I think they're great. I have my hesitations about the meaning of their name (it's something along the lines of "Rising gods of the East (meaning Asia")... but I think the're fantastic. They're all hot... five is a good number (not too many, not too little)... they all have their talents and all balance each other out nicely.

Their singing is great-- very rare to find a boyband/group or any kind of group where ALL the members are fantastic singers. Their dancing is just plain schmexy... all five of them... and each one of them has their own personal attributes that make them attractive. So, I'd be hardpressed to find a group that appeals to MY tastes as thoroughly as TVXQ. Other people may have different tastes, so I can't judge for them... but I think they're great.!



I do remember my intial reactions to TVXQ though, and they weren't very good. ACTUALLY, I think the first time that I'd even ever heard of them was when I was surfing youtube for BoA videos (I was on a bit of BoA high back then) and saw the Tri-Angle video. I didn't know who they were, had no idea... but I thought it was really cool. Actually, my exact reaction was, "WHOA! Anime bishounen (hot *kinda girly'ish* guys) in real life!!!!! >squee<!" But then I didn't pursue it cause I was a bit turned off by the hard, kinda gothic theme of the video.

Then, cause of modding duties, I actually started visitng the TVXQ thread that we have at AF to clean it up. At first it was strictly professional, I didn't look at the pictures (and I couldn't understand the !fangirly! obsessions)... Then I think I started to listen to Jang Ri In's "Timeless" with Xiah... and I was like "WhoA. he's a REALLY good singer!" So with that, I was like "Well, just for hearing him sing, I think I'll go look into this TVXQ a bit more..."

And then time rolled around where I had to set up pt.2 of the TVXQ thread with their profiles and a good first post... and it wasn't as much of a chore as one would expect... And well... i've been pretty into them since then. I enjoy their acappellas and live performances more than anything though. Although, personally, I consider myself a fan of TVXQ only because I just happen to like their songs and think they're pretty. not much more.

I think they're really cool and very talented people.

I highly doubt they're be many people that dislike them because...
(1) They're very vocally talented.
(2) They're humble.
(3) They can dance reall good!
(4) They're handsome too.

I think people need to look and hear their performances before juding them and saying that they are overrated. I know they are labeled as a "boyband" and as an "idol group",... so people automatically assume that they are going to suck and talentless. But seriously they are so much more than that because each member has their own style, talent, etc etc.. not to mention they are uber hard-workers and uber humble!!

Let's not forget that they all have AMAZING VOCAL skills and DANCe Skills. They aren't like any other boybands that soley rely on their looks... cause they have mad talents. DBSK can really sing LIVE really really well!!^^ and to top that, they can SING LIVE and Dance(to really rigorous choreography) at the same time really well too!!! what other boyband can do that?

TO be honest, before DBSK, I never NEVEr liked a boyand before... I also (embarrasing) but thought boybands were overrated and talentless. When I first saw DBSK, i was like "man, another stupid boyband!"
But I think to people who don't know or don't like them, it's worth to at least check them out! ^^

For fans out there, i HAVE listened to them and believe they are talented. However, I prefer them doing acapello or focus more on singing then doing weird fashion and dancing. F*CKing Sm Town are turning them into another H.O.T, and i don't find that original lor specila at all

They do choreograph their freestyle..and I think they have choreographed some dances. And I think Mickey has written some songs as well..though I dunno if any of the other members have.

Yeap. Fans are scary. Especially of most Korean popstars. I think they're the most aggressive that I have ever seen/heard of... ever. They're SCARY.

Anyways, I won't praise them to high heaven... but unlike some other Korean stars that I have encountered... they still have a very "fresh" look about them. They don't look jaded, cynical, or arrogant/conceited as many stars get after they've been in the biz for awhile.

As for the "hardworkers" part... I'm not too sure they're anything special. All celebrities have to work hard onstage and offstage... so meh. Surprisingly though, not too many people have too many bad things to say about them.

SM Town has found a "formula" that works for churning out successful popstars/idols... which is why TVXQ is such a huge hit. They have found five boys that are all uniquely attractive, have won in different 'categories' in order to create the 'ultimate' boyband. Yunho won for dancing; Hero won for best looking; Xiah won for best singing (I think he's the one that balances the group out the best singing-wise. He was also the last one to join TVXQ); Changmin and Micky also got in because of their singing skills (Changmin for his higher range and Micky for his lower range).

Thankfully, maybe because I'm not such a big fan, but SM Town doesn't seem to put a lot of intense focus on them and lets their talents carry them far... not necessarily much else.

I don't think there will be that many DBSK dislikers, especially with the females...however, maybe with some males. They are an awesome group, but I only like two of their songs from their recent album. The rest of the songs are a bit boring for me. I enjoy their songs from their past albums more.

Anyway, I like them, I think each members had their own strength and weaknesses but when they are to perform as TVXQ as a group, their performances are excellent [Yes, ofcourse, ther are times where their performances ain't that great] ; I like their chemistry and despsite only knowing each member for not quite a long time as compared to other groups like Shinhwa, I like how their strong friendship was! Their voice harmonies with each other when singing the chorus of the song, but that's expected since they are trianed to become an a capella group
They are well-mannered to the elders and are eager to learn which they have the atitudes that not many newbies in the showbiz have nowadays
hmm... I quite enjoy most of their songs in their lastest album espeically the fact that they are rushed to record this album for only.. 2 months They focus more on ballads this time round but it is still good although the song that makes me repeating the whole album could be 'O' Jung.Ban.Hab

Why do we express and waste time on LOVING something/someone who doesn't even know our existence?

SO therefore, I dont' buy that excuse, " U hate them cause u are all jealous". Don't get me wrong, i am pretty sure some guys/girls out there are jealous of their status, but not all haters take"jealouss" asa reason.

I just don't like it when they use the "You hate them 'cause you're jealous" reasoning as a blanket statement. Yes, all the people who do not !LOVE! <3 <3 <3 and !FANGIRL! I think using the "love/hate" verbs for any idol/celebrity is too strong. I LOVE DBSK-THE IDOL. Do I love DBSK-THE BOYS? Well, I don't know. Never met them, can't really say.

Yeah, you are right too. I guess I only looked at one extreme side. But personally, I don't waste my time hating on others. I can dislike something, but after that i don't continue on ranting about how much i dislike that person or something, I just don't care about it or i avoid them. And I believe that's what most people do. To Love something and to Hate something are two extreme cases. And they are rare.

But for people who love DBSK, obviously DBSK don't know them personally, but (for the fans) they give the fans happiness through their performances, and music. whenever i hear their music, I feel distressed after working and going to classes, etc. So they do affect me personally and improved my...say, "daily performances"?. but to haters, by hating, does it improve say.. your, "daily performances?"

from my experience, by spending time and wasting time on loving someone like DBSK, i've met some of the greatest friends who have same interest as me. And sounds idiotic, but we're planning a trip to see DBSK. I think it's good to have something you very much look forward to when you are so stressed with schoolwork and parents nagging on you, etc. But i guess you could also say you can find your greatest friend by hating others, you know like "anti-fan clubs". you can find your friends through that. i am not sure if that's true or holds any good intention.

Also, for others, celebrities are like role models. For people who wish to become a part of entertainment business, I think it's a damn good start and i wouldn't call it a waste of time for loving your role model.
Also, DBSK members were fans of H.O.T. They said H.O.T was one of the main reasons why they started out and had a dream to become singers! and i know some people that went to singing/dancing competitions and won money after spending hours and hours looking at dbsk.

But what good does hating someone bring to you? when i look at anti-fan sites, all they say about is how crappy they sing and how they look so fugly. umm.. you at yourselves. are you that much better? plus, i am sure these people have never heard of their singing live. Also, the reason why i say some do hate b.c jealousy is beceause i've noticed with the majority of dbsk's anti-fans was that they are fans of other boyband groups. I was like wtf. they get pissed because dbsk has most fame out of all the boybands.

Funny thing is if you love something(like celebrities), you will obvioulsy search for (videos, music, pictures, etc) it and find it and see it, but the haters do that same exact thing as the lovers!. some will seriously put togehter 30 minutes slide-shows of how much they hate certain person (people who made slide-shows before know that's ALOT of time)

So for fans, i personally wouldn' call it waste of time when it gives you hopes, dreams, and even win Money after looking at your favorite idol. so what positive result or effect does it have for the haters? Also, my question is... does that give that person satisfaction? does it give sense of accomplishement?

Now, I do think hate and love are too strong of words to describe how much you like your idol. i understand if you dislike someone's performances, music, songs, genre, dancing, appearance, b.c trust me! there are tons and tons of artists and celebrities that i dislike! but hate?? .........

Actually I was not attractted to them at first...
When I saw them on screen I was like: "Boybands again..."
The first song that I listen is Rising Sun, then I think they dance well.. but I dont really think they have good voices...
Then another day, I saw Always There... was aired...
At that moment I was like: "wow!! They can sing accapella?!"
Then I was totally amazed... From that day onwards I was onto them....

Yeah, i agree with your comments too!! and i think it is always good to give constructive criticism. Although I am a diehard fan of DBSK, when they do something bad, I critize them! but criticism is needed when you want to improve!!

lol what are you trying to say in the first part? can you be more coherent? anyway i assume the second part of your post is directed towards my comment. why should i be offended that DBSK has fans? lol i know it's my own opinion, i know the fans have their own opinions. quite frankly you're the one who seems to be incensed. i'm guessing you're trying to say something along the lines of people shouldn't hate on artists in the first part right? i'm not hating on DBSK, i said it seemed like they are all nice people, but i simply don't like the way they present themselves physically and their music style. i can understand your justifications for why they've adopted certain kinds of hairstyles, but that doesn't mean it'll look aesthetically pleasing to me. i don't know if the hardcore haters have legit reasons for taking extreme action against artists (your yunho example), but it goes both ways (people who take extreme actions in hopes of getting rid of these artists and people who take extreme actions in hopes of getting closer to their idols).

i slowly started getting into kpop .. thanks to boa.. then i saw one performance of her with tvxq.. it was some mariah carey song .. still i wasnt imressed and i was still a bit freaked out about jj's prettiness and puffy hairstyle.. but i was like 'why not give them a chance..' i searched for more videos of them and before i even know it .. ive memorized hug after like listening to it 5 times... then they dominated the files in my computer.. my videos, my music, my pictures.. its full of tvxq .. and my favorite member ended up being none other than Kim Jae Joong .. well, lesson learned.. don't judge a book by its cover.. ^^ besides their good looks, awesome talent.. i just love them for being them, the dorky pretty-faced guys ..

i wasnt reallly into them when my friend showed me the 'rising sun' mv . i was like okay . yunho is a good dancer and jaejoong is pretty hot. didnt look like a girl there. then i saw 'triangle' i was like . whoa freaky . then i thought jaejoong was soo pretty. better face than a lot of girls . which kinda freaked me out . and then i heard their songs and i was like SH*T . they can sing . and then i found jaejoong to be SOOOOOOOOOO perfect and i felll in love with him along with the rest of the dbsk guys

i love them to death but i wouldn't say i ljust ove them cuz of their looks cuz i was FREAKED OUT by their looks.....they looked soooo much like girls. esp jaejoong. i couldn't even look at his picture cuz it was that scary. but yea i still listened to their songs. and they were getting hotter and more manly looking as they went through changes and now they're just HOT HOT HOT!! <3 and their dancing is soo good i can just sit and watch their performance all day.

For people who don't like them, well it's your personal choice. But no one can deny their talents because they are very very very very very talented.

come on now, just because someone dislikes them doesn't mean he/she is jealous. you may think they're the perfect boyband, but that's your opinion no? not everyone finds them to be attractive. azndgn26 was also right in saying that many teenage girls just like them for their looks.

i agree. everyone has their opinions. you dont have to bash someone just because they dont agree with your opinion or that they dont like some bands as much as you do. and for point 1-5, i think shinhwa has the same qualities too. same for fly to the sky.

i REALLY dont understand how DBSK can be hated . i know there are a lot of good artists in korea . but that doesnt mean dbsk is bad there . they are still super talented. o well . im like obsessed over them . cant find a reason to hate them .

But I know that every artist has haters.
Actually, EVERYONE has haters.
But back to my point, I know they probably seem all perfect and stuff...
But u know, I'm sure there r ppl that dislike them.
