Yes and in fact, she'll be releasing a new one this year, for any fans of her singing. I personally like Vicki more as an actress, but it's still exciting news. She must be busy, recording albums and studying and acting.

I actually like Vicki's voice, though it's weak, but it's unique and pleasant to listen to, her voice is very soothing, and it helps me to relax smile.gif
I wouldn't say her voice is great in a sense that it's professional, but it's certainly very special and unique smile.gif

Chen Rong Messages(15/01/2007)
Hi all! First, I want to apologize! by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:13:03

Originally, today's afternoon was planned to record two TV programs, [Tian Xia Nuu Ren] and [Jin Wan], all having studios in Jun Bo. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:15:20

However, Wei was sick when she was promoting Yalu in He Fei and Wu Han. She started to have a fever yesterday. Since we thought that her condition will be bad today, we contacted the programs and expressed our wish we could postpone the recordings. It is until today that we can coordinate with them, so we are not able to inform you guys in time. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:19:28

I know it is difficult to ask for a vacation for many of you, really sorry. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:20:33

Right now, the programs hope that we record next week. I have to see Wei condition before confirming anything. I will inform you at that time. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:25:34

You guys don't have to worry much. A cold has its own cycle. Just have a good rest, and she will get well very soon. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:28:25

Yang Lan is so busy, going abroad next month, so it's hard to adjust the time. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:32:08

Right, [The Postmodern Life of My Aunt] will premiere in March, already confirmed. We will meet again at that time. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:42:08

Wei acted quite good, but it's a pity that her role is a small part. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:44:08

[The Longest Night in Shanghai] will be released in May. It is a very warm-hearted movie. I also like it. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:52:23

Must be really active for the first half of the year, because [Thank You for Having Loved Me] will also be shown around April. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:53:44

Your news is really quick. The ending is changed, a plot is deleted. There is no pregnancy and having a baby girl. It's the need for the censorial administrative. I think this is better. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 13:58:40

Really admire you guys, right, actually she needed to go to Japan to film [Light] last year, but there are some problems on the Japanese side. It is postponed, not yet having a fixed filming schedule. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 14:08:24

Actually, nothing. (We) still have a new movie, no hurry. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 14:14:54

The album must be released this year also, hopefully in summer. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 14:24:49

The title and ending songs of [Thank You for Having Loved Me] are sung by Wei. She had finished her recording, not bad. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 14:58:18

This year should be good. I am so looking forward too. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 15:33:04

Sorry! Cannot chat more! I have to go outside, 88. by Chen Rong on 15/01/2007 at 15:52:08

Really? Wow that was new until I read your post. =) I think the same - I hope, if that is really her boyfriend, he'd treat her nicely. Man...I wish she's dating Alec Su. He looks really nice.

Here's the pic though it's kinda dark, can't see clearly but according the article he's ping pong athlete.

Here's the article I copied from the Star East Asia Entertainment News.

China artist Vicki Zhao was caught in picture with China ping pong star Wang Liqing.
http://news.stareastasia.com/wp-content/up...o-news-0005.jpg
The press speculated that the couple has been together for almost 6 months. Vicki’s agent however denied the rumor, stating that they are just good friends and know each other since 2000 in a post-Olympic celebration (Wang Liqin was a gold medalist in that Olympic).

I don't believe that Vicki has a new bf, because it was denied...unless Vicki herself confirms it, otherwise it's all just speculation...if she really does have a new bf, I just hope he treats her alot better than her previous 2 bfs!

Actress Zhao Wei [Photo: sohu.com]

Mainland actress Zhao Wei and actor Zhang Fengyi have both been confirmed to star in Hong Kong director John Woo's movie "Battle of the Red Cliff".

Zhao Wei will play Sun Shangxiang, the little sister of Sun Quan, the emperor of the Wu Kingdom. Despite only playing the role of a supporting actor, Zhao Wei says hers is an interesting character, offering her great space to develop her performance.

Mainland actor Zhang Fengyi has replaced Japanese heart throb Ken Watanabe to play the historical character of Cao Cao in the hit.

John Woo has assembled all-star cast for the big production as early as in last year. The 50-million-dollar film will star some of China's most highly acclaimed actors, including Chow Yun-Fat and Tony Leung from Hong Kong, as well as Chiling Lin from Taiwan.

The movie will begin shooting next month in Hebei and is set to premiere in Olympic year, 2008

No, I think she's alright. Better than being too skinny. She looked anorexic to me until I saw her picture at the Charity Gala Event - she looks great IMHO

IPB Image

Remember the early or late 90s? Most actresses didn't look really skinny. That's healthy standard, not skinny, not fat either.

Would you please give the full links? I couldn't get there. Thanks.

I can't wait for this new movie! It's been so long since Vicki teamed up with Tony Leung! And she'll be working with CYF as well! so cool! yeah.gif the only set back about this movie is Lin Chiling...don't even know why she was chosen, she's not even an actress! I guess this would probably be her debut acting performance then...
liyungbin
Same here. I think the movie sounds awesome with great cast. Glad to hear the project has dismissed Watanabe Ken. Since this is about Wu, this should be played by Chinese people IMHO. Made by and for Chinese. China has millions people that could be hired. Let alone foreigners.

This article is about a film, for the historical battle see Battle of Red Cliffs
Red Cliff (Chinese: 赤壁) is the highly anticipated John Woo film based on the events of Three Kingdoms period, specifically the Battle of Red Cliffs, as portrayed in historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. The movie will be filmed in Hebei, China and is expected to be released sometime in 2008, possibly being used to help promote the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

With an estimated budget of $36,000,000, it will be John Woo's most ambitious move yet, perhaps producing his magnum opus. Some critics are concerned that such a high profile production will be difficult for Woo considering it marks his return to Chinese filmmaking following a wave of American movies.

The main parts assigned so far are for Tony Leung Chiu Wai to play as Zhuge Liang, the strategist and mastermind of the Kingdom of Shu, Chow Yun Fat to play as Zhou Yu, the strategist of the Kingdom of Wu, Chi-ling Lin to play as Xiao Qiao, the wife of Zhou Yu. Taiwanese Chang Chen will be Sun Quan. It is rumoured that Cao Cao, the ambitious leader of the Kingdom of Wei, who will not be portrayed as the villain as in the novel, will be played by the mainland actor Zhang Fengyi. In recent news, Zhao Wei is confirmed to take the role of Sun Shangxiang, Sun Quan's sister, and later Liu Bei's wife.[1]

In the initial stages of casting, Ken Watanabe was selected for the character Cao Cao. Questions have been raised by critics as to the casting of Ken Watanabe, a Japanese actor, in an ancient Chinese film.[citation needed] When questioned about it, John Woo admits to the inaccuracy but claims it shall not affect the outcome of the movie.[citation needed] However, Zhang Fengyi later replaced Ken Watanabe to play Cao Cao instead.

Taiwanese supermodel Chi-ling Lin is expected to be the major feature of this film, since this is the supermodel's first movie, and people expect her to follow the footsteps of Zhang Ziyi to gain international fame.

Besinde filming "Battle of Red Cliff" and music album, I believe Vicki have other project to be film.

Some new "old" picture of Vicki from an article I found recently online. Some of the those pics are pretty crazy. Enjoy!

Before her big break, Vicki Zhao once filmed an MV for Michael Zhen. Fans have dug out their old, intimate pictures.

IPB Image
Online fans discovered that Michael Zhen's old song 《门》MV's female lead was Vicki Zhao before shooting to fame.

Vicki Zhao should have made this MV before the days of Huan Zhu Ge Ge. At that time, Vicki has probably made a small reputation for herself after filming Sisters in Beijing. In the MV, Vicki still has long hair and her baby fat. Even though she has on the heavy makeup popular then, it does not hide her bubbly, energetic personality.

No, she was even younger than that...HZGG was first released in 1997, so she was around 21 yrs old at that time...but they probably filmed it in 1996, which means she was 20 when they filmed it...if that mv was before HZGG, then she was probably around 18-20 yrs old at that time.

yeah, I think about 18-20, but she was really older than that age in these pics, just because she let her hair hang and make up too dark. Though, shes still beautiful.

**lover**789
wow! official cast, huh? I'm still a little miffed that lin chi ling is going to be in this movie...but I will try to ignore her and watch the movie for Vicki. I wonder who You Young is. Anyone have a picture? Too bad Vicki and Chang Chen are siblings in this movie. They were uber cute in Chinese Odyssey!
I think Vicki's schedule with studying and classes may only allow her to take up a supporting role. Kinda disappointing but that's ok. The cast looks amazing though, with the exception of one particular lady. This will be Vicki's second time working with Chow Yun Fat!!! Exciting! and Hu Jun too!
I really hope this movie turns out to be entertaining and not just another massive jumble of special effects and exaggerated costumes/set/music/everything except for plot. I'm really tired of Zhang Yi Mou type films, so I'm kinda worried about this film turning out like that. Romance of the Kingdoms is an amazing story, so they will hopefully not mess it up!
