and SMAP.
Star M Entertainment announced the news in Japan with Rain and said, "With Japan as the axis, Rain spread the wave to Southeast Asia. Now he's reconfirming his stature with the concert at the Tokyo Dome."
The performance at the Tokyo Dome means Rain is one step further from being just an Asian celebrity and one step closer to being a world star. The Dome can hold up to 42,000 people but it requires a minimum of 35,000 tickets to be sold. Only top-selling performers attempt to play there. Among Korean celebrities, Lee Byung-heon held a fan meeting at the Dome last June with 42,000 guests. The Japanese press at the time made a great fuss, calling it the biggest event in the history of the "Korean Wave."
Lingering rumors say that Star M Entertainment was worried about bringing Rain's tour to the Dome, which would mean just once performance there. Rain, however, decided to go ahead with the idea, believing himself to be "Asia's singer" and eager to be the first Korean singer to perform at the fabled stadium. It is said that the concert promoter's Japanese partner UAE strongly pushed for the concert at the massive stadium.

It has also served as the venue for concerts by the global pop stars Beyonce and Madonna.

It's too bad about the ticket sales =/ Yeah, I read that the concert was a bit rushed in the planning/organization, and a lot of people didn't even have enough time to register that there was going to be a concert, and you mentioned not enough promotion/plus expensive tickets? [just how expensive were the tickets? o_0]
On the topic of ticket sales, I had the scariest/wierdest dream, okay NIGHTMARE last night. It's not a nightmare unless you're a Rain fan. Like, I dreamed that Rain had really horrible ticket sales in at least four different places. It was sooo scary, and like someone robbed like 2 mil. from him too [that was random], and then in the last place before I woke up he only sold 8 tickets?! And like, the tickets were said to be really expensive too, but yeah, it was quite scary...and I woke up this morning praying for him to have sold out concerts in the US and Canada

And on the topic of ticket prices, I read a bunch of comments somewhere of people complaining "Who does Rain think he is?! His tickets are so expensive, etc." It was also incredibly depressing T_T Does anyone have any idea how much the tickets will be for the concerts in US, specifically NYC? Did anyone go to his last one? o_0 thanks!

Apr 22 2007 4 05 AM
Its understandable why the tickets are so expensive. Its a job and he needs to make a living too. People need to remember that the artists get a small portion of their record sales. Concerts are where they make most of their money, and they still only get a percentage of that.

heh ^^;; sorry for springing such a dream on you guys, I know Rain will succeed. Although I'm a little nervous about the Tokyo Dome thing, because from what I've read and seen on charts, Rain isn't THAT popular in Japan, because even though his japanese album was good [imo], it wasn't to the taste of the japanese people in general, and his japanese isn't that fluent [some people were annoyed that "he wasn't putting much effort into morphing himself for the japanese market"], and since there are difficult requirements to be able to perform there, it's slightly nerve-racking. Just a bit.
And omg, I went to the Times site after
nicholewsf mentioned it [thank you btw], and I was expecting to see Rain at 95...but when i saw it he was at number ONE. I was very impressed, but sadly, I think it's things like these that make people say Rain is "overrated", they get angry when Rain, who is "only an entertainer and not even international" [i disagree tho] gets above the "actual important people" *sigh* It's too bad >.<
But it's RAIN'S WORLD

Oh, and on a side note, I'm rewatching Full House again, I <3 it.

Singer Rain could well be named as one of the world's top 100 influential people by Time magazine for the second year.
The singer current sits atop the ongoing online survey to determine this year's Time 100 list.

I've been looking at the polls for the past few days, Rain was in the Top 5 on Monday, went down to 16 yesterday, and is now at 12. It's notable that Rain has far more votes than most of the other canditates. People keep saying he's only doing well because he has this whole band of fangirls spending 24/7 on the computer voting for him, but judging from the results, there are a number of sour people who feel he doesn't deserve the honor, and have been voting "0's" for him. I think this is unfair, as many people don't really know much about him, but are just against him because there are many others supporting him. It's really sad >.<

...... I think this is unfair, as many people don't really know much about him, but are just against him because there are many others supporting him. It's really sad >.<
Do not feel bad friend !!!! Many of us already known that as Rain was in the list 100 last year ... thousands of Asian people felt frustrated because he was actually the 1st Kpop person ever entered the honor list.... So the second times would turn many people from frustrated to hate and spend times just to turn him down so that they can feel better
Also, some people are " strange types" as i read many comments from them saying that because Rain's news and his stuffs are everywhere around them .... So they turn 180 degree from like to hate ....
Some people have unresonalble reasons to vote him down to 0 like : he still so young, just 23, 24 yo ... He needs to be older and spend more time to creat songs and musics and then he can enter the list.... hahahahha ...I shook my head here! (: .... because Mr. Bill Gates create the computers for us when he was just 21, 22 ...hehehehe .... So: Does young age was a matter for Bill Gate to turned up the whole world to the begining of computer generations ?
But think on 1 positive thing: no matter they vote to 0 or 1 ... Rain is definitely has an influence on them ... hehehhe .....so they have to cast a vote!!!!!!!
Rain also has big influence on many Asian artists also. Let's say 4 years ago, you never seen a famous and reputable Asian artist stripped their shirts on the stage bcause it was against the cultural norm of Asians .... However, as Rain started to do that 1st time .... Now at 2006, 2007 you can see many famous and popular artists doing that also, for example: HwanHee of Fly to sky, Minwoo of Shinhwa, Wang lee Hom, Vaness of F4, Son Ho-Young (ex member of G.O.D), and Se7en also wet and with unbutons shirt all of the way on the stage ...hehehehe...
And after Rain's world tour ... I bet there will be another Korean artists follow his footsteps to do the world tour also ...hehehhe ....Isn't that great? That is Rain is definitely a trend setter !!!!!!

RAIN, "The honours that I gain may be helpful in my entrance into USA music market."
Interview by Naver 연합뉴스 2007-04-26 19:45
He is nominated as "The 100 Most Beautiful People" by <PEOPLE> magazine from The States.
"The lessons that can only be learnt by the challenger through the tough experiences in world tour."
"I received many congratulation messages and blesses after winning The Best New Actor Award (movie section) in PaekSang yesterday (Apr 25). Not even have time to sleep, perhaps that's why I don't feel comfortable today. Just came back from the hospital and took some medicine... Sometimes encounter allergies during the change of seasons, too..."
Nonethelss, from his voce, RAIN (Jeong Jihun, 25) couldn't hide his excitement after all the good things came together! Rain is nominated by <People> magazine as "The Most Beautiful People 2007". <People> is an entertainment weekly magazine in the States.
Through the telephone interview, Rain said, "It's something that I never dream of but now it happens! I feel honoured and happy for it." Rain added, "It is said that these experiences are quite important in US. It shows that US cares about the influence of Hallyu in Asia. So probably it (the nomination by <People>) can add extra points for me in the future events."
Here's the interview with Rain:
Q: Comments about nomination for "The 100 Most Beautiful People"
A: It's a great honour for me. I can feel the chances are on their way because of this nomination. Before I enter The States with albums or any movies, if the locals can know about me through <People> magazine, that will be quite helpful for my future activities in the entertainment industry.
I would say 50% comes from my luck and another 50% from my efforts. I never dream of it, to be frank! My colleagues are so happy, and because of their assistance that's why I'm able to get nominated~ Well maybe this is my grandest event this year..."
Q: We heard that you had an interview with <People> in the mid of March, so what did you talk about?
A: The nomination was actually not confirmed during interview. According to them, 1000 candidates were firstly shortlisted, followed by further investigation and interviews. They will only announce the finalised result. The interesting part is: Compared to social and political issues during the interview with <Time>, the topics proposed by <People> are cool~ They are mainly about my personal details.
Topics such as how am I going to expand my career in The States as an Asian artist, how to succeed in entertainment industry, etc. The rest 40% questions are about my appearance. For example, what exercise I have, any pimples on my face, any consultation from skin care specialists, etc. I guess maybe because they are looking for 'Beautiful People'..."
Q: This is your first time getting nominated, so you and the male actor of <Prison Break> are both under the category 'First Time Beauties 2007'
A: I've watched some episods of <Prison Break>, it's a nice show. Unfortunately I'm not able to finish it due to my tight working schedule.
Q: Any expectation? Since this is the second time you are nominated in "TIME100 Most Influential People of the Year". So far you're NO.1 in the online voting.
A: I heard some news last year when I was nominated. For some categories such as politicians and revolutionists, the same person can be selected for a few years. Whereas for artists and entertainers, usually they will look for 'newbie' every year.
I can join the "TIME100 Gathering" this year, too. As TIME can issue invitation letter for those who had been selected before, if they ask for it. Of course, it will be much more honourable if you are invited by them."
In your opinion, what have you gained from world tour?
A: Never give up before start, you gotta challenge it! That's the spirit! When you spend 100% effort, it's easier for you to accept the failure. Only those who challenge can succeed.
In fact, we came across problems like 'what can't we have giant stage like American pop stars' during the world tour preparation. It's quite cosy to transport these equipment by airfreight or ship cargos. Unlike Michael Jackson, he can transport the equipment by bus and going around in The States.
On the other hand, I can always feel the cultural difference, especially Islamic and Indian cultures. In Malaysia ladies used to cover their faces, and they can't scream loudly. If they disobey these rules they will get punished and limitations exist. But luckily, we managed to hold a great concert there~
Q: As a winner of The Best New Actor Award (movie section) in PaekSang...
A: It's my dream to get some recognisation from my first movie. The award shows me the possibilities to walk another path (movie) and I may be recognised there, too. I would like to express my endless gratitude for this award. After the award presentation, I met director Park in celebration party, also I got suggestions and advice from Song Kangho (the male lead of <The Host>).
Q: We heard that Louis Vuitton will invite you to Spain in May?
A: Oh it's a yatch competition organised by LV in Spain. Not pretty sure about the exact timing but I was told ??? (艾什頓•庫奇) is also in the invitation list.
Q: What are your future plans, including development in The States?
A: At this point of time, 50% of the world tour was done. So I hope to finish all the tour concerts in the remaining countries (Asian and USA). Well I'm going to share more good news with everyone this year. Please look forward and support me~~

OMG yes! I read the article about him being in the magazine, and I immediately grabbed 5 bucks, walked to the nearest supermarket and bought the magazine xDD I almost never read American magazines, but this is for Rain xP. I surprised my mom though ^^; "I didn't know you were THAT Much of a fangirl"

rain has sooo many votes on the Time thing but still score is low.. why are ppl voting low for him??
Because they don't think he deserves it. I think many people are basing the influence score on the person's influence in America, but if you look at it globally, Rain is VERY influential in other places OUTSIDE of America. He's back up to #3 now, and he also has the most votes >.< It's funny how some people talk about "those silly, obsessed fangirls with no lives sitting at their computer giving him 100s", but this is
worse: People who most likely do not know him sitting at their computers all day for the mean-spirited purpose of trying to bring down a celebrity they "HATE" (for almost no reason other than believing he's overrated/overexposed...>_>). Well, like
nemo123 said, at least it shows how influential he is, as they ARE still voting...^^;;
I'm just afraid of the impression it's going to give people on the TalkBack board...I think the fans should just ignore it when people attack Rain...otherwise it's going to make others think Rain's fans are all childish, immature, stupid [just for not being able to speak/write english as well as they do!] *sigh*
The best part of the interview is his last few words "I am going to share some good news this year" - looks like he will announce it right after the world concert. What is good news to him other than releasing the name of his GF! right? He has waited and waited but he couldnt tell until he has completed his schedules.

^^;; Although many of us hope for something like that, well...it might be a little TOO much, I don't think it's like Rain to brag about a GF ^^;; And also...I can already imagine all the jealous fans *sigh* I'm not sure of this so someone can correct me, but is it true that unilke in America, it's not that great to have a partner in Asia? I mean, is it good for publicity or not? Because when I was reading about other stars, none of them were allowed to be seen with their girlfriends if they had them, and the companies all said that it wasn't good for popularity when a star isn't single? ^^;;
Oh this is just a side question, is the person who always goes "It's JYP, Yo Rain, etc." at the beginning/middle/end of Rain's songs really JYP? I always thought it was some other person that meant "JYP" as the company, because that is REALLY good english.

i don't believe rain has had any plastic surgery. he definitely admitted that he contemplated about doing surgery for his eyes to make them look bigger, but the doctor told him that it was a very complicated process in his case. therefore, he did not go through with it.

He didn’t have a plastic surgery.
He injured his nose when he was young. Being unable to breathe well, he had a surgery to fix the problem in, if i remember well, the april 2005.

Yes, I read it. In addition to the other replies, I would like to add:
The rejections are true. In People magazine Rain said "I never thought I was ugly, but people were just looking for the same formulac look" [I think I spelled that wrong]. It's true, imo, Rain looks a bit different from many other Korean stars, but I like him because of that!
In addition, believe it or not, some people DO think he's ugly [his face] *cough* jealous *cough* [sorry!], but mostly for one reason, his EYES. People think they're "too small", "squinty", "nonexistant", etc. I think that's why, as someone stated above, he might have wanted to have surgery on them. But I admire him for not changing the way he looks, we all think he's great the way he is, right?

Hmm, this is just an estimation, but from my personal experience, if you ask an Asian person...
Question: Is Rain good-looking?
50% OMG YES
25% average/okay/not bad
25& EW NO
something like that ^^;;

Did anyone go to his last one? o_0 thanks!
I just got my ticket for his NYC today!! It start selling online at the madison sq. garden website tomorrow at 10am, but I got the presale promotion code that's y I got to buy it early. I got to say his ticket is expensive!!! It goes from 79, 98, 150, 193, 300!

You can go on the website to see the pricing and the section of the seat costs. I got the $150 seat and my section is 108. Can anyone tell me if you been to his last one if this section is far?? Anyone else is going to his concert at NY? Can't wait to see him! I missed out on his last one because I thought no one wants to go w/ me!
