I still think that the love between Charray is not well developed in the series since they are way too many plotlines and Charray doesn't have enough screen time. Well TDOL is aring here where I live and my parents love it, my dad think charray are really cute and he likes how they treat eachother, they have just watch 4 eps. so don't know about their realtionship yet and I have not tell them either but it's so fun to see my dad enjoying a serie well I have always dl DOL =P and yes the eps 19 is great but I'm really looking farward to eps 21 and 22 I think u understand y u have watch the mainland version too right?

anywho.. yeh jupi i've seen the mando version of DOL... and those eps were really good.. well i reaned eps 19-21 at my local TVB store and watched it last night.. and i think they cut another bit out of out Charray.. well maybe not fully directly but still.. it was the bit when they were in canada and Charmaine Raymond and Gigi were sitting at the beach talking about the case.. dont know if u guys remember that bit.. but yeh.. they cut it out!! (i'm sure they did unless i missed it cos i wasnt pying attention but i doubt it.. cos has Charray...)

well its getting almost half way and i really cant wait till all the intense stuff happens.. i actually really like the bit when they get back together the second time.. very touching.. thats when they realise they both just love each other so much!! awesome!!

I was playing "Right Here Waiting For You" by Richard Marx on the piano the other day and was like "OMG, this song is like SO perfect for Charray!" If my video making skills weren't so limited, i'd so make a Charray MV with that song! Hahha i just got back from the beach and when i was in the car, the whole time i was listening to that song on my ipod and thinking about Charray. *sigh* They're just so perfect together! TVB's 60 episode long series "The Drive of life"'s last week ratings weren't so high, however when the series' four villains entered, including Charmaine Sheh, Ng Wai Kwok, Joe Ma, and Power Chan, their diabolical schemes caused the series to enter an exciting peak. The first to
show her evilness is Charmaine Sheh, whose personality is money-hungry and tricky, but to Wah Zhen Pong, played by Raymond Lam, her love is deeper than her hate. However, to take revenge for her deceased mother, she uses the three ultimate dirty tricks, sworn to bring havoc to the Wah family.

Since TVB's long series, "The Drive of Life" came out, its ratings were just average, with alst week's ratings of 30pts, with approximately 194 million viewers. However, this week's plot is much more interesting, with Charmaine Sheh's mother Chan Mei Kei suiciding while in jail, causing Wing Sau Fung, the character played by Charmaine Sheh, to turn from good to evil in order to get revenge for her mother, also bringing out the other three villains: Wai Tin Sing (Ng Wai Kwok), Ngai Wing Bill (Joe Ma), and Wong Sill Leung (Power Chan), teaming together as the four ultimate villains. This will sure to help "The Drive of Life" rake in higher ratings.

The Struggle Between Love and Hate

Charmaine Sheh and Raymond Lam, who portrays Wah Zhen Pong, started out as a bickering pair and later a loving couple. However, unfortunately the death of Chan Mei Kei (Charmaine's mother in the series) Charmaine and Raymond were separated. In the series, Charmaine was downright evil, because of revenge, deliberately hurt Raymond Lam and his family tremendously by jilting him at the altar for the wedding, aborting their baby, and even forcing his parents, played by Damien Lau and GiGi Wong to kneel in front of her, as well as joining forces with Ng Wai Kwok to destroy the Wah Family. But Charmaine's scheming can be explained and her love for Raymond Lam is evidently very deep, causing her to be torn between right and wrong, no wonder it was so difficult for Charmaine to portray her. (Wing Sau Fung)

Charmaine admits that this was a first, to act as a villain, even though last year in "Maiden's Vow" she had already faced the challenge of playing 4 different roles in one series, wowing the audience, but the most difficult? Nope. This time in "The Drive of life", her role as Wing Sau Fung was part angel and part devil, causing Charmaine to act extrenuously. Yesterday Charmaine was quoted in an interview "This time it was a real challenge, in the series my mom (Chan Mei Kei) and I are very close and when she passed away, it was a very big blow to me. But the biggest impact was of course knowing Raymond lam's family had indirectly been involved with her death. Should i still be together with Raymond lam? It's very messed up and complicated; Wing Sau Fung loves him very much, but she just can't forget her mother's death, that's why this character was so difficult to portray, there's so many emotional layers and confusion."

The Emotional Ups and Downs
Charmaine continued "Later on, Wing Sau Fung became allies with Raymond Lam's enemies, scheming to hurt his family, starting to do a lot of very bad things, but on the other hand, never stopped loving him. However, at the same time, Raymond has moved on with someone else (Myolie Wu), so it was very difficult and painful for her (Wing Sau Fung), her emotions are like on a roller coaster, lots of struggles. It might lead to some people disliking a lot of the characters, so the acting can't be too obvious either, it has to be done so that it won't be too evil. And because of that, Wing Sau Fung was a very difficult character to portray, her emotions resemble an electrocardiogram."

Chan Mei Kei's Death -- Charmaine's Transformation into a Villain
Charmaine's character Wing Sau Fung, towards the middle of the series, turns evil. But it's all because of last generation's misunderstandings. The script describes that Chan Mei Kei, who plays Charmaine's mother in the series, when she was younger, was in a love triangle with Damien lau and Liu King Sung. Chan Mei Kei was very loyal to Damien Lau with her love, however, the two just weren't destined together and in the end, Damien married GiGi Wong. Chan Mei Kei immigrated to Canada and married a Chinese Canadian there, however, became the receipt of domestic violence from her husband. This led to Charmaine's strong and independent characteristics, determined to bring her mother away from all this.

Murdering her Husband, Suiciding In The Jail Cell

Chan Mei Kei murdered her husband by accident, which led to her depression and when she returned back to Hong Kong and re-met Damien, her love nemesis GiGi Wong discovered her murder of her husband and resulted to Chan Mei Kei being convicted. In next week (the 14th)'s episodes, she (Chan Mei Kei) will have a suicide scene while in jail. Even though Charmaine clearly loves Wah Zhen Pong, played by Raymond Lam, but she just could not let go of the fact that it was the Wah Family that indirectly led to her mother's death and caused her to do many bad things to hurt the Wah Family. Her love with Raymond Lam thus, becomes a life long entanglement.

Ahhhh! Finally done! The article kept going back and forth between using the actor's names and their character's names...kinda weird.

I have been to quite a few more "neutral" and "mature" forums and found that there are more and more people like Charray, or at least they are all supportive of SauFung and Zhen Pong. I am really happy that many rational viewers have positive comment of this pair. Sure, there are still some irrational people who are biased and just attack for the sake of defending their favourite actress, but there are more and more postive comments about the characters and their storyline. I must say this is by far Raymond's best performance and the chemistry between Charray is just so convincing that most people were touched by their final wedding scene whole heartedly.

[spoiler]Jupi: LOL, i must admit that when i read chinese articles, there are a lot of characters that i don't recognize, but i just read the whole sentence and that pretty much gives me an idea of what it means. And i absolutely am illiterate when it comes to simplified chinese. IMO I think the most effective way to learn Chinese is by watching TVB dramas; you pick up how to speak at the same time as reading (from those subtitles) and it's actually INTERESTING, as opposed to normal classroom lessons.

I can feel a Part III coming too! We can do it! For Charray! I was kinda disappointed with the ratings...30pts while Fathers and Sons got 31pts...but i have faith from now on the ratings will just skyrocket (esp. with this week's episode where Sau Fung's mom suicides!!) But yeah, i just came back from reading the character blogs on TVB's site and WOW, there are so many supporters of Charray! And many left such sweet, supportive comments on both Pong and Fung's blogs. Hopefully TVB will read some of those and continue to promote this superfantabuloustic couple!

What you posted really anger me. I guess I should have follow the warning and not read it at all Those haters are so rude! Anyone betting with me that those posts were written only by a limited number of people? Like one or two haters who posted multiple hate posts just to feel like they matter or something. Even if they are blind and can't see the chemistry between Charray, they don't have to be so mean. They think they represent the whole HK viewers?! I don't think so. So take that haters! Hahhah, i can so imagine like 2 losers staying on the DOL forum all day fabricating all those hateful comments, leading these sorry lives. Mind if I join into this Charray Haven! Whoa, so many posts, it's going to take me ages to read them all, lol. Anyways, obviously I love Charray to death, they have unlimited chemistry. But it sometimes offends me when people say that the pairing of Charray is as bad as Raymond and Yoyo, that's all rubbish. And seriously we are in the 21th Century, everyone is still so worried about age. Yes, Charm is older than Ray by 4 years but she has kept her age looking so young and Ray is 27 but he's much more mature for his age so they are compatabile! I thought DOL would have more Charray scenes from the beggining but so far just a kiss on the tram and episode 19! Guess we'll have to wait! I don't like how CCTV and TVB cut scenes out and most of them are the Charray scenes! Anyhow, I'm so excited to join this Haven of Charrayness!

we are on a roll ppl!! soon there will be a third thread for Charray!! wahahha.. that will be awesome... and so many more new supporters of Charray.. glad there are more people appreciating there chemistry...

anywho.. i dont even bother going to those hate threads.. read a few of the post before but i just them pointless with pointless arguments.. but i do realise that its mainly the people who r fans of Raymond being other females celebs thus they would insult any other pairing with Raymond because they obviously think only their female idol is worthy of Raymond.. one word to describe that.. sad!!

We should just spend our energy here discussing about this perfect couple rather than setting those losers straight. You are right, when it comes to chemistry, Charray's age gap does not matter at all! Why would the producers cast Charray if they are not perfect for the role? Not all TVB people are blind you know. Except tthe ones who cut out Charray's part of course. Do you know that TVB cut out that scene of Charray and GiGi by the river in Canada in ep 21?! I know that's not really a critical scene but still. Charray was there! I'm begining to wonder if they cut out our Charray's clips, what did they add to make their version 2 eps longer?!

I just hope that they don't cut any more out and hope even more that they add more Charray scenes in!

I haven't watched any series lately but I do want to watch DOL. A lot of people are arguing that the chemistry of DOL dropped because of Charray??? But I have to watch it to judge although I don't believe Charray is responsible for the ratings. It's annoying how Charray always get attacked. O.O

I am not a die hard fan of Charray but I don't hate them either. I like Fungyi. Although I want to give Charray my support.

Let them continue watching the show, sooner or later, they will see and appreciate the love between charray and the actring skills by charmaine.

Like what the article said, if not for the 4 villians who entered the scene. tHe ratings wouldnt be so high. This is one good evidence that show how great her acting skills are. personally i am awed when i watched the episodes when charmaine came back an dcreate a hovoac. I believe those episodes where truely entertaining and deserves 5 stars! it is hard to act a villian, especially one that was so emotionally hurt previously. Charmaine and raymond both deserve a pat in the back for doing so well. Sheren did a good job too. Frankly speaking the rest of the female cast werent that outstanding to me..

As long as all of us stand firm together, everything would be fine. Just believe in charmaine n raymond. Anyway, they said that the ratin dropped because of charray. I dun think so. If i remebered, those episodes when there was no charmaine after she ditched him at the altar, the ratings werent as good as previous. So just ignore it. Dont let the others influence the way we judge the show.

I can't wait to see ep 22 today. It's going to be so sad and emotional seeing Charm so devastated but then we get to see Ray comforting his love. I think Charm did such a great job with that particular scene at the prison room where [spoiler]her mother died.[/spoiler] and Ray was so supportive rushing over and hug Charm. That's one of my favorite scene too because it's so touching and memorable.

yeah, i have been pretty busy these few months, rarely use the computer now, my midterm results weren't that good as i had to juggle the vigorous trgs that i had. But the trgs have been reduced, so i would most prob be able to come more often. Yep, ignorance is bliss. If there are charray haters let them be. Thanks ah si for the rating results. Overall not bad. Could have been better though.BUt seeing that it is a 60 episode show there will be times when the ratings arent as ideal as we expected them to be. But i believe once the show reaches to about episode 30-50, the ratings would increase. Cause it is really the climax of the show. Many charray scenes for us to look at adoringly.

[spoiler]i absolutely love the scene in episode 43 of DOl when raymond begged charmaine to forget her revenge and asked her to stab him. It was soo heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time[/spoiler]

Totally agree with you babysport! Raymond and Charmaine both did an oustanding job on that scene, it made me cry because Raymond's acting got through to me and I loved how they made Ray's character still remember that he had Myolie. Instead of making Ray's character look like he's two hearted. Charmaine did an amazing job also when she told Damien and Gigi to beg for their grandchild. [But I find Damien innocent, Gigi...argh she pisses me so much in this series!] Gigi's always saying "This family can't fall apart" when it was her that took the step to make it fall into pieces and inflict the pain on her son and Charmaine. Charray's chemistry is so real that you can thin that they're dating in reality! Though many say that Raymond and Myolie make the best couple I still find Charray more compatablie and believable. Lots of Charray haters use the excuse of age difference, hello it's the 21st century. Anywho, love this haven and all the Charray lovers here!

ehh... i wonder wwhen raymond is getting with myolie so that i could skip those scenes, but im so glad charray still end up together. its kinda sad how everytime charray get back together something always breaks them up and then they get back together again. oOo... when raymond breaks up with myolie i cant wait to see him back with charmaine since they are the perfect match.

Today i was in such desperation for some Charrayness that i went on todou (or something like that...forgot the webbie! LOL) and rewatched some old Charray/DOL interviews and clips. And i was watching the one with the DOL cast Sina interviews in Beijing (my new avatar is actually a clip from that interview) and i just couldn't help but fall in love with them all over again! Their chemistry was so obvious and it just made other couples look so bad! ROFL! If you don't believe go watch it for yourself; i'm not exaggerating (too much anyway ) They were sitting SOOOO close to each other that their arms&shoulders were touching while all the other pairs (like Feng Shao Feng and Myolie) had these wide gaps between them! And it was really cute in the beginning where Charray were talking and then Charm started humming the DOL themesong and Ray was laughing really hard, supporting his girl. And i just love how they're always so matching in clothes! (how much do you wanna bet that Ray only wore that pink shirt to match his lovely Charmie! Just for his Charmie he can throw away his manly pride just for one interview! ) LOL i'm in total a total Charray haze right now and will probably end up sitting in front of my comp all night watching Charray clips.

LOL you probably don't know me since i'm considered a newbie here (i've dropped by the old Charray forum every now and then to read the posts but never had the time to actually post due to the mountains and mountains of schoolwork my teachers have so nicely given me ROFL! ) but it's a pleasure to meet you as i can tell just from your post above that you're a SUPER Charray fan like most of us here. And nope, our big family hasn't changed at all; still BIG, still WARM, still NICE, still CRAZY. I wanted to have someone to hug too when I saw ray hugging charm in eps 22. I love that part when I was watching it in mando and now when I have seen it in canto I just fall in love with it all over again. They way how ray was cearing for charm and how heartbroken charm was all this kind of things just make it great. I think that pairnig charray in DOL is the best decision TVB ever have done. I mean who could portrayed the characters better then them? I must say that I love the end scene in eps 22 when ray kissed charms head that was soo sweeeeeeeeeet!!! LOVE IT

I think Charray's performance in DOL is just superb. Even those who don't really Charmaine/Raymond have admitted that their performance in DOL are excellent! Charray are the best!

Oh No we're going behind in the pages. But Don't worry. Charray is soo good in DOL there's going to be a part 3 in no time. I'm watching bits of them but when I get back to the Us i'm going to download all the episode and watch alll the Charray Parts. I hope also that they'll make a DVD version will all the Charray parts. Since I'm really bored I'll be watching/seaching for some ChArray MV's.

And i swear that either they're both super incredible actors (which they are) OR...they have something going on OFF-screen (hahaha i prefer the latter of the two ) because their love and chemistry with/for each other is just too darn good to be fake! No matter how good their acting skills are...i can sense real feelings when they're smack right there in front of me (on the tv screen)! All their scenes are just soooo sweet and romantic...they just make me fall head-over-heels for them! :yay: (i love this little puffy guy!) Hmmm...i think i'm starting to ramble now...sorry, but you know mee...i get very crazy and ecstatic when talking about the one and only Charray! (actually i'm also trying to get my posts longer than yours Jupi....but i'll never admit it! Muahahahahah! ) Ooooh the QQ interview was just the BESTEST thing in the WORLD! OMG, it was just the ULTIMATE dose of Charray; you could just SEE right there, with your naked eyes how comfortable and totally amazing they are with each other (and how hott they both looked in their matching outfits!)!! And in almost every interview/function i watch of them i can almost ALWAYS catch a clip or two of Charm whispering or joking with Ray. (lol damn, i think i just gave away how many times i re-watch Charray clips! ) LOL, i think i'll stop here...even though i know i didn't beat Jupi (i'm getting kinda hungry ) But the challenge is still on! Heehee!

By the way, anyone here good at making MVs?? 'Cause i have an idea: i know we all wanted Charm to be in Ray's newest MV for the DOL subtheme instead of Bernice. However, we can make our OWN MV by cutting Charray scenes in DOL! It'll be SOOO perfect! I'd totally do it, but i don't know how to make MVs....hoping that someone who is talented in the MV field and crazy about Charray will read this and make one! You will forever be respected in the hearts of all the Charray fans here!!

haha well if u was going to faint in eps 19 when ray pulled charm closer then u must wait till eps 30, I can't imagine how u will act when u see that part.. i just love charray in that part I ahve re-watch it over and over again and I can't get enought. ah i think that my love for charray is over 100 soon I can't handle it

yeah u really should watch the qq interview, that is something u can't miss of charray they are really sweet and they also mention when they meet and how they meet in TVB, and it was a surprise for me that charray have know each other for so long ^^ but well I hightly recomend u to watch the qq interview that have eng sub edit by sehseh u can find that interview on yourtube too just tell me if u can't find it?

Well I can keep chatting about this couple like forever, I understand that u will bee mad when u hear or see bad post about charray I used to bee like that before but now I think I have change maybe I have grown older or I just don't care what other ppl say about this couple as long as I know that charray have amazing chemistry and there are more and more charray fans that reconize that this couple is great then I'm fine with that ^^
wow! u are the same as me (soo funny to know) well I just love the eyes emotions that they have, both are great in expressing their feelings through eyes ( I'm always babbling non stop about that eye emotions that they have for my sisters and they just roll their eyes, they can see it but they don't fall in love like me )

got bored last night and decided to watch that QQ interview with Charray.. and i love it.. its so great seeing them together being such chummy buddies.. i serious loved the fact that during the interview they sat closer and closer to each other.. and it was as if it was like a magnet cos it was so unintentional (or was it??) and i also love how they have so many personal jokes and stuff.. really awesome when u see celebs with personal jokes it just proves what great friends they are in reality..

well.. noe that Charmaine is back in HK hopefully there will be more DOL promotions which means more Charray!!

Hahaha well I haven't re-watch the QQ interview yet, last time I watch it was two month ago if I hven't remember wrog. Well charray sure was cute and lovely in the interview and I like that too that they sat more and more close to eachother ^^soo sweet, even if my sister is not a charray fans when she saw them with matching outfits she did say that charray was sweet. :D
Well I hope there will be more charray promotions in HK for DOL we will see if that will happen.

August 15: Return
Ever since Auntie Ping's death, I've stayed in Hong Kong to be with Sau Fung. She even worried that because of this it'll delay my work, constantly trying to get me to return to Beijing. But i just can't. Maybe it's because of this, she decided to go back to work, perhaps trying to prove to me that she's feeling better now? Or maybe i'm just thinking too much. Maybe going back to work will help her grasp back onto regular life, not a bad thing at all.

From the moment of getting on the plane in Hong Kong to getting off in Beijing I was hesitating the whole time whether or not i should've come back to work. The image of Sau Fung all alone in her apartment flashed through my mind, causing me to have a sudden urge to rush back to Hong Kong. Even though Sau Fung has said, i cannot possibly be by her side 24 hours a day, I should let her stand up independently, but still i'm feeling uneasy about it. But...forget it, i'm at the car plant right now and i should not let my emotions affect my work. I must be stronger, living life to the fullest to be able to protect the one i love. Sau Fung, we'll get through this together, see you during break time.

Yeah I just love charray in DOL and they are soo dam good in DOL. I really agree with u that charrays eyes kissing is great but I don't think they have as much eye emotions like in LWOLAP maybe b/c this one they have more real kissing instead of eyes they are just too great for eachother really hope that TVB will pair them up again.
