It's quite funny how all the new posts you made are most of the next season dramas that I want to give a stab at. hahaha.
But anyway.... I think LIAR GAME will turn out alright, since it's manga-based and what not. I'm really looking forward to this one. ^^

I'm confused what you mean by 'next season dramas'... LOL Aren't we in spring now, and tomorrow is April, which means it's "this" season, no? LOL
I am just like you! I can't wait to see this because the manga based dramas have such great scripts since the screenplay is based on the manga! I can't wait for it!! Just two more weeks!

I'm kind of skeptical about this one. Didn't we just do a swindler based drama last year? Kurosagi, if anyone can't recall. But I love the actors here, so I will check it out. Can't agree that all manga-based dramas have good script, but they're pretty decent. The million dollar twist may add a bit of originality. We'll see how this turns out. Anyone know when this'll start airing?

I watched the first episode,
Hidden Text:
this is what I interpreted from it. The main female character receives 1 million dollars of cash, she gets a target and her job in the game is to take that person's million dollars, if not she will owe the owner of the liar game a million dollars. If she takes it, she will receive the 1million dollars as a reward, and still have a million dollars to play the game, I'm not sure how the game ends, I guess till the last person is standing. The main girl is confused and I guess is swindled by her teacher, he doesn't give the money back and she has 30 days to take it back. The main guy comes in to help her get back the money, but he wants half the prize money, he seems to have a dark past, says ask no questions. At the end of the episode he says he has a plan to open the safe with the money in it (one of the old safes). They have been spying on him for weeks before the 30 day period. that's all for now

I thought the plot was quite interesting! But then again, I didn't watch the swindler based drama last year, so I wouldn't know about the less originality thing.
It kept my interest for the whole episode~ I think it's pretty cool and pretty thrilling =D can't wait to see more!!! I think Toda-san is a great actor~ She totally captures the essence of the naive character!

Not a big fan of Matsuda though....
You just pretty much summarized MY situation for me. XD
Even though I don't like Shota very much, I think Erika Toda and Shota will be a very nice pairing though. ^^;; And so far, the first episode wasn't horribly bad... it's moving at a pretty decent speed, which is good. I hope the speeding in the beginning won't cause the drama to get draggy near the end.

so many Japanese series out, can't keep up, I guess this series is just once a week. Definitely addicting. The Liar Game freaks me out, but it's kind of addicting too. The main girl wins the 1st round and the old teacher is swindled, but she decides to give her part of the winning money to him/the other guy does too/ back to the guy so he doesn't have to be in debt. Somehow she gets another note for the second round. She goes to this fortress of a house with 21 other individuals, not sure what the game is (will be explained next round) looks like have to win by small numbers, if someone could explain, that would be great. The winner of the 22 people gets 21 million or billion not sure, at the end, 1 billion I think goes to the guy with the clown face. Can't wait to see more of the game.

the game is the exact opp of like polling. cos in polling normally is majority wins. in this game, it's the minority who will win. in this game, each time, someone will ask a question and everyone will either vote 'yes' or 'no' to that question. if there are more 'yes's, the people who choose that will lose and will have a debt. the polling continues till there's only 1 or 2 winners. if 2 winners, the price money will be shared btw the two.

sounds quite difficult to win but then the guy will think of a really good plan. (:

The main girl enters the 2nd round of the game. the first question was whether you were a girl or not. the majority answered Yes I think, so the people who said no won. The main guy decides to work the game into teamwork in which whoever loses will still be paid, but to leave. He puts 8 people in a group, and half choose yes, the other half chooses no. Whoever is still in the game swores to share the money, so no one will have to repay the 1 billion dollars. The main guy thinks there is an X factor who doesn't care if they win or lose b/c they have 1 billion dollars and don't need to win the game to repay debt. They think the X factor is this girl with dark shades and very calm. The idea seems to be working. The game continues...

the guy with the glasses is the X factor in the game, not the girl with the dark glasses #15. In this episode, the guy with the glasses goes to explain he started another group with the girls so he would win. He would pick yes and the main guy would pick no with the other 2 people. But the main guy he tricked him and knew from the beginning that the X factor was the guy in glasses, b/c the one with the million dollars knew it was in check form or something and by people's facial expression of being calm when they carry a debt of 1 billion dollars. In the next game the main guy is the question person, he says the most important thing to a person is money, he outright chooses no. He says he will definitely be the winner at the end. How does he know? does that mean that the girls suffer b/c they weren't in his group, will he win in the end? does the game go on or end here?

In ep.4 I ad the feeling the glasses mushroom hair guy was "X" God he was so annoying in his brust of his master plan but before that I had a feeling he was evil or was one of the bad guys. How they shoot the show, he was the only one who kept asking Nao wahat they were going to vote and even ask in the last round to Akiyama san. But I wonder what will happen in the next round and how the drama will end, will there be a love thing between Nao and Akiyama...hope there is!!!

Hidden Text:
Yep, the main guy does win. How he did it: the girl gathered the 2 other guys as a team, to make it a draw 2 would pick yes and one would pick no. The main guy picked no too. But the girl tricked them and picked yes. So the main guy wins, he was on a team with her to swindle the other two guys. The main guy splits the money with no.15 to give back to the other contestants, he is the only one who must go on. He wants to find out who is behind the Liar Game. The main girl tries to contact him, but no one answers. The scary cab driver guy pays her a visit and tells her about the main guy's past. He was a psych student going to go to med school. His mom was swindled and was forced to commit suicide to claim insurance and pay off her debt so her son would not suffer. By doing this, the main guy's goal changed to swindle back all those people in the group that lied to his mom. The cab driver guy says she reminds the main guy a lot about his own mom so he wants to help her. The cab driver guy says the only way to help the main guy is to return to the game part 3. Dumb as she is, she returns. There are 9 contestants, one must lose. It's called the Restructuring game, something with a office worker, very confused on the rules of this game. but yes, the mushroom guy is back. But no sign of the main guy, where is he?

Toda Erika as Kanzaki Nao Matsuda Shota as Akiyama Shinichi
Ok, so I'll use their names instead of main guy and girl, hehe.
The restructuring game is as follows from what I could interpret, sorry if wrong. Each person has 5 spaces on their sheet to fill out of the person they want to stay in the game, you can not leave it blank or put your own name. Nao gets tricked by the mean mushroom head guy by believing if they both put each others names 5 times they will win. He doesn't vote for her. No one does after they find out she is not in debt, etc. No one votes for her in the next 3 rounds either due to their M ticket. The M ticket is 1 million dollars that they can use to buy stuff off each other or in this case the mushroom guy forces each person to give 500 of it to him as a form of contract, not to vote for Nao so she will lose. There are 10 rounds of voting.
Shinichi finds out from the guy with the golden teeth he didn't kill the person (head of the lying group). He receives an important call, I think is from the secretary lady who tallies up the points to save Nao.
My question is how he gets in, what will he do to save her. He says in the preview, their life/death is in the hands of Nao, what does he mean? Can't wait!

episode 7 {welcome back Matsuda Shota}
Hidden Text:
Toda agains gets tricked by the dumb mushroom head guy in playing a card game. She has to pick a card from a bag If the card shows a joker/face card she wins, if both sides are the same then she loses. What I'm not sure is how he won this game-something that changed her chances from 50% of winning to less, something that Shota explains the mushroom guy has two times the chance b/c he returns his card while not her card to the bag I think? Well of course Shota comes back to help her win the game. He tells her to put a mark on the card so she can feel the texture of the card. She plays the game with him again and tells him if she wins he has to give her 10 tickets, he agrees. He loses of course and is angry. Shota teaches her to go to the other 8 people to get 10 tickets so she will win by giving them money from her M ticket. Now she has 80 tickets, she can give away 30 tickets depending who gives her the most money from their M ticket. Now she has tricked them. Who will go on to the next round with her. Shota tells her to quit, but I don't think she wants to from the preview.

think i found a fault in episode 7

it doesn't make sense, does it, that all 7 people (excluding the mushroom head person) conceded to her request to exchange 10 votes for 70 million yen each. I don't think the person/people currently at the top in the ranking table would want this exchange since he/she would get much much more money (1 billion yen) if he/she wins the second round. corrections, anyone?

Toda Erika as Kanzaki Nao Matsuda Shota as Akiyama Shinichi regarding questions on ep. 7, I think the people care more for the money that they receive from Nao, since they lost some to the mushroom guy, he was the one with the most votes and thought he would win the upper hand in the deal with Nao, so he gave her the votes. He never knew she would be smart enough to ask other people for votes. Never underestimate a person. ep. 8 spoiler
Hidden Text:
from what I got. Nao is in the 10th round of the game. She keeps on selling 2 tickets at a time for different prices(Shinichi's idea), once for 700 million then for the 1billion, all of a person's M ticket. She wants to find a way so all will win, and indeed she finds a way in which no one loses and has to pay the debt back. In the 10th round, she decides the person with the least votes should be the guy that told her mushroom head guy's evil scheme. She gave him 2 billion to pay his debt and leave the game if he chooses to but no money in his pocket. She decides to give everyone back 1 billion. She then will continue to round 3 of the game. Shinichi never dreamed she would pull something like this, he just wanted her to be let out of the game. So the next game, they go to a different center. next ep. Shinichi will meet the person in charge of the game.

i swear if nao and akayama get together i'm going to PUNCH SOMEONE!! AND CHUCK THIS SHOW IN THE TRAAAASH..
