Just, wanna find out who is most popular and i'm curious.
I personally choose Mika coz she'a a nice actress and i love her voice. It's just so special.

I choose Mika too. One of my closest friend is addicted to Ayumi though, and we battle it out a lot. Ayu is alright, like her videos are awesome, but when it comes to just listening or singing along to I choose Mika. The fact she's an awesome actress helps too <3

Mika Nakashima!!!!!!!!! There`s something about Ayumi Hamasaki that i don`t like sometimes i think she`s fake i don`t know Mika look confident and honest like if she doesn`t like she will tell you right away, ahahaha

I personally lyk Mika more too. Both of their songs are very good but i find Mika more natural and i lyk her personality a little more. Thats just my opinion tho, i think both of them are really good. GO MIKA AND AYUMI!!!!

i like mika in acting and stuff (she's the only reason i watched NANA again and again lol) but singing-wise i still think ayumi is better =P

I love Ayumi. A lot of people don't like her because they think she sounds too nasal, but...[shrug]

A lot of people also think she's really fake, and that annoys me to no end..I mean, I'm not trying to compare Ayumi and Mika, but Ayumi actually writes the full lyrics to at least 95% of her songs...when I look at Mika's credits in the booklets, there are so few. But I still love Mika...I hate her rock songs though. Her voice is much more suited for the jazzy and gospel songs

Ayumi has such a wide range of music genres though, so I've never actually been bored with her music. Everything she does is such high quality, it's never a disappointment

I like Mika's voice better and her music is a bit rockish and gospel compared to the other Jpop stars.

Mika to me has more of a bold impression while Ayumi is just another pop artist, thats not really that outstanding.

Yea i love Mika too she's got a great voice and is a great actress too - Ayu is ok but sum of her songs are not really not my style.

I chose Mike beacuse I think she's awesome. I really like her voice. With long hair, she's real pretty, and then in Nana, she really pulled off that "rock" look well. She's one of my favorite Japanese artists. =)

I voted Ayu because Mika lacks stage presence...Mika had great stage presence as NANA but not as MIKA...Ayu on the other hand has it all! She sings, dances, composes and visualizes for 90-100% of the things she does...

Ayumi is a better songwriter and she tries different genres and she's good at it but what really made me choose Mika is the voice.

Mika and Ayumi do totally different styles. :S Both are hit-or-miss artists. There are songs by Mika that I love and songs I hate, and the same goes for Ayumi. But because Mika's got a nicer voice I voted her.

I voted for Ayumi because I loooooooove all her stuff, she's the first J-artist I ever got into. I still like Mika though, she's got more of a rock edge and I thought she was super good in NANA. Ayu is too too cute though

well in my opinion, their styles are pretty different...
mika has a jazzy, gospel type of voice, while ayumi's voice is very high-pitched and she uses lots of vibrato
i like both of them but i think ayumi stands out more...
she has a great sense of style and also her ability to write poetic lyrics are amazing

I like Ayumi more because her songs "speak" to me; her lyrics are amazing.
However, I actually prefer Mika's voice since it's less "squeaky."
I just wish she wouldn't sing so predictably, she doesn't take risks when she sings.
As for looks, it's a hard one. I'm still not too fond of Ayumi's big-eyed, adroid look, but I also don't like Mika's incredibly thin eyebrows :/.

I like Ayumi more... I can't really get into Mika's music. I don't think either of them have spectacular voices though. But I've been an Ayu fan for like three years or so, and I've only heard some of Mika's music. Like one song.

recently discovered Mika when i was just surfing around actually and fell in love with her singing. she has a strong and non high pitch voice, sort of reminds me of how DIDO sings in a way. not comparing them in songs and tunes by the way.

I like AYUMI for only a few. only because after a while her voice kills the ear drums and you realize that some of the beats matches other beats...i like her techno sort of songs...really good to excersise with.

I'd say Ayu cause her singing is really good. Even though I don't understand jap, I can feel that she puts a lot of feelings in her singing.

Ayumi is cute and all but this is a matter of personal taste and as some of you have already pointed out: one just speaks to me more, and that is Mika! She is up there with the most beautiful people on this planet and her style is unique.

well, you cant deny Ayumi's success in the market, she's sold so many records its ridiculous. But as for her versus Mika...no contest, Mika is way superior in ability and...well style as well. She always manages to have really nice hairstyles

Mika may not be that much, but she still has potential to surpass Ayumi i think.

Well imo Mika has more style and dominants the slower more relaxed songs whereas ayumi is good at slow and fast songs.
so it depends on ur preference.

For me, I would choose Ayumi Hamasaki. Not because of her looks, but for her songs and lyrics. As for Nakashima, I'm not saying I dislike her. Her songs aren't my cup of tea.

The same as miiyo. I like Nakashima's style. Her vairous songs are delightful ! Aishiteru, Yuki no Hana, Find the way, Legend, Cry no more, etc. are all these beautiful songs I like to listen to.
Whereas Ayu is certainly a great singer, but it's definitely not my style. Too "j-pop"

I like Mika Nakashima more, I don't like Ayumi Hamasaki as an artist. I don't like her songs and voice, I just like Mika Nakashima's songs and voice more. I like Mika's style more and I don't like Ayumi's style at all, she seems so fake looking sometimes. No offense to Ayumi fans though.

I like ayumi better, i think she has a better voice (although it does get high pitched and squeaky somtimes), but i mostly like her vibrato. its sooo niccee. lol. and her fashion sense is pretty good too. mika nakashima isn't that bad either, but i didn't really like her image nor her songs as much. her voice is good though and i really liked the song that she sang for NANA. i think she just has to pick better songs to sing.

Mika Nakashima IS an awesome singer, she could possibly be one of my favourites, I especially love her song Glamorous Sky, but personally, I prefer Ayumi. I'm not just saying that because she's really pretty ( and she is ) it's because of her talent. She has a really beautiful voice and I LOVE her vibrato. Her lyrics are poetic and meaningful and she inspires me.
