don't you think that in the current TVB series (2007) have loads of main leads? (like in healing hands) eg. in drive of life, heart of greed and jewel's splendor they all have like 10 main characters....

Also is it me or is the new TVB series (2007 again) have LOADS of episodes...?
in Jewel's splendor there is 80! and in drive of life there is 60!!!
it's gonna take a while for me to download... nvm even watch it. How long do you think it will take me to watch from start to end? three months? lol

I think they're doing it on purpose.. some people have been complaining about those typical '20 eps' short series is low quality and only a few stars are in it so they're losing audience..

in order to gain back rating they decided to film many series with huge casts and long eps.. so that something actually happens

i think tvb are pulling out all the stops to regain viewers. Heart of Greed has an amazing casts personally for me, and the storyline is good, its the sort of thing that most chinese people like tuning in to watch. Its also perfect timing as asia's richest woman Nina Wang recently pasted away and there is a lot of controversy over who is to inherite the business and her fortunes, so i think a lot of chinese people are going to be interested in watching this series. There is also a heck of a lot of romantic triangles going on in this show that will interest the younger viewers, because at the moment TVB are losing out heavily to korean and taiwanese dramas like hana kimi, hospital, snow queen etc....

furthermore recent shows like 'life art' were extremely poor in terms of attracting viewers as the storyline was pretty rubbish to be honest.

all the popular series have either been really long running ones or ones with many sequels like journey to the west, healing hands etc....

its about time TVB put a bit of effort into there programs cos in recent years they've only been churning out mediocre series that i dont give a toss if i miss

usually long series attracts more ppl to watch it...cause most of it is like family fued

well i would perfer 20 WELL THOUGHT OUT eps instead of 60 DRAWN OUT eps....

sure will tk some time to finish watching these long series, but as long as the story is very interesting and attractive, it will b worth to watch it

im really liking 'best selling secrets' at the moment. Ive heard there is about 120 eps, but they only last about 30minutes each. Its a really good series, everyone should watch it.

i personally prefer the 30-40 episodes, that's just right for a film and can fit anything in. If the story is short and you can't do anything else, then a 20 will be perfect, if it's like police stuff then it can be 30 odd if it's like family fighting over fortunes and stuff then it can be a lil longer and be like... 40 or something but 60 and 80... i'm dying.
I'd like to see what they're doing and hope they're not going to drag it....

i personally like 30-40 episode series more. it has a better story line and stuff is carried out better. the ending isnt rushed either. hope there are more of longer series

Sometime about 30 eps is about just right...20 eps sometimes too short...but 60 or 80 eps is a bit long....and sometimes it gets draggy and loose intrested in watching the series!
