i've just finished watching LSIH not long ago, and immediately became KHT fan now, hehehe she did great in there, KTH n KRW have amazing chemistry....love the whole drama

oh same here! i was an immediate kim tae hee fan after i've watched the series! well i already like her after forbidden love but she's so different in LSIH!

star81 : nopes, as far as we knw, she doesn't have any new drama for the moment since she's busying herself with her upcoming movie promotions frm tis mth onwards.... but her movie will only be out December. But Korean news have been linking her with a SBS blockbuster slated for next spring, this SBS drama will be filmed in at least 3 overseas countries (1 in Central Asia).... and the main character is a South Korean woman who immigrated to USA & had lost her parents since young... anyway she became a firearms lobbyist etc & takes revenge.... HOWEVER, KTH's COMPANY has DENIED tht she's casted in this drama & SAID tht she's still examining a couple of offers (tis being 1 of them) and also that she's doing it carefully, so it will take some time.

Neym : KTH is different in LSIH & Forbidden Love & also STH She's also somewhat different in another drama, Screen....

so far, i've only seen two dramas of kim tae hee, and both have different actings! she's so action-packed in forbidden love! hehehe.

she's a versatile actress, she can act in any role...STH as a villian, and n LSIH her role is totally different, but everytime...she did portrayed the role perfectly ^^ tat's wat i love about her...great actress and pretty too, lolz

Her character in there is ONE tht deserves aLOT of slappings keke and she did get at least 2 well deserved slappings in there, one from her father and the other from her brother But she was so so beautiful in there tht instead of hating her, I rooted for her instead haha but she is sooooooo adorable as a spoilt brat and did you know? Her real life younger brother (Lee Wan) acted in STH too, but as the younger version of her older brother in the drama

Anyway, THIS was KTH's 1st ever appearance in STH, when she stepped out of the curtains thingy, she instantly blew me away.... but she was definitely NOT an ANGEL in STH

She made her debut on TV in a SBS sitcom, Let's Go (2002) also starring Lee Dongwook & Lee Sungjin. She's like a tomboy in there and she can fight taekwondo in this Haven't been able to get this sitcom but saw clips of 2 eps.

Then she got the lead in SBS drama SCREEN (summer 2003) with Gong Yoo & Park Jungchul, she was really adorable in this drama abt the movie industry etc. I have this drama but no subs.... KTH had good relationship with her father in here when she's younger after her mother died, but then later on her father also died in a fire, he was a popular movie director.... years later, she's also an aspiring movie person

Then she did a daily drama HEUNGBU (SBS 2003-2004) which ran for 121 episodes.... she was a fashion designer who got married to Yeon Junghoon in this one, I believe she had character transformations in this drama & her hair changed a lot too haha, she had a mature image after she married YJH.... Lee Donggun acted as her supportive elder brother here. Towards the end, she got pregnant haha Also can't get this drama cause it's too long. But heard this was a very gd drama! This is the drama i badly wanna watch

At the same time she did Heungbu, she also did Stairway To Heaven (SBS 2003-2004). In both dramas, her characters were opposite of each other, one day of the week she acted as good girl, another day she acted as bad girl.... lucky Korean viewers got to see her back to back on Mondays/Tuesdays then cause Heungbu ran frm October 2003 to April 2004 on Mondays to Fridays while STH ran on the same channel frm December 2003 to February 2004 Mondays & Tuesdays after Heungbu's timeslot....

After Heungbu ended in April 2004, she did Forbidden Love in summer 2004.... then after 1 mth++ rest, she went to LA to do LSIH frm October 2004 onwards.... so she kinda had a hectic time filming and filming frm summer 2003 all the way to January 2005 when LSIH ended.... after tht she concentrated on her final semester at Uni and her photoshoots/CFs etc before putting all into her movie (6 mths of filming in China) and finally, after so long, we are seeing her MOVIE sooon!!!! Can't wait!!!!

oh yeah, i heard she was a villain in stairway to heaven. hehehe, i haven't actually seen that drama. only bits of it, but i haven't caught a glimpse of kim tae hee there. hehehe. see, from a villain transformed to an angel! very very cool!

hehehe, i thought her younger brother acted as the older brother! lols!

its her eyes that was so noticeable in STH thats wht she played the villain well. i still hope she and hyun bin would have a series soon... i think they would be great together just like in their CF's...

Like gerilyn said yups it's her glaring eyes tht makes most of the difference in STH, and the way she combed her hair all the way back haha. When she told her family and friends that she's taking up the role of the mean girl in STH, they were all concerned cause they said she doesn't have the mean look but she did it anyway cause she didn't wanna pass up such a different role & the chance of working with PD Lee Jangsoo and the huge stars who are acting in the drama, it was a great experience for her Cause she took up this role, the PD got her to star in Love Story In Harvard cause he was kinda impressed with her And somehow in LSIH, her eyes made her look loveable instead


Well I wouldn't mind her acting with Hyun Bin haha cause yups love them in their CF but then, I still wanna see her act with Won Bin too cause their chemistry was so good even in short CFs and also they almost could have been in a drama together in 2005 (according to a Korean article) but a pity he had to go for army and she also had chosen to do the movie The Restless with another hot sexy guy Jung Woosung.

that only proved that korean actors don't only have one kind of roles in dramas. that's what makes actors boring to watch sometimes when you always see them as the protagonist, or the villain. ulike korean actors, you'll see them in different personalities in every series!

i agree neym! its more impressive for an actor/actress to take up different challenging roles than those "SAFE role" to protect a "sweet/kind" image.


i think KTH is lucky enough for her fans always welcome her new roles no matter how "extreme" they are from her previous character and even gain a lot of new fans for doing so...

Has Kim Tae-hee Found a Part That Suits Her at Last?

She walks almost like a model on the catwalk, and though she is reputedly a big eater, she has not an ounce of fat on her. With her flawless cheekbones and perfect image, Kim Tae-hee has become the queen of advertising. But although her acting resume includes tough-girl roles, action and even villainous parts, many say her range as an actress is limited. Acting, indeed, is not the first thing that comes to mind under her wide-eyed sharp glance. Yet perhaps the parts she has played so far have not been the most suitable.

Now she is excited about her first starring role in the film “The Restless”, which opens Dec. 21. “It’s a part made for me,” she says. Her first major work, she has a lot riding on the film, but says she was comfortable and happy throughout shooting, so the hard work never got to her. “The Restless,” is set in an imaginary space conceived at the 49th day rites, the culmination of seven weeks of mourning following a death in Buddhism.

The film is also the directing debut of the Jo Dong-oh, who was assistant director for the classics “Beat” and “The Warriors.” Kim Tae-hee, who, in the film, is the earthly girlfriend of Jeong Woo-sung, plays the angel Sowha. “People don’t see the me that way, but there were many times when I felt inexperienced and empty-headed. Sowha doesn’t preside over anything; rather, she’s like an innocent child.” But no matter how childlike Sohwa may be, she is an angel. Just looking at the costumes that make the characters look as if they could fly off at any minute creates a fantastic, dreamlike atmosphere, not unlike the film “A Chinese Ghost Story.”

“I’m not really as alluring as Joey Wong,” the female led in “A Chinese Ghost Story.” “In one scene I turn to Jeong Woo-sung, who is completely naked, and say, ‘Don’t worry, angels can’t feel lust.’” Often thought of as aloof, Kim gives an easy chuckle at the memory.

She seems like a perfectionist, but she says about herself, “I’m kind of dense and slow-witted.” “I thought I was fine, but as an actor, I sometimes felt that I didn’t have the depth of emotion or the sensitivity required,” she adds. “Now I’m trying to give that a try.” She wants to be a “real” actor. Her pretty-girl face and short stature gave her pause, but she says she plans to turn her weak points into strengths.

“Acting is the path that I have chosen, so it’s something I will spend my life doing,” she says. “Acting is the medium that will help me to become more mature as a person.” It may have taken her a little longer than most to find the clothes that fit her best, but about this role she is confident: “It’s exactly my style.”

Korean, Taiwanese Stars to Compete at Korean Box Office

Korean top actress Kim Tae-hee will have to compete with Taiwanese top actress Suh Qi at the box office in December, when movies starring the two are released simultaneously.

The competition between “The Restless” and “My Wife is a Gangster 3” is tantamount to competition between CJ Entertainment and Showbox, the country’s two largest film distributors. Because CJ and Showbox have earned approximately the same amount of profits from the success of “The King and The Clown” and “The Host,” respectively, the success of the new films will decide the winner of the box office this year.

The competition has already started as the two revealed three-minute previews of their films as part of an event at the Pusan International Film Festival. CJ held an event entitled “Invitation to ‘The Restless’” at the Haeundae Grand Hotel in Pusan (also spelled Busan) on Saturday, while Showbox gave a presentation to introduce its lineup at a nightclub in Haeundae, Pusan on Monday.

“The Restless,” set in an imaginary place in mid-heaven where dead spirits must stay for 49 days, set itself apart with eye-catching computer graphics. Kim impressed viewers with her sharp actions in which she flourished a long sword wearing a loose outfit.

Suh Qi, wearing a traditional Chinese dress, also impressed viewers with her powerful actions in “My Wife is a Gangster 3,” which features a grander scale compared to the previous titles in the series.

Dear gerilyn, this we dunno whether it's confirmed that she'll be taking up the SBS drama, "Lobbyist". If she does take it up, then chances are they will start shooting in Kyrgyzstan in November, so there's no confirmation from her side yet other than media speculation. Yahoo Korea has listed this drama under her profile, however the other Korean search engines have yet to do so, the last I read, her company said she's still examining drama offers.

Hmm, I really wanna see her in a drama again, but I don't know how she'll be able to squeeze that into her schedule unless she really does not want to take a break in between her movie promotion haha. But then again, knowing Tae Hee, she seems to do surprising things, she might just suddenly say she's doing this. But whatever the case, I hope if she chooses this drama, they will wait for her till she's free and available hehe.

Bae Yong-joon, Kim Tae-hee and Kyrgyzstan



Because top stars in South Korea plan to visit Kyrgyzstan of Central Asia one after another, interest is attracted.

Bae Yong-joon is scheduled to leave for Kyrgyzstan in around the middle of October for filming in the country. His 40 billion masterpiece drama 'Taewang-sasingi' will be telecasted first by MBC next year. A domestic filming is advanced. Filming and other schedules are digested beforehand and Bae Yong-joon is preparing to continue filming.

Moreover, the drama 'Lobbyist' (Temporary title), from which Kim Tae-hee was decided informally to be starring in, the possibility of a visit rose while selecting a Kyrgyzstan town as the main location for their filming background. This drama is being examined for organisation with SBS next spring. It was known to start filming in Kyrgyzstan in around November.

The two top stars Bae Yong-joon and Kim Tae-hee seem to be able to encounter Kyrgyzstan by their filming schedules. The filming in Kyrgyzstan was scheduled to be started in September. While the 'Taewang-sasingi' term will extend it's schedule till January, the filming schedule part for 'Lobbyist' came to happen one after another.

The purpose of the reason why two South Korea dramas search for Kyrgyzstan at the same time is for it's natural environment. Kyrgyzstan touches Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan etc in the northern part of Central Asia. Though the population is 1/10 the level of South Korea, it is a place with natural environment and equal races from the Orient and Europe.

Kyrgyzstan was selected because it is a multiethnic nation where even a lot of South Koreans are included in a population which many are Muslims with Europe and Asia in charge. The natural environment you feel of Europe such as perpetual snows of the Swiss Alps is made to be associated with this. Of course, the very low prices compared with that of a European nation's are large factors.

On the other hand, Kyrgyzstan has rapidly surfaced as the filming ground location of South Korea movies and dramas recently. Because it is the country which brought the 'Hanryu/Hallyu/Korean wave' under the influence of the drama 'Winter Sonata', local residents were known to expect the visit of the top stars in Korea such as Bae Yong-joon.
