Ooooh X-MAS is coming up soon as i'm sure all of you are aware of (i just went last-minute shopping yesterday; nearly got trampled in the stores! =O) and that means we'll be sending in the petition soon!!!! I'm really happy we reached our 1000 signatures goal but keep in mind that to TVB/EGG 1000 might not be a number that's significant enough to them! So please keep on promoting the petition for the remaining days! Go crazy! Try to get as much signatures as we can before sending it in; this is for CHARRAY!

Regarding your question about the live chat, i was thinking about having it on going for the whole day and you'll just come online the time most suitable to you and chat w/other members who are online the same time as you. So if you have time that day, you can hang around the forum the whole day but if not, just come online whenever you can and drop by to say hi!
Oh and i really think we should try to set a "rule" that everyone should at least TRY THEIR BEST TO COME ONLINE (even for like 5 minutes) that day. If you have any better suggestions, feel free to let me know! ^^
myhelen: I think that would be a great idea! We can collect the info and try to work out the 'golden hour' and everyone can TRY to come online at that time (if not, still try to come online SOME time during that day)! An Charray online party is great,,,,but it is so hard to fix a time for everyone since we are so spreadout across the globe......erh....can we get a count as to who will be interested in joining and what country they are from? In this way we can count the time zones much easier. We will fix a time that is more convenient for the majority.
Bittersweet, are you going to work out a cover letter to accompany our petition? Pls. let me know if you wish to work on a Chinese version as well.....

Dear TVB & EGG, (i'll be using their full names in the actual letter - not just the acronym)
The purpose of this letter is to inform the concerned about the petition supporting the pairing of Charmaine Sheh and Raymond Lam.
Despite the mediocre ratings in Hong Kong for the 60-episode drama "The Drive of Life"?, this pairing (nicknamed 'Charray') has, without doubt, gained a large fan base. Fans of this on-screen couple is widespread, from Mainland China to Canada to Singapore, to even Europe! There are numerous music videos, fan fictions, artistic creations, fan listings and websites dedicated to Charmaine and Raymond. Traces of 'Charray' fans can be found all over the net. (please refer to the list at the end for reference) Fans support this couple because their amazing chemistry and partnership has captured the hearts of the audience.
Recently Raymond Lam has released a music video for the song "Searching For You In Loving Memories" featuring TVB actress, Linda Chung. On behalf of all the 'Charray' fans, we would like to express our opposition towards this matter in the form of a petition. Fans feel that the song, which was played consistently throughout the drama as well as being the sub theme, is a symbolic measure of the love between the two characters Zhen Pong and Sau Fung (portrayed by Raymond Lam and Charmaine Sheh respectively) from the drama. We feel it is inappropriate to use a different actress in the music video when the romance of 'Pong-Fung' is still very fresh and alive in our minds. The superb performance delivered by both Raymond and Charmaine has brought alive the romance of 'Pong-Fung' and the music video should reflect that. Please note that in no way are we attacking Ms. Chung; we merely feel that the use of a different actress other than Charmaine Sheh in the music video is ill-fitted.
Furthermore, we would like to place an emphasis on our strong wishes for future collaborations between Charmaine Sheh and Raymond Lam. This pairing has proved to the audience they have unbeatable chemistry in all three of their collaborations; 'Yummy Yummy: Food For Life', 'Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion', and most recently, 'The Drive of Life'. When collaborating, they are able to not only bring out the best of each other, but to bring alive their characters and trigger the emotions and feelings of the audience. We wholeheartedly support future collaborations between Charmaine Sheh and Raymond Lam.

I am fine with chatting either on MSN or here. Erh, but I think we have to think of a topic first. Otherwise it will not be as interesting. I know it is of course about Charray, but what are we suppose to do during the chat? I think we should find one Charray related issue and start chatting on it. Let me take an example, GT has a mini chat some time ago and the topic is on the new TVB calendar. So everyone chip in their comments on the TVB calendar and start chatting away...I think we can use one Charray news or one issue such as is Charray really having an affair? I am just saying it on the top of my mind as an example. Let's give it some thought and suggest some topics for discussion.....
Definitely add the GT forum DOL page, we have loads of die hard Charray fans there.

So that means he doesn't like Charmaine ,, Sigh lol nvrmind , justhope they will get paired up more in future dramas is enough! Ohh I thnik about what Raymond asid might hurt Linda's feelings.. ermm alittle too harsh .. Well yeah poor guy , doesn't mean that he said Linda's almost like the type of girl he wants , doesn't mean he like her but the people there insisted . How sad hhaa! helen, I have read your chinese cover letter, and I don't think there is anything to change or add because it is already really good.
As for the chat, I'm fine with 27th, but due to the different time zones, wouldn't there be some places where it will be over 10 hours difference from others, such as Canada. I think Canada has a 15 hour time difference from Australia.
I'm ok with any topics related to CharRay and I like helen's suggestion of the game.

myhelen, i think now that we've sent the petition off to TVB & EEG, i think maybe we should disclose this to appledaily.
this is just my opinion, but i think that it's good pressure to TVB & EEG to take the petition seriously.
and about the controversional crap appledaily will probably stir up, i guess it's alright. i mean they've already talked about Rayda when they helped us advertise our petition. what worse can they do?? all they can say is, after all, there ARE charray supporters.

blingbling, I hate to shatter your hope, but I don't think TVB or EEG will actaully respond to our email, other than the usual standard "thank you for your comment, it is well received" auto reply. We will know if they have taken our comments into consideration only by monitoring their action - meaning whether Charray gets more promotion or chances to work together loh.
As for Apple Daily, I have mixed comments, some urged me to send it, some cautioned me for more negative comments. I am in such dilemma. Let me think for a couple more days and see if I can come up with another safer approach to promotion Charray.
And Bittersweet, I love your captioning...so funny. Stupid TVB is already making way for Rayda in HOG2....just hated it. So everyone, expect more ridiculous news about Rayda like the latest Linda blog entry in the months to come lah. Time to take a course to raise our EQ , otherwise starting Feb. we will be having a hard time balancing our emotions......

myhelen, thnx for telling me that.
i'm still urging you to send the info to appledaily because it really doesn't do much harm. i'm sure that TVB/EEG will take the petition more seriously if it has news coverage. Appledaily will stir up some crap but the thing is, even if they don't, TVB/EEG will still think about Rayda becuz of the charray petition. one thing tho, becuz rayda has way more supporters than charray, either way (whether send to appledaily or not), TVB/EEG will still consider Rayda before CharRay.
yes. it's heartbreaking to think about it. but no matter how seriously we take the petition, 1000 is a number that is insignificant to TVB.
we will just have to put up with the Rayda we will be seeing for the year 2008.
but at least we know Raymond doesn't like Linda right?
Charmaine will always be in his heart.
all we can hope now is for a better charray year in 2009.
im sorry for shattering anyone's Charray hopes. i'm hurting me too. =(
let's make up for lack of charrayness in the year 2008 by writing more fanfics and creating stronger Charray groups.

helen, regarding about whether or not to send the news about the petition into Apple Daily. I am neutral about it. If you send it in, there is a likely chance that it would place pressure on TVB and EEG in putting our request to more thought and consideration. But if they stir things up, it may just do the opposite and may cause TVB and EEG to promote Rayda more. So if we send it in, TVB and EEG may consider to promote CharRay more due to the pressure that Apple Daily places on them and our high numbers of supporters. But on the other hand, it could have the opposite effect, and instead, it would help Rayda.
But if we don't send it in, TVB and EEG may not take our request seriously. I know this is a very hard decision, but we definitley need to think this through seriously.
By the way, I mentioned earlier that I was writing a CharRay xmas special fanfic, well, I have posted up the forewords. I know Xmas is over, but I wanted to proceed anyways since I have already written most of the story. I hope you'd support me.
Please drop a comment in the comments section regarding my story... feel free to comment about anything I need to change or any suggestions you'd want me to consider....

You're welcome everyone! I'm really proud of this group of Charray fans we have here because how many other fan groups have managed to handle and create a petition that garnered more than 1000 signatures in a few short weeks? Plus, everyone here is uber nice!

Jonsier: I know, i was totally grimacing when i saw Linda's latest blog entry...the nerve of her (FYI: the title of that entry was "Sheung Joi Sum Gets Re-Acquainted with Alfred Ching Leung"
like why won't she just get over it already?!) But when i saw that pic i just couldn't help myself but do a little captioning, i mean, Ray's expression was priceless!

bling*bling: Yes i hate to burst the bubble too but like myhelen has said, it's highly unlikely that EGG & TVB will send us back a personalized response (although i did receive the standard "thank you for your e-mail" from TVB LOL) The only way to know if they actually took our petition seriously is whether or not we see more of Charray in the future! (hopefully we do!)

I can't believe they're having a HOG2 and they're bringing Alfred back (okay well the story line is supposedly going to be totally different but still...) with Sheung Joi Sum again! I don't think my EQ will ever be high enough for me to endure another Rayda series (i have to admit Ray was really good in HOG though, especially his dying scene; i cried my eyes out but the tears quickly dried up when i saw another certain someone TRY to cry for Alfred's death but ended up looking like she was squeezing water from a rock
) BTW, myhelen, are you writing anymore fanfics on GT??? I really love them!

Bittersweet, I still have an incomplete fanfic at GT. Getting very lazy to update because the next chapter is suppose to be the super sweet night of celebration. Have been trying to think of the most romantic way for Charray to celebrate Ray's award in the TVB anniversary. But couldn't decide. Actually I have been thinking about it so much I guess the tension and pressure get to me - I couldn't sleep at all last night. I was very tired, but I woke up ar around 4am and starting thinking about my Charray fanfic and just couldn't get back to sleep. Mind you, I only got to bed at 2:45am.

It was happened in the hospital where Charmaine was helping Kevin on some eye drops .. ?? Kevin was feeling very uneasy and Charmaine used a trick, asked him to check out her eyebrow whether it is ok or not. When the camera shot on Charmaine’s eyes, I was totally melted…

Joniser: Haha you're welcome! And yeah i know what scene you're talking about and i totally agree! Charm does have really gorgeous eyes and like you said, they're not only big, but the shape is also really nice and she has really long lashes and her eyes are kinda hazel-ish light brown and they SPARKLE! LOL well i personally would like to believe Ray was thinking about our lovely eye goddess when he was replying to the Host!

List of Little Charray Clues:1. Their TOTALLY matching outfits at the QQ Live Chat (they said it was a coincidence but common' their ENTIRE outfit was the same! Same V-NECK black tee, cream outercoat, jeans!)
2. They almost always wear matching/complimenting outfits (i dunno if you guys noticed but in TDOL, Charray almost always wear matching colours and i know for a fact that the artistes had to sponsor their own wardrobe for the series so that means Charray has VERY similar taste in clothing!)
