Kim Tae Hee to appear in 'Ssawoom (Quarrel)' as Seol Gyung Gu's wife

Kim Tae Hee who debuted on screen through 'Joongchun (Middle Heaven)' has finalized her appearance in the movie 'Ssawoom.'

Kim Tae Hee's agency Namoo Actors commented on the 9th, "The character was so lively and realistic that we decided to take the role as soon as we received the scenario."

This will be the first time Kim Tae Hee will be acting a married character. Her role is a glass artist who is the wife of a university professor played by Seol Gyung Gu. Also notable is her age difference with the 39 year old actor.

Kim Jong Do, CEO of Namoo Actors, says, "The role being of a married character was not a burden. I believed it to be a good opportunity for Kim Tae Hee to grow as an actress and didn't take long to come to a decision."

He also said, "'Joongchun' was also a piece where she learned a lot from, but the lackluster results actually brought out some regret of the fans. I hope her will to establish herself as an actress rather than a star is delivered."

The movie is by Director Han Ji Seung who also gathered praise for the drama series 'Alone in Love' in drawing the emotions of a divorced couple.

The movie will be about a couple reaching a period of lassitude that is not able to control their emotions and start hurting each other through quarreling, and start realizing the true meaning of love. A couple who does not choose to part displays the disappointment and hatred towards the other through the most simple way of communication, quarreling.

The movie is set to crank in at the end of this month, or the beginning of next.

Thanks, francesca! Wow. The director was the same one who directed Alone In Love. That, my friends, is a great drama. I guess you have to be older to really appreciate it, because a lot of romantic comedy fans thought it was dull and couldn't get through it. I thought it showcased the beauty and everyday life of S Korea. Since I'm in the states, that's what intrigues me most: To see what life is like in a world where our Korean drama heroes roam.

I wonder if you guys have seen Alone In Love. I loved it and was so impressed with it. I'm very interested in seeing how Han Ji Seung influences KTH's performance, and what kind of chemistry he can generate between her and Seol Gyung Gu.

Hopefully this collaboration will make her more of a star, and her fans can see her in another light.

I think I'm now more excited to see that film than to see The Restless..? The pairing up is so intriguing

I've seen Seol Gyung Gu in that movie Lost in Love with Song Yoon Ah. I watched it because I was impressed with her performance in Hotelier. I didn't like the movie though, and I didn't care much for the actor's performances. Maybe it just didn't translate well with me. But it seems that most Korean movies I've seen (as opposed to the dramas) have much less dialogue and develop the characters using a lot of silence. Hmmm... must be me. I can appreciate it, but it can make it a boring/confusing ride.

I don't know Tisa if it's the director who made it just as impressive as you think.. I'm not sure, really. I think I have to give the credit to the actors especially to Son Ye-jin. She's a great great actress! Although I was not able to watch it '

Well, all of them deserve the praise. From the writing, the scenery, the actors and the music, I think it's a wonderful piece of work. It elevates the status of that director and everyone else for being such an instrumental role with the process and the finished product. I'm sure KTH is confident with her decision and is looking forward to expanding her acting skills and resume. After all, it's who you know, what they've done, and with whom you surround yourself that helps you succeed.

A survey was done with 67 TV dramas and variety shows’ producers and directors from the major TV stations (KBS, MBC, SBS) in Korea to choose the most beautiful Korean actress.

Each person was allowed to choose an actress; a total of 23 actresses were named, and Kim Tae-hee came on top with 17 votes.

wowoweee! a lot of conversation going on here. i missed this forum alot.... as in...

been busy lately and my net problem has some problem. i don't know what happened. can't go online for more than a week.

exact same feelings i got when i read who the director is.
but i'm not as old as you but i could appreciate it all the same, it's one of my favorites frm 2006 together with Bad Family (i love Kim Myeong Min!) and Goodbye Solo (i love Chun Jeong Myeong!)

that's how most Kmovies are! but weirdly i enjoy some of them, i think Kmovies make me cry at the ending credits more than Kdramas do.

in any case, i'm very interested in how director Han will bring out the good acting frm KTH since he said in a later article that "it is the director's role to bring out the good acting frm a good actress". hopefully he can stretch her potential further so that she will be able to display the maturity required for the role. he also said he wants to "peel off the goddess image of KTH" frm the mind of the viewers i believe since he feels they only have one image of KTH in their minds.

anyway, i posted up my longer thoughts on the article here if anyone is interested.

Do you remember the behind the scenes in Love Story In Harvard where she had to redo the "slap-outside-of-the-hospital" after some techinical difficulties? That was very professional.

I saw Seol Gyeong Gu in 2 films, most notably Oasis. It's a wonder how anyone could treat that kind of subject matter, twist it and turn it in to a touching story about simple and basic human needs. I agree that KTH can only improve with that kind of experience around her.

It's his job to make it all seamless and to convey to everyone else in production what they all hope to accomplish. That means there's production schedules, weather, money and other obstacles, aside from getting the best performances out of his actors. It's those performances that are most engaging to the audience."

I wonder if it's going to be about a married couple who hate eachother and do funny things to piss eachother off, mixed with occassionally sweet and surprising scenes to illustrate why they were married in the first place. Then later, they'll realize just how much they mean to eachother, fall in love again, and THE END. Hahahaha. Who wrote this script? Cuz, I got it figured out. I mean how else do you expect it to be a "romantic comedy"? Right?

So what are the lovely Kim Tae-hee and hunkie Hyunbin doing in Jeju-do? Is it a secret rendezvous away from prying eyes? Nope, sorry to let you all down. It was strictly business. Both stars were in Korea’s Hawaii at the beginning of the month to shoot a CF for LG Shine mobile phones that will be aired in China.

exactly, i wish that person had left her name or username on forums, at least i know she's quite a Kmovie fan cause most international KTH fans don't even know who Seol Gyeong Gu is. and i really want to know who the fan is.

i dunno who wrote the script, i wish i know, but so far i read that the music director for the movie OST is the director's own wife who's a composer, pianist, singer etc. she had composed track 4 on the Alone In Love OST and some other melodies on the OST as well (not too sure which tracks).

i "skimmed" thru some Korean articles using online translators and some of them are comparing it to "mr & mrs smith" etc but although using different online translators, the korean title of the movie can translate to either "Fight" or "War" also, the director has clarified tht it won't be an action movie, so i dun think it's gonna be like "mr & mrs smith" but closer to your speculation! Tisa can be a Kmovie scriptwriter

i think it's abt a married couple, who after a few yrs of marriage, they grow tired of each other till they feel tht they hate each other but they dun wanna leave each other, so they quarrel, fight roughly with each other, do whatever to piss each other off, but in the comical kinda way to us viewers. well, in the romantic comedy My Sassy Girl, Jeon Ji Hyeon was rough to Cha Tae Hyeon but we laugh it all off maybe also when they fight, they realise tht they are actually enjoying it and feel happy doing it as a couple, erm or maybe they feel that doing it actually helped in enhancing their love for each other?? maybe tht's how they can maintain their marriage haha, i dunno, i can't wait Tisa, thanks for sharing your speculations, ahh makes me feel happy tht someone else is showing interest as well

"Please be careful of breast cancer", top star Kim Tae Hee tells the danger of breast cancer as the Pink Ribbon public relations ambassador.

Kim Tae Hee will attend the Pink Ribbon marathon rally held in Haeundae, Busan on the coming 22nd to encourage the marathon runners.

This rally in its 7th year is a part of the Pink Ribbon campaign to announce to the public the importance of maternity protection and the early diagnosis of breast cancer.

Meanwhile, AMOREPACIFIC which has stood previously for women's health and breast cancer prevention has widely made known the subjectivity and it's importance.

After the strong hope to attend the first rally held this year, it is realised because Kim Tae Hee is an exclusive model of premium brand Hera in AMOREPACIFIC.

Kim Tae Hee said, "It's regrettable to have the understanding that most females are still embarrased to breast cancer. When breast cancer is found early, the completely cured rate is high. It's possible to find an abnormal sign through private medical examinations and it's possible to improve the prevention rate. Recognition should probably be converted even a little through this meet."

On the other hand, the full amount of the marathon rally participation expense of 10,000 won will be contributed to the Korea Breast Cancer Foundation and used for breast cancer prevention and treatment methods development.

Actually, even I'm not yet comfortable seeing/learning that Tae-hee has a boyfriend, I still vote for Rae-won, too! Haha, that's the very first thing sis Mira and I were talking about when I first joined here. I think I gotta stick with it 'till now.

P.S. Tae-hee looks good in that red sweater (?) and short skirt, eh! Ironically, it is sexy and yet it is cute.. Can sexiness and cuteness coexist at the same time? Well, that's Kim Tae-hee!

Japanese Media Extol Kim Tae-hee's Looks and Wit
