What series are really good to watch right now? I'm more interested in modern time series than ancient.. but i'm willing to watch any of them. I don't keep up with tv series as much as I do with movies.. But lately I've been having an itching to watch some tv series. So if you have any good recommendations I'd love to hear it. recommended to watch Dicey Business. Starring Bobby Au, Jessica hsuen, Micheal Miu & Bosco Wong among the few main actors n actress. They talk abt gambling n challenging to b King of Showhand. And with Bobby & Jessica Hsuen, there is comedy within this series. And with the cool look of Micheal Miu, becoming the bad buy(the 1st time i see)

Face to fate is nice... Raymond lam is so hot inside! ^^ a definite recommended drama..

those arent really top good tvb series compared to healing hands, step into the past, and detective investigation files 3 and 4, but go with healing hands 1 if ur looking for a good show

I find dicey business BORING because it's about gambling... that is if gambling is your favorite subject - go for it... but I just hate series that is about gambling.

My favorite current series that I highly recommend to you is, "Brink of Law". The actors and actresses are very good and beautiful apart from maybe 1-2.

In "Brink of Law" u get to see the evil side of the cast and the way they protrayed the bad side is soooo funny - you never expected them to be that way.

(NOTE: Some may be old, as in, not just released, it can be released last year, or just a few years ago, but most of them were released between 2003-2006)

Dance of Passion, very good series, but don't fall off on the first episodes, because it gets better eventually

Personnaly i would recommend welcome to the house if u're into comedy and laughter. The stories are different in each episode and the characters are realli funny. If u're into the serious types then there'e the brink of law with lots and lots of motives behind it. Bar benders is good serious with abit of humour and law in it, making it more enjoyable. If u're looking for old classic series, then there's triumph over evel where nick cheung is realli funny. 900 outburst with Deric wan and full of suspense and mystery. And there's monet can't buy with bobby au-yeung and roger kwok. Dunno wheter u can get this classic series anymore .

Hey everyone! I'm new to the Hong Kong entertainment. I was thinking, since I've watched Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese dramas....why not start a Hong Kong drama too? But barely know anything about Hong Kong dramas. Tell me, what a good SHORT (like 16-20 eps) modern drama? And I'd rather start out with a REALLy popular drama too. Hmm...the sort of dramas that I like are similar to meteor garde...devil beside you...goong..full house...sorta like chick flicky you know? Thanks! I would appreciate it! I really really want to start a Hong Kong drama!

i think its hard to find any with english sub , because mostly mandarin series will be subbed ..
anyway i dont know or its similar to one of the series u named, cause i never seen any.. but i think these are pretty good, ppl with lots of chemistry i think ^^ :
- Love bond (funny loveable series ^^)
- under the canopy of love (about love/career and i think great chemistry between the leadroles)
- war of in laws (mostly funny and also has its sweet scenes between the lead roles ^^ )
- maiden's vow ( about 4 different era's where the 2 lead roles keep coming back and stuff)
- La Femme Desperado (about younger men being together with an older woman)
- and also popular one is dicey business .. (gambling and pretty exciting and also loveable sides of it, because of Bosco+Tavia)
do you like ancient dramas? because these are pretty good:
- Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion (kung fu stuff, but it has to do with 2 different folks who are kinda competing, if i can put it like that >.< but also about love and lots of struggles)
- Face To Fate (also kung fu, but i think you will love all the pairings )
- war and destiny (about the time where china and japan were against eachother.. the pairings were also good)
(i believe these 3 are more than 20 epi's though , but Face to fate is really good series ^^ )
- A Pillow Case of Mystery (its about a man in a pillow who only appears in dreams and someone found that pillow and with that he solves cases .. but theres still love in it ^^ )

and the most recent dramas that ppl are watching now are Heart Of Greed (a must see , its one of the grand productions ) and Change Of Destiny

oh i almost forgot .. my fav's the last breakthrough its kinda old but its really good .. its about doctors actually .. but its special, you have to see it for yourself and another good ancient drama also a bit old, twin of brothers , really likeable

War of In-Laws have english subs but you will have to buy them off of a Vietnamese distributor. This version is not actually retail, it is ripped from the original retail version onto dvd. But it is the ONLY version with English sub and dual language Cantonese/viet dub. The DVD quality is good and the subs are good with only slight mistakes. Each dvd comes with a menu and chapter selection. The only complaint I have is that it comes in plastic dvd covers and not packaged into a box. And the only dvd that has a printed picture on it is the first dvd, the rest are labeled with white labels. I just purchased a copy for myself so that my bf can watch it with me. The drama itself is an ancient drama but it is absolutely worth checking out.

I'm about to go on vacation in Canada, where there are a lot of asians and have a lot of asian markets, and instead of getting Korean dramas, I was thinking why not try some cantonese dramas. The thing is, I don't know a lot of cantonese dramas, but I do know that TVB makes a lot of them. Could anyone give me any good ones that I should definitely try? (It would be nice to include chinese characters and english for the title)

Well, it depends on what genre you like, however I also recommend Triumph in the Sky (æ²â€“ä¸Å é›²éœ„) as well! Other TVB drama series I recommend are Dicey Business (è³­å ´é¢¨é›²), Heart of Greed (æº?å¿Æ’風æÅ¡´), War and Beauty (金æž?欲孽), etc. TVB Grand Productions like Cold Blood Warm Heart (天åÅ“°çâ€?·å…’) (very old series, produced/released early 90's), Secret of the Heart (天åÅ“°è±ªæƒ…), At the Threshold of an Era 1+2 (創ä¸â€“ç´â‚¬ and 創ä¸â€“ç´â‚¬II 天åÅ“°æœ‰æƒ…), Golden Faith (æµ?金歲月), etc.

Wars of In Laws- starring Bosco, Myolie, Liza
Really funny series, makes you laugh your head off. Even though it's an ancient series, it's prob the best one ever, really cute and there is sizzling chemistry between Bosco and Myolie.

Under the Canopy of Love- starring Kevin, Niki and Bosco
So cute! There's really good chemistry between Kevin and Niki. Really good to watch if your're into series that concentrate on the parings and love~ There's a love triangle in this series!

Dicey Business- starring Bobby, Micheal, Jessica, Bosco, Tavia
Great series, it doesn't drag on, has a really good plot and sometimes keeps you on the edge of your seat!

Square Pegs- Roger, Jessica
Anceint series but very funny!!

Life made simple- starring Roger, Jessica
Hilarious comedy! Modern sequel to Square pegs.

War and Destiny- starring Myolie, Ron, Sunny, Mandy
It's anceint, but really nice and touching. Wouldn't really reccomend it for you is you don't enjoy war type plots, but this is a heartbreaker....somehow...

THis is just the start of my list! There are so many series that are worth watching! Maybe look some series up on the internet and see which storylines you like or even people (relatives, guy at the dvd store?) which ones that they would recmmend!

Every summer I always end up watching Golden Faith. How I love this series.

I like the Color something. It about the fashion design industry. pretty interesting

My Date With A Vampire!!! 1-3 Though I prefer the second one, then the first one, and then the third one. Though only the third and second one are really related... It is the absolutely best show I ever watched. Even though it's from ATV...it's like they spend all their budget on it XD! Basically the plot is great, the acting is great, the a characterization is great the only thing that is bad is the special effects (but there's not a lot of those !)

Detective Investigation Files is also good. So is To Catch the Uncatchable, it's absolutely HILARIOUS XD!!! And La Femmes Desperado, that was pretty good show too (I like Sheren Tang !)
