Rain to Stay Overseas for Now

To the disappointment of many of his fans here, Korean superstar Rain is going to stay in the U.S. for a bit longer.

The decision came after a Korean broadcasting station cancelled its plan to air a performance from Rain’s World Tour. Rain’s agent said that he now has no reason to rush his return to Korea and will stay in America to study English and prepare for his career there.

The agent said that Rain’s decision to remain in the U.S. does not mean that he has abandoned his fans in Korea. He added that Rain just needs more time to adjust to the American environment and master the language before venturing into the American entertainment industry.

07 Dec 04 [inews24] CineAsia International Film Festival To Be Held In Macau (Rain Mentioned)

Top star singer Rain (Jung Ji-hoon) has accepted an official invitation from CineAsia International Film Festival and will visit Macau. CineAsia International Film Festival is sponsored by worldwide media group Nielsen Business Media and will be held on the 4th in Macau.

South Korean and Japanese film and television will share the platform, which includes discussions on Korean and Japanese dramas, film and television materials, news of star trends and most recent popular information.

On the 4th Rain's respective company J.Tune pointed out that he had received an invitation from CineAsia sponsor's Nielsen while he was in Los Angeles.

Nielsen, who has distribution power in the US through special music magazine Billboard and special movie magazine The Hollywood Reporter, also has a special operations research company called Nielsen Media Research. Every year they hold ShoWest, ShowEast, Cinema Expo International and CineAsia, among 4 other movie events, but CineAsia is the only film festival to be held in Asia.

CineAsia International Film Festival will be held at Macau's Wynn Macau Hotel from the 4th through the 6th. Rain is expected to participate in the activities that are held on the last day of the 6th.

Year 2007 is going to end soon, quite a few Korean stars revealed their Hollywood plan. From Jang Donggun, Jeon Jihyun, Rain to Song Hyekyo, it's no surprise that more and more Korean artists are getting onto the global stage.

Korean super star, Rain finally adjusted his focus on Hollywood from this year onwards. Although the court case of USA world tour was a bad hit, Rain's achievement in filming at least helps him to gain back the confidence. Rain is one of the supporting roles in the Hollywood film <Speed Racer> but it was a very rare opportunity to work with so many famous actors and actresses for a newbie. The film is indeed an excellent experience for Rain.

The staff said that there was a dinner at the ballroom tonight. Bi ate a lot of food, very big appetite.

Bi's English was spoken very well, conversing in English with the staff people around him, and also had a conversation with a Caucasian guy from the conference.
