Sang Doo! Let's Go To School (2003) had good ratings but Full House (2004), in which he costarred with Song Hye Gyo, was much more popular. The story is based on a manhwa about a girl who marries an actor while trying to get back her house.

In his most recent and most popular drama, A Love To Kill (2005), Rain portrays a man who works as a bodyguard for a famous actress to take revenge on her for putting his brother into a vegetative state.

"I'm a Cyborg, but that's Ok" which will be premiering on the 7th of next month has elicited much discussions even before it goes on the big screen. This film is a new piece of work by Director park Chan Wook who has just drawn a conclusion to his Vengence Trilogy. and the debut movie of global star, Jeong Jihoon a.k.a Rain. in addition to that, there's the participation of Im Soo Jung who is also known as "the gem of Korean movie industry", adding on the the interest factor of this film.

In the midst of all these, the most interesting tidbit is the kiss scene between Jeong Jihoon and Im Soo Jung. Director park Chan Wook has never liked physical contact between the male and female, and this movie was no difference to him. Although this movie is marketed as a "Romantic Comedy", there is no kiss scene in the script. The leading artistes were outraged. Says Im Soo Jung, "Rain and I discussed about this. No matter what, this is a romantic comedy. How can there be no kiss scenes?" There was a plan of rebel. Having progressed to this stage, Director Park Chan Wook had to surrender to their strong voices of protests.

However, upon rolling of the camera, the control of the scene lies in Director Park's hands. Director Park seemed to be entirely convinced by the two and kept yelling, "More passionate!" Jeong Jihoon laughed and said, "The lack of limit was more of a problem. Director Park wanted us to be kiss so passionately even though we're almost swallowing each other up." However, in this film, a kiss is not considered as a kiss. It is merely an act for Im Soo Jung, who believes that she is a cyborg, to recharge her battery.

Out of all the forums about Rain, to me, this is the best one because I can find all the latest info. and everything about him, so thanks again to everyone who posted so people like me can always enjoy reading about our beloved Bi.

14 Nov: There is a 'somebody' in Rain's heart!!

According to Korean online media MyDaily, in Sang Sang Plus show to be aired 14 Nov, Rain did mention that he would like to kiss with his beloved on Christmas. And also, he revealed that he has someone in his mind!!
Rain attended KBS 2TV <Imagine> which was released on Nov 14 at 11.05pm. In this programme he mentioned that "I have someone in my mind, but haven't told her yet... I'm prepared to love someone but always lack of courage to tell..."
He continued, "If I have a girlfriend, I would like to go shopping with her, buying some clothes. In the evening, watching the beautiful night scenes with her, and enjoy a wonderful dinner..." He really wished to enjoy normal dating like others.
"I heard that there's a place in Seoul (around Ming Dong area) will switch off all lights so that couples can kiss there... I would like to try..." Before he said more, a singer commented, "Go there in this Christmas and you can kiss with Rain..." Immediately the audience laughed~~

I heard that there is going to be a scene in the movie [[I'M A CYBORG BUT IT'S OKAY]] between Bi(Rain) and another girl (OMG! Forgot the name) where the kiss is so...intense...until...I don't know.

nic0lee - are you referring to Im Soo Jung, his leading lady in the movie? I've seen the kissing scene & I won't consider it as intense as what he did in his drama, A Love to Kill with Shin Mi Nah.

wow a part 2.. i have no idea that rain is actually dat famous.. i watched fullhouse and loved it..and just rewatched it again..lol...then i start looking for his music...and it turns out to be pretty gud.. checked out his mv in you tube...impressive dance moves and all... and do u guys realize dat he took off his top all the time..there will always be a half naked scene...lol... i think he's quite a narcist.. well..which star is not...

06.11.14 Absence of super stars in award ceremony, including se7en, RAIN, Lee Hyoree


YG Entertainment (se7en under this company) just announced that their singers won't take part in the musical award ceremony at the end of this year. Also, World Star RAIN might not be able to attend as well. Thus, the ceremony may be dawn & cheerless without these super stars.

According to JYPE spokeman on Nov 14, "Rain is in the middle of world tour preparation, it's quite difficult for him to attend the ceremony..." In fact, due to his tight schedule, Rain could not even attend the first award ceremony, i.e. Mnet KMTV Music Festival.

In a recording session for musical programme, Rain said that he's focusing on the preparation for his concert but yet he still has to catch up with various broadcasting programmes in night time. He hoped that he can pay more efforts in his world tour after the end of his album publicity in Nov.

"Starting from next month, Rain will be preparing his world tour in the following 6 months. Not only concerts, he also has to take care of his health. Since his Las Vegas concerts are held in USA during Christmas, it's quite unlikely that he can attend those domestic award ceremonies..." Rain's world tour shall begin on Dec 15 and 16 at Seoul, followed by Las Vegas and so on... It's a long journey including 12 countries with 35 shows in total.

On the other hand, Rain will meet up with Jamie King for his dance practice and concert production after his Seoul concerts.

MBC announced the cancellation of musical award ceremony

MBC decided to cancel the annual musical award ceremony starting from this year, in replacement, they will plan another special programmes for musics and singers. According to their CEO, "We will not do any award ceremony related to the ranking... instead we will plan a special program to conclude the musical events within year 2006.

"Many super stars announced their absence in musical ceremony recently, the main reason is because the audience have different demands now and they are no longer concern about the ranking of singers..."

Last year, MBC year end program <TOP10> was changed to musical events due to absence of some singers.

06.11.15 RAIN was bullied during high school

Can you imagine a tall and muscular guy like RAIN always get bullied??

Rain participated KBS program yesterday and revealed that he was always bullied during his high school, and it shocked the production crews! Seeing Rain as a muscular and strong guy, it was unbelievable that he is beaten up by others!

During the program, Rain mentioned that there were 5 students who always bullied other students. Rain was one of the victims, too. Although he tried to avoid them but still ended up with being beaten.

One day, Rain had decided to resist and he found one of them to fight one-to-one. However, Rain was beaten again. The student that Rain looked for was actually the son of underworld leader and his brother was kickboxer champion Shocked.gif Even Rain was beaten, the student was touched by Rain's fighting spirit. At the end, they became good friends~

Singer Rain, who is walking towards the World Star status said in the programme "I'm secretly in love with someone." His sudden declaration of love attracted attention.
On the 14th, Rain revealed that "I'm currently in love with someone. I don't know how the other person feels, so I'm hesitating on my declaration," during KBS2TV's programme "Sang Sang Plus".
Towards the host's question of "If you have a girlfriend, what would you like to do with her", Rain describes how his date would go: "I want to walk on the streets and eat ice-cream with her. After dinner, we can go dance happily at a club."
Following that, he said, "What I want to do most on a date is to hire a boat, watch "Titanic" or "Nottinghill", followed by a pre-arranged proposal video that declares after the movie "I love you", Rain plans his public declaration of love.
But that's only the second plan. "I can't tell anyone the first plan," keeping it a secret. However, for the sake of the longing hosts, he revealed his wish, "As for this, I believe nobody has done it before. In Myeongdong, lights are witched off for a while in Myeongdong so lovers can kiss. I'll like to try that."
The hosts didn't keep quiet. They pressed on with "Then you have someone whom you'll like to kiss?" and began to probe if the girl who he didn't declare his love to is still around. Rain replied, "I've always been secretly in love. Whether she's interested, how am I going to declare my love to her, or what kind of reaction will I get after declaring my love, I really have no idea", said Rain, who hinted that the person he is secretly in love with is still in existence.
Following that, the hosts asked, "Is she older than you?" for a more concrete answer, but Rain said, "this I cannot tell," showing how careful he is about this one-sided love issue. The host continued and said, "Who knows? Maybe on Christmas Day, we'll be able to bump into Rain kissing in Myeongdong. When passing by Myeongdong, please open your eyes wide!" creating a round of laughter among all on stage.
In addition, on the programme, Rain also revealed a small tidbit about him being chosen as "Times 100 most influential people". In order to brag to others, he bought 10 of the magazine, and even wanted to frame the magazines up in his bookstore.

Actor Rain


In his latest film, director Park Chan-wook has chosen love as his subject matter instead of his usual theme of revenge. The main actor of the film, Jeong Ji-hoon, also known as "Rain," also made an interesting choice: film instead of TV soap operas.

His film debut is drawing a lot of attention. The movie has not yet been released, so his performance in the movie will be judged later. But after a four year TV career as a singer and an actor, his screen debut as the main actor of "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK" directed by Park is stimulating the curiosity of movie-goers.

He may have felt pressure, expectations, and challenge. But when he was interviewed, what he mentioned first was about how great director Park waIs.

"What do I think about Park? He is the consummate Korean movie director. Many people asked me about the pressure, but I was just grateful for this opportunity. That was all I felt during the shooting. As you may know Park is really kind and gentle. He didn't criticize me much and I had fun."

The first thing he had to do as a film actor was to forget his persona as a singer "Rain."

The first thing he had to do for the role was to shake off the image of pop star Rain. He played a role as deranged Park Il-soon and had to hide his voluptuous muscular body beneath a baggy patient gown in the movie. His messy hair also expressed the extraordinary character he played, similar to the way actress Kang Hye-jeong did when she was featured in the movie "Welcome to Dongmakgol." He learned to yodel from singer Seo Young-rul to sink into his role as one who mimics others’ talents, like yodeling and playing ping-pong. Given this, it is not like he gained his film opportunity for nothing. What else did he do for the movie? He answered properly as usual.

"It is not like I got the idea from other films or novels. I was just immersed in the role. I was Park Il-soon, not Jung Ji-hoon, during the shooting. That’s how I forgot my ego as a singer."

He said he had no accidents or funny incidents during the shooting. The atmosphere was so quiet that it made him feel confused whether he was on the movie set. But he said he only had pleasant memories. He almost seemed to murmur like Park Il-soon, "I am a new comer, but I was OK."

The UK track listing appears somewhat different from the US track listing. This is due to marketing reasons. However the track listing can be changed at anytime. It was stated by Omarion that "Man Up" featuring Korean R&B singer, Rain, would be the third or forth single taken from the album.

Rain attended a programme by KBS 2 TV <Imagine>. Regarding his partner in , Rain lifted up his thumb and strongly agreed that Im Soojung is very beautiful~

Another question for Rain "Who is more beautiful?" by comparing Rain's partner, Song Hye Kyo in <Full> and Im Soojung, obviously this was tougher for Rain to answer .

"I'm always being asked about this, but for myself, I do think both of them are quite pretty and they have different style of charisma... It's hard to compare indeed... However, both ladies like <Imagine>..."

RAIN BROUGHT FOOD FOR SONG HYE GYO






Bi went to Song hyegyo's filming site(Movie Hwangjini)



On his upcoming movie "Cyborg but it's ok' which will be shown next month,He visited the filming site of the Movie "Hwang jini" which Song hyegyo is starring in,and gave her a lunchbox.

Rain made/prepared the food himself and went to The filming location at Yong-in Kyonggido,On 10th of november 11pm.

Everyone was eating snack at the moment when Rain arrived,and greeted the staff and handed the bag(food) to Song hyegyo.

The staff specially the girls who were there were envious of SHG,as a sign of appreciation and thank's SHG accompany Rain to the parking lot.

The news about Rain liking a girl was actually in a Chinese newspaper article I read a few weeks ago. It was very short so I didnt pay much attention to it. Didn't know he was going to tell her when the lights come on on Christmas (was that wat someone said?) Well, the article didnt say that bit but did mention that it was one of his designers. One of the women who dress him. He liked her for a while but found out that she's married so he kept it to himself.

I'll try to find the article and scan it but dont hold it to my words just in case my mother threw out the paper. I'm not sure if it's a rumor either ... you know how news papers and magazines are quite gossipy. I'll only believe if he DOES declare his love on Christmas 'when the lights go on'

Yeah Man Up is not on the US cd of Omarion it's only on the UK one but Omarion can still make a video for the song..since he says it's gonna be his next single out..then it'll only be right to make a video for it..
It'll help bring Rain more into the US public eye..

If Omarion makes a video for Man Up and of course since Rain is his boy he'll have Rain in the video (it's only right to have him..duh)..then this will help Rain alot in America...not just for the asian commuinty but for everyone in general...everyone will take notice of Rain and his style...

Singer Rain (original name: Jeong Jihoon) discloses his inferior complex about his single eyelids.

While participating in MBC TV's "Come and Play", Rain said, "I went to a plastic surgeon because of my eyes. But I was told that the structure of my eyes don't allow me to do the double eyelid operation"

"It's not because I have no fats in my lids, but because my eyes were protruding, giving them a weird, swollen appearance. They will be difficult to operate on. If I want to have my operation done, I'll need to cut a hole in my skull and withdraw my protuding eyes a little. That will be insanely expensive. Rain, who has the body of a westerner if not counting his single eyelids, decided to go for plastic surgery because JY Park said his eyes were lifeless onstage.

Kim Tae Woo, who was in the show with him, consoled Rain saying, "At least he wanted Rain to go for operation. He had one look at my eyes and immediately asked me to put on my glasses." Then, he looked into the camera and said to JY Park, "We're all under the same agency. Why are some people asked to go for operations while others are asked to put on glasses?"

After that, he added, "When Rain was making his debut, g.o.d's popularity was at its peak and made some big bucks. The agency's financial situation became better because of that. So they took the money g.o.d made and gave it to Rain for double eyelid surgery." That comment elicited a round of laughter from the audiences.

Rain said, "In comparison to women, I still like food better!"

"This is the result of Park So-and-So (JY Park)'s strict training and starving of the trainees! In particular, singers under that agency share a common trait--If they look down or unhappy, simply offer them some food and they immediately cheer up and start laughing again."

This programme which Rain and Kim Tae Woo appeared in will be broadcasted on SBS on 3rd November at 9.55pm (Korea time).

9th November, 11am. Movie "I'm a Cyborg but that's Ok" press conference was held at Imperial Palace Hotel, Seoul. Well-known director Pak Chan Wook appeared at the event together with leading actress Im Soo Jung and leading actor Jeong Jihoon. Pak Chan Wook, Rain and Im Soo Jung can be viewed as three of the most popular figures in the Korean entertainment industry today. This point alone was sufficient to attract the media's attention.

"I'm a Cyborg but that's Ok" is a romantic comedy which speaks of a love story based in an asylum between a girl, Young-gun (played by Im Soo Jung) who thinks she's a cyborg, and a guy, Il-sun, who does not care that Young-gun is a cyborg.

Director Pak enjoys significant popularity overseas because of the two movies directed, "Sympathy for Lady Vengence" and "Old Boy". The movie this time is entirely different from Director pak's usual style. It is a movie filled with elements of science fiction and romance. During the press conference, Director Pak expressed that he has been wanting to do a new movie with an entirely fresh concept that is more light-hearted. He is filled with anticipation for this new piece of work.

The other limelight of this movie is the participation of the Korean entertainment industry's "heavenly king and queen". Im Soo Jung's popularity has been surging in Korea recently, while Rain's singing performance career is at its peak. Im Soo Jung joked and said that she plays a girl who has mental problems. Since nobody is able to understand her, she can act in whichever weird ways she likes. Rain continued to maintain his gentle and humble demeanor and said, "I'm very happy to be working with Director Park and Im Soo Jung. I'm grateful to the crew members who gave him plenty of assistance. We believe the partnership between the two will ignite much brilliant sparks.

Q: You have many scenes in the movie when you mumble to yourself. Do you do that normally?

Im Soo Jung: I don't have that habit (laughs)! At the beginning, I didn't know how I was going to act this part. Later, Director Pak told me to imagine that I'm actually a cyborg who is only capable of communicating with lifeless people, to imagine non-living things as living friends.

Q: What did you gain from the process of filming this movie?

Jeong Jihoon: The movie woke up many dusty memories of mine. The side of my character which has been ignored has surfaced once again. Il-sun's stubborness, cuteness, youthful rashness and innocence belong to a side of me which I rarely show. Through the playing of this character, I found myself again. Also, Il-sun is a guy with a strong sense of responsibility. He's always looking out for others. This is something that touches me very much.

Q: Please tell us why you decided to cast Rain and Im Soo Jung?

Pak Chan Wook: I've always been hoping for a chance to rope Rain in for my project. The first time I saw him was at the voice-dubbing session for "Sympathy for Lady Vengence". He was there to look for Lee Young-Ae, and was quietly watching us work from aside, secretly learning. At that time, I thought to myself, "A hardworking young man as such will most certainly make it big one day. Although I've never found the right opportunity for us to work together, but I've never stopped paying attention to him. Im Soo Jung is one of the female actresses whom I like a lot. In particular, her performance in the drama serial "School 4" left a deep impression on me. I've always been monitoring her progress. Through the years, her acting has matured significantly. When I decided to do a project with a youthful theme, she's the first person I thought of.

Q: What is the message you are hoping to convey to viewers through this movie?

Jeong Jihoon: I hope that after watching this movie, people will look forward to a wonderful life from the bottom of their hearts, and pay more concern to mental patients. We often discriminate against mental patients, but the truth is, they are a lot more simple and innocent compare to us. They possess the utmost innocence qualities of normal people. We shouldn't discriminate against and give up on them. Instead, we should give them more concern.

Q: The OST of this movie "Lullaby" is performed by you. It's very nice.

Jeong Jihoon: This is the first time I'm singing a lullaby since my debut. Lullabies are not difficult to sing, but the person singing it must sing it from his/ her heart. You need to sing it with a heart full of love to console the person you love deeply.

Lately, Rain and Song Hye Kyo's frequent contact has renewed a round of rumours. Media and viewers alike have been guessing if the mystery girl mentioned by Rain is indeed Song.

Rain and Song began their fate in 2004, in the drama "Full House" which achieved 40% viewership in Korea. Although one and a half year has gone by, the Full House crew, including Rain and Song are still in frequent contact, there emerged close friendship bonds.

According to an inside source, the production crew meets up for a gathering once every two months where Director Pyo participates in the gathering as well. According to Director Pyo, "The atmosphere while we were filming was very good, and the actors grew to be very close. They've been meeting up with each other very often lately, and they share a very close relationship." This gathering was suggested by Director Pyo. Now, as actors grew closer to each other, their own-arranged activities become more frequent.

Rain, who is now busy with his world tour, had visited Song at the filming site of "Hwang Jin-I" and brought her a lunchbox. This created much speculations within the media and audiences. Because of this, both agencies are stressing that the two are merely friends, and are not of the kind of relationship everybody is speculating about.
