ahem, so after a night's rest I decided to catch up on reading all the posts. But the recent commonts bugged me a little so I have to reply to them first.

to Collie and stars13, I've been a fan of Ray and Charm both individually but recently I've convert to Charrayism () so no, I don't think Ray would lost any individual fans due to the love of pairing him up with another actress. With that said, why would he made such a comment (telling fans not to pair him up with an actress)? That would just disappoint the fans who enjoy seeing him pairing with another actress onscrene whether it be Charm or Tavia and Ray is too nice and smart to do so.

I think you guys might be confuse. There was an older article in which Ray said that he would rather be rumor with a male than be rumor with, and I quote "LINDA" (No mentioning of Charm or Tavia whatsoever)! But you see this was his way of joking about Linda's personality being like a boy. So don't take this too seriously and read too much into it. Ray is witty with reporters, that's the fact!

I agree it's his decision on who he wants to be with, but it's us fans' decision to like it or not! Each of us have our own opinion and there's nothing wrong with that. Why must you criticize? If you don't like it, then don't go to this thread and complain because no one here, us true fans anyways, agree with you.

If Charmaine and Raymond have been disturbing your eyes, then don't watch TDOL.. or you can fast-forward their scenes.. pretty simple..

and stars13, take YummyFan535's advice regarding your "disturbing" problem with Charray. We certainly don't want your eyes to blur up again and make you wander in the wrong direction and go to Charray's thread for fans again since you're clearly not a fan! You should find your way to Ray and Michelle's thread there.

I really like CharRay in Drive of Life, although I think those bickering scenes are a bit draggy.. Drive of Life itself is a bit boring and draggy as well, but I'll give it a chance.

I agree, I also think it's an excuse for people who simply don't like Charmaine. Personally I think Charmaine looks around Ray's age. Besides, even if they began to date, 4 years isn't very much nowadays, we've seen several people date someone who's 10-20 years younger.



Of course you're allowed to tell us what you think, but haven't you done that several times already? I don't mean to be mean or rude, I mean.. I'm not one from The Charmaine haters thread, but now that you have told us what you think, why do you keep coming back? Since Charray is a such a pain for your eyes, then we wouldn't want you to get an injury.

lols Mack, I think some people have too much time on their hand. I question why stars13 keep coming back here and never really give a reason too. I assume the only pairing she/he dislike is Charray and enjoy expressing her/his negative opinion on them.

I'm waiting to watch ep 17 still. I want to see Ray's expression when he type the message to Charm, like someone mentioned before. But what I really anticipate is their dating scene in ep 19! I hope TVB don't cut anything out. By the way, those that have watched the Mando version, did you notice that in the bicycle scene, when Charm first got on in the street, her legs were place on their right side. But then at the park, her legs were place on the left? heehee interesting.

I read a news article in sehseh's blog about Charm. The interviewer ask if she mind her mate being younger than her or something like that, and Charm said she doesn't mind! Just like Ray stated that he doesn't mind his girlfriend being older than him

maybe u should watch the china version cos they cut a lot of charmaine and raymond parts. their version is shortened and to the point. lately the ratings are goin down cos the charray storyline is on or something.

I actually think the rating will rise once Charray's storyline picks up. Their love story is complicated and interesting in my opinion, very tragic but with sweet moments and a happy ending. What more can I ask for well, maybe if they have a baby together

If you're talking about the mando version, the ratings were good, so I don't know what you're talking about, and if you're talking about the canto version, then as I've said before, you can't expect the ratings to be high all the time.. so I don't see the need to blame Charray..

I must say the soul purpose of Asianfanatic forums is for Asians (and even non-Asians) to interact and socialize with others around the world about shared interests such as the latest news, singers, idols...etc. Yes, everyone is protected with a freedom of speech and expression, but there is something called a LIMIT. This forum is dedicated to the couple Charray and i hope in the future people will be a little more considerate when they post their opinions. Remember, this is the internet, what you post can be viewed by ANYONE, ANYWHERE. And keep in mind that the internet is very much like a real society and we must realize that we are not alone in this cyber community. Things that we post will be read by others and can and will affect others. If you don't like Charray, fine, no prob. And technically you do have every right to post your "opinions" on this forum. But by theory, it's ironic and selfish. Take a minute to think before you post; this is, after all, a CHARRAY forum full of people who love and support this couple, would it be smart or even considerate to barge in and just post your raw opinions, opinions that might hurt others or totally clash with everyone else in the forum? I'm proud to say that we Charray fans don't go to other forums and bash other couples and we only ask for the same in reciprocal. It's as simple as that: respect.

Anyway, enough babbling Heehee! And yeah i remember reading some article and they were saying how the second week of DOL, the ratings dropped to only 29pts. and as coincidence, that was the week where there were most Charray scenes so people naturally just draw the conclusions that it was Charray that brought down the ratings. HOWEVER, i persoanlly think that's just all rubbish. It's natural for the second week of ratings of ANY series to be lower than the first because when the series first comes out, people usually are interested to find out if it's any good or curious as to why all hype/promotion or advertisement for the series, thus, causing higher first week ratings. And common' 29 pts. is still VERY good (some series don't even get 29pts. at the ENDING!). Also, even though last week focused more on Charray's relationship, the blame can't be shoved all onto their shoulders. DOL is a grand series with an impeccable cast and many storylines going on, running all over the map. I just don't think it's fair to pin point just one couple to say that they were the sole culprits for the rating drop. (certainly not Charray! what's not to love about them?! ) And i have faith that the ratings will just get better and better from now on!

LOL, this is turning out to be a very long post. Oh, and thanks Weigirl, the cottage was great (although there were a lot of flies!). We went canoing, swimming, fishing, hiking...it was really awesome to get back to nature. (even though i missed this forum a lot!!) But now i'm back!

Except I hate it when my bro start to tell scary stories to scare us, or me specifically as I am a scardicat. Whenever he told his ghost stories, especially out in the open night with only a bonfire in the middle of the wood, it gave me the creeps and I couldn't sleep for quite awhile. I didn't sleep right under the stars but under a tent with the sleeping back covering my head too because I was scared lols. But the rest of the trip was super fun!

sehseh and myhelen, you guys are so great! Translating the story muct be hard work and I applause you guys for willing to do so out of the kindness of your hearts! I can't read Chinese and I have no idea how to make graphic arts so I feel like such a failure not helping with anything. I will support you guys and encourage mentally though!

Collie, it seems the link you've put up is an article for the Four Constables But I know what article you're talking about and that's just tabloid magazine talking. The first week as expected was a high 34, then it make sense for the second week to lower as the hype died down a little but not so bad at 29. Then just last week it rose at 30. So it's incorrect to say lately the ratings been going down.

And like bittersweet05 stated reasonally that Charray are not to blame for the slight decrease the second week. Last week feature their kiss on the tram and rating increase, so there.

but enough about that.. i watched up to ep 18 of DOL.. and i love in ep 17 Ray's letter... and the money flowers.. its sooo sweet!! i wish some guy made something like that for me.. i like it cos it proves how much Ray knows Charmaine.. cos we all know she loves money.. so it was sweet of him as well as proviong to her that he really does know her very very well... anyways.. i've been reading the character blogs on the TVB site.. and i love the whole blog idea from the characters.. it really allows the audience to gather better understanding of each character.. and of course i love reading what Charray's characters have to say for each other.. i think its so cute how they refer to each other in their blogs.. like Fung talks about Pong.. and about the flowers he gave her.. and Pong will talk about Fung... so its a good read..

oh i also forgot to say in ep18 i think they also cut out a scene.. its diff to the CCTV one.. its when Charmaine and Damien go up to China and i think there was a little riot going on..and then Charmaine and Damien go into Ray's office and he was playing with the mask thing.. TVB jumped straight into the conference room scene.. not directly cutting Charray scene but there still in it.. so i think to watch the full DOL.. u have to watch both CCTVand TVB version... or wait for the DVD hopefully it will have everything.. if they do ahve a DVD with everything.. think i may even make a little edited Fung & Pong DVD with just there bits.. so its easier to watch....

SEHSEH - I have emailed you up to Chapt. 3. I think I can finish Chap. 4 tonight or tomorrow. How about you can start from Chapt. 5 -9? Then I will start working on 10 -15 after I am done with Chap. 4. This way we can speed things up and start posting the story soon. Seems like Step is ok with the translation. Wow...didn't know there was a little bit of disagreement these past days w/ charray from someone who doesn't appreciate this thread. Ray is filming w/ sonja & tavia again. charm didn't decline an 80 epi series bc it conflicts w/ DOL so the her role was pass on to Linda, which makes no sense bc Linda has NO talents. I've seen a lot of pic w/ him and her plus i read on jayne's web stating that ray and linda were singing together. they recently traveled somewhere couple months to sing and holding hands on state. Hopefully ray will not be interested in her. hopefully he realizes that charm is the best partner for him in this industry, and they have more chemistry onscreen.

So does anyone know who had sent Charm 99 roses on her bday? It wasn't Michael Mui.
(BTW-Ray is only 4 yrs younger than Charm which is fine when it comes to two people in love. Age doesn't matter but compatibility is the important to a relationship.) Ray and Charm doesn't seem to take age into consideration when it comes to relationship. I don't understand why TVB doesn't allow actors/actresses to date within, makes no sense of such rule.

Just want to managen the rating things yes the rating was pretty good during eps 1-5 it had 34 point and for eps 6-10 the rating did drop to 29 but in those eps charray wasn't together so u can't say that the rating did fall b/c of charray and the article that was posted up did just mention that it was ray who made the rating to drop and not charray parts so please read careful next time! the rating for eps 11-15 did rise to 30 point and that is pretty good then we should get back to the bad news about so called charray and ray make the rating drop, in eps 11 there where the charray kissing scene on the tram and the other eps was almost about ray and the rating rise, well what did this mean then? o my gosh I just don't understand y ppl always pick.

I don't think it's a problem either that charm is older then ray and if they really are together it up to them if they feel comfortable with eachother that is most importent right? also charray don't mind that their partner are older (for ray) or younger (for charm) then them self. Yeah charrays storyline in DOL is more intresting then joe and jess. I just love how many troubles they have but in the end they could get back with eachother.. what! did they cut that, ok that wasn't very importen but I agree with u if we want to watch the whole serie with out anything cut off we should watch both mandarin version and canto verison but I really hope that TVB will come out with the DVD version without anythign cut I know that mainland have publish a DVD with 60 eps and each eps is 45 min long that means 3 min more on each eps

yeah this weeks eps is great and next week too then u will see how supportive ray is and how their relationship is growing stonger and stonger. it's really sweet moments just love it ^^

Jupi: I definitely feel that the Charray relationship is much more important to the plot than Joe & Jess. I also love how they still end up together despite the many problems they've been through.
Let's hope the anti-Charray fans don't plan on staying, cause frankly, if they're trying to convince us that Charray is wrong, none of us fans really care.. We like Charray despite the "huge" age difference and despite what other people say. So if that's their motive, they might as well save themselves some time.

Well i think that idea is a great idea but I think it's hard to make it b/c we fans are from different countries and the time zone is so different I mean u guys that are living in America are about 10 hours behinde those fans who are living in europe and then ppl in asia have differnet time zones so I think it's hard to make it but we can see if we can make it, then I'm sure the page will go fast on.

Well if I should be honest I think u should wait till eps 19 before u watch it, yes the charray parts in eps 17 is sweet but it's very short too so u won't get enought ( I know that we can't get enought about this couple) so wait till eps 19 before u watch it well there are some charray parts in eps 13 if I haven't remember wrong.

First of all i want to say welcome and I'm glad to know there are another charray suporter here. Well I haven't read about that but I know about that. And as what myhelen said I totaly agree with her come here and chat with us instead of going to those theards and read those bad things. as long as we know that isn't true then we don't need to be mad or angry right? yupp u are right , charray doesn't mind the age difference between them. ray had said that hsi partner can't be more then 4 yers older and charm is 4 yeras older so she can be count in I can't remmeber what charm said about her partener but she don't mind if he is younger.
Well there are a little part with charray in eps 18 not that much.

Jupi, okay sorry to say..but i couldn't withhold myself any longer from charray so i decided to watch all up to epi18 last night..haha, but aww, at least now i knowww ray is still after char, and char is at beijing now..i cant wait for episode 19 ..but i read on the DOL thread that the cctv's epi18 has more charray scenes?? what what?? the tvb cut out the scene when they arrived at the factory..tvb jus shows char entering the meeting room from then on..poo on tvb!! why they always cut out charray scenes?? !! maybe i should rewatch it in cctv's version too..hahaa..poO~~

so now im dying to go home and download episode 19 to watch!! ahhh!!! they BETTER not cut out any charray scenes or i'd really have to kick someone.hahaha..

haha well u don't need to say sorry, I know it's hard to not watch the serie but today eps 19 is out and u will see the dating scene really sweet. Well TVB did cut that part out but I don't think that part was so importent I mean the olny thing was charm and damien walked in to the offie where ray is sitting and ray had that mask on his head and charm was asking what do u have on your head? that was all not importent and it wasn't too sweet either.

Wow, you guys are up to episode 19, is that in cantonese version or CCTV?? I'm dying from waiting for more tapes to come out here in NY, can't wait to see how Charm and Ray got back together. Didn't think they match at first, but change my mind after seeing them togther, great couple they make.

All the negative comments around Charray is just plain stupid to me. If these people really hate Charray so much then why are they spending so much time talking, thinking, dissing them? Isn't that kinda ironic? I think they should just spend that time elsewhere, like worshiping their own idols/couples. And all that nonsense about Ray&Charm being "rating poison"...There are perfectly reasonable explanations about the SLIGHT second week rating drop and these people are like cats after fish, just not letting that little matter go! (even though third week ratings have risen back to 30pts even with a Charray kissing scene!) Ratings aren't a measure of popularity or compatibility; there are too many other factors and variables that affect it that these people have conveniently left out and pushed all the blame on our Charray. If it's because Charm is older than Ray, then all i have to say is: GROW UP PEOPLE. This is the 21st century, not 18th. Charm is only 4 years older than Ray and she looks younger than her age while Ray looks more mature than his actual age, making them very compatible physically. And for those who say they "lack chemistry" then i suggest you look up the definition of 'chemistry'. (not the study of matter...teehee!) It's so sexist how people accept older man-younger woman relationships better than older woman-younger man relationships. I mean, look at Roger Kwok and Cindy Au: Roger is like 15 years older than her and no one said a word about them when they got married! People should just give Charray a chance.

I just watched ep 19 and it was so so sweet! Even though I've watched the Mandarin version, I still love every seconds of the Charray dating scenes! I like Ray's song in the back ground too but it sounds kind of sad for such happy event. I still think they should have a happy duet for Charray to sing for happy scenes. Much more appropriate I think.

Well that dancing part is both cut off from the mainland version and cantonese verion don't know y, but we are hoping that TVB will give out a dvd version with all those scenes in *crosing fingers for that*

well it's true that rays subtheme are somewhat sad but if u just listen to the lyrics I think it's pretty sweet, the first part in the song is like that it is later on the lyrics turn to be more sad and somewhat unhappy. but I agree with u that if they had a sweet duet together will be much more perfect for those sweet scene.

watched ep19 today... i usually would go to my local TVB rental store but because of Charray i decided to download that ep... and i love it!!! finally they are together as a couple.. their little dating scene was just awesome.. sweet simple and romantic... and since it is Charray it is even better... though there is one thing i find weird is that they played the subtheme that Ray sang... i love that song.. but its a sad song for a sweet moment.. a little weird for me.. talking about the sub theme... been listening to it alot lately.. i think the song works well from both Pong and Fung's point of view.. soooo sad...touching..

anywho.. i was reading the character blogs on the TVB site.. and i think Pong is such a sweet guy.. i cant remember exactly what he wrote.. but something like how people think that Fung isn't that great but he thinks that she matches perfectly with himself.. then he goes on saying there is no particular reason... because its love... awwww.... how cute.. i think what Pong wrote is just sooo sweet...

on the side note.. about that thread about Charray rating poison or something.. i read a few post.. and i found it funny... yet kinda sad(not crying sad that is).. dont really care what others think about them.. i think they are swell.. plus its not even up to the dramatic bits in the series so how can they judge.. and the ratings dropped in the second week.. dude.. that was the second week.. happens to most series.. i actually think that Charray didn't have that many scenes in the beginning of the series (well significant ones that is) cos their bits come in during the middle.. i think i've said this before but i feel that the series is divided amongst the 3 female leads (Sheren, Charmaine and Jessica) from beginning middle and end.. all having their grand moments.. we'll see how things go when Charray split then Charm revenges then reunites.. im sure it will do well at those moments.. (thats what i hope for that is) but even if it doesn't not the end of the world.. doesn't mean they have no chemistry or anything..

I'd like to start off with the re-introduction of myself to the oldies who don't remember me and to all the newbies who have no idea who I am (not that anybody really cares lolzz). I am known in the old CharRay thread as Pearl, the nonsensible rambler (along with my partner in crime, Rangie ). In the good old days, Rangie and I would "compete" with each other to see who could post the longest post and I shamelessly admit my championship. hihihi Just kidding. NEwayz, back to the point of this overdue post.

I have been missing from this forum for quite a long time. My last post was in CharRay's part 1 thread, seems so long ago doesn't it now that you guys are progressively moving onto a part three soon. I'd like to say that the reason I didn't post in this new thread is because I luv the old thread so much that being stubbornheaded and old fashion as I am, I refuse to move on. But that's not the case. I was totally occupied with preparing for grad school, and then after i got accepted to Med school, I had to move and prepare some more. As apparent, being in Med school took over my life so I have practically no time for enjoyment. My obsession with CharRay is still present but my priorities changed big time. So I was forced to reclude myself from Cloud 9 and painfully march on that hard road of life.

Speaking of Cloud 9, does anyone remember the CharRay Blog that Rangie, Tiggie and I set up? It appear my two partners also have other responsibilities. I myself obviously won't be able to continue it. I feel very sorry to set it up and then abandoning it now. So if anyone would like to maintain Cloud 9, the Charray Blog, then feel free to contact me through pm since I will be checking my email for personal message from this forum.

Enough about my boring life, I just want to say a proper reason for my absent and wish you guys a great jolly time like I had here back then! In this cyber world, I know the extent of aninomity here and nobody really cares who was here and who left and such. But I really felt that you guys (Rangie, Helen, Tiggie, AAA, the two Phuongies: Vietnies and YummyFan, x_Sweet_Lady_x, Jupi, bb, and many others) were my friends and I would feel totally ridiculous to just leave without saying good bye to my friends. I miss you guys lots! I still remember all the funnie, goofy conversations that we had and all the obsessive declaration of adoration for Charray together. The good news is now that I'm somewhat settled in this new habitat of mine, I will try and check back here whenever I have free time. Although I won't be able to blabber on and on like old times but I sure will drop a word of hello.

Oh boy, I hate getting so serious there. I had enough seriousness at school lolz. It's time for some crazy, obsessive rambling about my very very favorite couple in the whole wide world: the perfect, most chemistry-sparkled, just-be-with-each-other-already pairing ===> CHARRAY!!!

I'm so excited about SYFW or TDOL as you know. Unfortunately I have to wait until the Viet-dubbed version comes out. I have not watch any TVB series in quite a while. But when SYFW is available, I will definitely watch it no matter what. I'll stay up all night if I have to to make time for my Charray! How strange, being in this CharRay Haven brough back all the obsessiveness in me. It would take me forever to write up all my adorations for CharRay so I will stop here while I'm still able to.

I truly praise you guys for being so active here. CharRay would be so proud if they know they have strong supporters such as yourselves. Keep up with the liveliness and luv in this thread!
