Full Version: Old TVB Studio Haunted?

I remember years ago a friend translated an article for me that I found in either a magazine or online newspaper. It was about all these stars speaking about their own personal experiences in the TVB studio while filming. Anyways since it's been so long, my memory is a bit rusty and the facts may be a bit mixed up but you'd get the point.

Joyce Tang - She spoke about not wanting to go to one of the bathrooms by herself and always had to go with someone. However, she had to really go so she went by herself. Apparently one of the stalls, the last one I think, had that yellow paper on it (like the ones on Chinese zombies) and it was closed. So she went into the other stalls and I think she had no toilet paper. She heard someone come into the stall next to her. She asked for toilet paper and the hand reached over from under and gave it to her. When she was done, she came out and there was nobody in the other stall but she heard nobody leave I think.

Not sure if it was Louis Koo or Gordon Lam Ka-Tung but they were filming late one night and the crew was going to go get something to eat. Anyways Louis or Gordon was tired so they stayed behind to sleep at the set. While he was sleeping, he said that he heard children running and laughing, playing around the area.

They also said that there was one studio that was always cold and chilly. It could have been the air conditioner but they often spotted lots of moths there, which is a symbol of spirits or something in the Chinese culture.

There was also a rumour that in the ancient sets on the top floor (like restaurant area with the open area) actors would see a BODILESS ghost looking or smiling back at them.

Another thing was that TVB used to be a school dormitory or something. Not sure if it was Carlo Ng Ka Lok but it mentioned that he went to one of the cellars once and saw a long haired girl in white.

Anybody hear of stories like that before??

Well that was in the old studio, i believe they moved to a bigger studio (which is the current one they're at) years ago.

I've heard that during TVB's anniversary months, lots of months and other creatures are seen at the studios, more than usual. People used to say they were spirits of deceased actors and actresses coming to celebrate the anniversary.

woah.. i don't get it, they see a headless ghost looking or 'smiling' at them?

dude, can you read it properly.

"There was also a rumour that in the ancient sets on the top floor (like restaurant area with the open area) actors would see a BODILESS ghost looking or smiling back at them."

It's bodiless not headless, big difference.

Oh yeah I've seen this article in a magazine recently saying that actors in tvb never look up when they are in studios and stuff because all the lights located at the ceiling are shining down so ll the ghosts go up to aviod the lights. Also, the article said that cameras that are filming any charity shows or any show that include going into the studios never film the ceiling of the studio because ghosts stay up there and they don't want to film them shocked.gif

lmao that was what i was thinking when i was reading it.

either way, i think many places are haunted. nothign special about that tongue.gif. it just so happened that the tvb studio is haunted. probably because it was an old structure that they were building on ..

I watched this program that claims that ghosts are "curious" in that they will appear in places that might interest them. For instance, a filming lot would be pretty busy and active, so that would be one place they'd take interest in, because they want to see what is going on. I also saw an article online about some actress seeing something behind her when she saw the clip of what she just filmed. But they later proved that it was just an optical illusion.

If it's really haunted then that would make for some great TvB wouldn't say?

i've heard of ghost stories not only in hong kong studios. but also in taiwan studios.
not sure if they are true or not... but they sound so real
chinabean
did they make a movie out of this? or was all this based off of a movie? sounds really familiar...
lting77
i heard there was a very famous movie theater in hong kong that was haunted, supposedly to be formerly a morgue/ cemetary....anyone else can share more info?

0.0 Wow, sounds super-duper creepy. I kinda believe it 'cause technically, there are ghosts everywhere.
I still don't get the part about the ceiling & all though. I mean, how can they be so sure they're all up there if they don't even dare to look up to check if it's really there? Even the cameras won't dare film what's up there? o.0
Guess I'm better off not knowing for sure. Though I really pity those actors & actresses. I mean, they're working at a place where they know they're not safe. Kinda spooky, if you ask me.

I've never heard about this before and it's kind of creepy. The toilet stall incident is =S
sun7630
That is why they always have the blessing ceremony when they begin a new series to burn incest and cut the roast pork. It was said that a lot of things happen if they don't do the blessing process, such as accidents, delays and seeing ghost. Therefore they rather be superstitious than have a lot of incidents.
KFClub
That's pretty scary... Why would there be ghosts in the studio???
SLK
i've heard stories. could be true. spirit is everywhere. up to individual to believe or otherwise
mightymouse
there are spirits everywhere so if one is unlucky then they will see something or bump into something, depends on one luck i guess...
honeycake
woah i've never heard about the tvb studio being hunted....really scary
luvable
I heard about some of the TVB studios are haunted! It'll be scary to work under the haunt conditions. I don't think i want to be working at a place that is haunted but I guess if you're working at TVB, you dont have a choice. SCARY!
