OK I agree they are not overrated currently but in the past about two years back they were overrated.

Number One: they do not use their looks to gain fans like almost every boyband, it really does NOT matter to anyone that they doesn't look good, althought the DO look good. and what is your definition for passion and sincerity?? they are like one of the really really few artistes in the industry who really really care about their music and not USE music as a stepping stone to achieve fame or any other things. they are really working hard for their dreams and motivating people along the way.. what is wrong with this?? and if you can't feel the soul or emotion, it is not their problem as alot of us can really relate to their songs very well. and i feel that they are really one of the few rock bands who are successful in Asia, after your beloved beyond.

and lastly, if you really love music. please don't slam other artistes down while worshipping your own idol. it will just reflect badly on you. i hope i don't sound too harsh

ive only just recently got into Mayday but they definitely dont lack passion and sincerity and most definitely aren't fake
My favorite band now is Mayday and the thing i admire most about them is their love for music

I think what you are discribing me is exaggerating and meaningless. When did I type about worshipping my idol in this topic? I didn't even type out who is my idol. If you treat the 'Beyond' as my idol when I state about him in previous message, I am really dissapointed with you with such a shallow judgement. you simply judge beyond is my idol just because I use Beyond as comparasion, haha.

And wow, I totally disagree with this. I don't know about being overrated.... Most people I know have heard of other Taiwanese artists like Jolin Tsai and Farenheit and Jay, but don't know of Mayday. I find they are very passionate and sincere when they sing; Ashin's lyrics are just flat-out amazing. They put together a book a while back, I think, and what I really like about the band is that they are simultaneously simple and complex. They have a unique outlook on the world, imo. And Ashin has a wonderful voice, imo.


That has nothing to do with how well they sing or what kind of music they make. They are very successful and they got there because of their talent. Which is awesome and I'd take them anyday over someone who became famous because of how they look: Edison Chen, Twins, etc. They can't sing worth a damn.

I've only been a fan of Mayday for about two months now and they're already my favorite band.

They're not that bad. They're a lot better than other bands...although I do agree with you that Beyond is much better than Mayday (in my opinion). Beyond's music just sounds better.

I also can't stand Mayday's lyrics sometimes...it's just so....childish.

I love Mayday! Their songs are great and they are really great composers! They are fake? LOL! They are not fake AT ALL! Compare them to Cyndi Wang and Hei Se Hui Mei Mei and you will see what is fake. Ah Xin can't sing? Oh my, he can reach some high notes ect. All of them are really great people. My, i don't really get your point.

Ok, I see we're no longer starting a discussion on why you dislike Mayday, but launching personal attacks... I'd like to say, like what I had said before, please be reasonable and read what people has to say about Mayday... but not necessarily full of hatred and grudge towards them... you sounded like you want people to follow your derisive remarks on Mayday and will slam people who stand up for them...

Mayday may be considered one of the most successful bands in Taiwan you know? True that some of them were already married, but yet, their popularity didn't drop and they are still continuing their musical journey until now... if I'm not mistaken recently they just had another event promoting something... AND S.H.E. even wanted them to write songs for them... see? How would a dead group be so well-liked by even the other artists in the entertainment industry? Clearly, Mayday has proved that they really have talent, but not just entering the industry without knowing anything... they deserve to be surviving in the business for so many years now...


Well, lots of other artists put together a book, and this may be a help on their career...

don't really hate them...but don't really know what's so good about their music. I watched them on a few shows, and the singing isn't that amazing

MAY DAY IS THE BEST.
They don't use sex appeal or looks to gain popularity. They write everything themselves. and they depend on each other for music sales. They can sing.

I LOVE MAYDAY.
They have some of the most touching lyrics ever, and the most soothing and captivating songs, it's overwhelming. They are a rock band. You can't deny it. They don't fall for the media, and they write their own songs, lyrics and melody and all, and Mayday is what you can call a true artist. I especially love their ballads Wen Rou, Tu Ran Hao Xiang Ni, Ni Bu Shi Zhen Zheng De Kuai Le, Zhi Zhu, Ya Guan, Ru Yan. Gosh. <33 Their louder songs are much more fun and it shows a different, younger side of them. It really shows how talented Mayday is. Seriously. They're my favorite band ever.

i disagree..this is the first time i saw somebody hates mayday..LOL. they are not arrogant at all and they can sing and produce good music. and they didn't sell looks at all.

I think they are great and definitely not overrated. They write their own music, they can sing and play instruments great, and they are popular because of their music. They don't even try to have good looks or dress cool or anything.

im trying to get into them, but i find that i really cant.

Ha Ha it's been 2 years & this topic is still around. I don't hate them as much now. I have to admit I am a bit extreme. I still think 90% of POP artist are pretentious in personality. Bunch of singers are far worst than Mayday. but I still think Mayday's are hypocrites.
