Soh Ji Sup ( 28) states that he will fulfill his duty of military service around the second half of next year. Soh Ji Sup injured his shoulder in 2002 when he was attending KBS2 Show “Super TV Joyful Sunday (슈퍼TV 일요일은 즐거워)” and he was sent to hospital to have 5 hours surgery. He applied for the issuance of enlistment warrant last year. SJS will leave for Australia on 10/8 to film his next drama “I’m Sorry, I Love You (미안하다,사랑한다)”, and he will return to Korea around mid October. The drama is scheduled to be aired by KBS2 in November.

I think they go for 2 years military service.

that's pretty long........... i asked my Korean friend and she told me two years three months, though before it used to be three years. N if a guy doesn't go for military service, they have to go to jail.....!

05/01 - So Ji-sup Meets with Fans



Actor So Ji-sup met with his fans one month after graduating from army boot camp. So made a surprise appearance at a fan meeting on May 1 at 1 p.m. at the Mapo District Culture and Sports Center in Seoul, which was organized by his fan club “Love So Ji-sup Forever” to celebrate its 5th anniversary. The over 600 of So’s fans who attended the meeting were ecstatic to see their favorite actor in person.

At the meeting, scenes were shown from dramas starring So such as “Sorry, I Love You,” as well as from the making-of film showing the actor posing for a catalog in Japan and holding an autograph-signing event prior to joining the boot camp.

When the show was over, So, who had been watching backstage, appeared holding a cake and singing a congratulatory song. When his fans saw their favorite actor, wearing a black cap and glasses, the venue broke into a loud ovation.

Following a brief Q&A session, So presented his fans with his favorite caps, belt loops and T-shirts. At the end of the meeting, So shook hands with each of the fans and expressed his appreciation.

Members of the fan club impressed So by donating books to physically challenged people on that day and raising money in front of the meeting venue to benefit the needy.

The Netizens have chosen So Ji Sub as the actor they expect the most from after his return from the army.
Digital Lab Research have conducted a national internet poll with 242 participants, running from the 9th till the 13th of the current month, concerning entertainer’s army draft. The results showed So Ji Sub, who enrolled after finishing the drama “I’m Sorry I Love You,” in 1st spot. Among the respondents, 45.0% picked him as the #1 actor they “expect the most from after his return from the army.” Following him was Song Seung Hun (22.7%), Yoon Gae Sang (9.9%), etc.

On the other hand, in the poll asking “which entertainer would you like to stop from getter drafted?” 74.8% answered that ‘all entertainers should serve in the army no matter what.’ Among those who picked a name, Wonbin (15.3%) was chosen as the entertainer they most wish would not be drafted. So Ji-seop to Hold Fan Meeting in Japan



Actor So Ji-seop, who is currently working as a public service agent, will meet with 2,000 Japanese fans at Showa Women¡¯s University in Japan on July 10 at 2 p.m., according to the satellite channel KNTV on June 25.

The event was organized by KNTV to promote the series ¡°Sorry, I Love You,¡± which has been airing in Japan since early this month, and will include a screening of other productions starring the actor, a talk show, a photo album of So, and a prize drawing of ¡°So Ji-seop¡± brand jeans.

KNTV¡¯s website has been accepting applications to attend the event since June 26 on a first-come, first-served basis. The admission fee is 10,000 yen (about 100,000 won) for the first floor and 8,000 yen (about 80,000 won) for the second floor. Everyone who attends the event will be presented with items related to the actor.

Back in April in Japan, KNTV published a photo album of So entitled ¡°The Gift,¡± and on June 4 aired ¡°The So Ji-seop Special,¡± a program about the actor¡¯s entertainment career prior to his army service.
