Hi guys! I usually lurk in the ArJoe forum, but I popped on to Youtube today and saw a small segment that Joe shot for On.CC (I'm assuming it's some kind of Chinese media) and thought I would translate it for those that want to know a little bit more about Joe's thoughts on family. It didn't have anything specific about his love life or anything (a very hot topic apparently...

) but since is forum seems so slow, I thought that this would gives you guys some food for thought.
It's a very loose translation, but I did my best (thank god three years of chinese in college was worth something!)
Here's the interview from Kikki04 on Youtube: youtube.com/watch?v=5IK5FO29qAo (cut and paste into your browswer)
I sketched out the dialogue in Chinese first:
鄭元暢
最難忘的吻
現實生活中最難忘的一個吻。。。
跟爸爸媽媽的吻
跟小寶貝的吻
小寶貝很香
小嬰兒很香
大家可以去試試看
假如家裡有小寶貝的話可以親一下
(missing a line or two here, was too lazy to go back and write it, sorry!)
And here's the translation!

Joe Cheng
The hardest kiss to forget
Actually, the hardest kiss to forget in life...
Is the one from your dad and mom.
A kiss with a precious child...
A precious child is very fragrant
A baby is very fragrant
Everyone can try and see!
If your family has children, you can kiss them
If not, then you can kiss whomever you want to kiss
The happiness that I want to pursue...
Actually, the happiness I want to pursue is very simple.
I hope that can be without worries and anxieties, and be excellent (that is, he wants to have an excellent life, without worries or anxieties)!
Also, [I wish that] the person I love most or family or friends,
All together don't need to be worried about money, or other...
Everyone doesn't have to worry over fame and wealth.
Just life a life of leisure and ease on a small island,
and it would also be best if it had a beach.
I think this kind of picture (his view on what a happy life is)
Has already constructed a very, very, very happy picture of life.
Therefore, [in regards to] the question you just asked me (he's talking to the interviewer)
I have thought of another happy picture.
Actually...
Maybe... at a subway station's
public square
where people come and go
(this part gets a little fuzzy because I'm just loosely interpreting it)
I will bring my wife
and on my left I will be holding on to my child's hand
While my wife pushes a baby carriage.
In this way we will merge into the crowd (these few lines were also loosely translated...).
This picture, in my opinion,
is also quite happy.
--------------------------------
The reason why I wanted to post this is because I (as are many of you) am well aware of how much family and friends (and lovers...) mean to Joe. Therefore, I thought that this little interview was very demonstrative of that, and it gives a little more insight into just how much he treasures such relationships. Because it didn't mention specific names *coughArielcough* I'm posting it here as a little slice of Joe's thoughts on the life, relationships, and family, interpretted by me.
I thought it was very cute and completely filial (also one of his better responses in dodging the "who are you most attracted to/in a relationship with" question) of him to think that his most memorable kiss(es) is from his parents, and furthermore, that the best kisses are with babies/small children because they have this very milky, "baby" smell to them. (I initially translated it as "fragrant" because I am hardpressed to find a word that can really translate to what he means. In American English, a baby's unique smell is considered "milky" and "powdery," to name a few descriptives.) When he later paints a picture of his ideal life, he has a wife and children - with the underlying idea that this is all he needs.
這麼甜蜜阿! (How sweet!)
I'm not sure if I should share this tidbit over at the ArJoe forum for them to dissect, but I know it definitely belongs here. Enjoy!
