I'm trying to compile a list of love songs (not SAD songs) for my sister for her wedding...

My sister and her fiance were big fans of cantopop in the 80s and 90s. (four heavenly kings in particular)

Am scraping my brains to think of some good HK songs for them. It's so hard to just think of them

The only ones i could think of so far are

- Serng Serng Dui Dui - Leon Lai
- Love is Forever - Jacky Cheung
- Ferris Wheel - Eason Chan

BUT I KNOW THERE ARE HEAPS MORE!!

Can ppl please help!!

Thanks

Well, which of the 4 kings they like the most? Don't know any of the song you've named. But Jacky Cheungs "Love you everyday more" is the most common and most used at weddings... Actually I've sung that one 2times a my friends weddings smile.gif

The theme song to "Lost In Love" by William So and Flora Chan is really good.
Just in case you ddin't know, "Lost in Love" is a (Chinese) wedding based TVB series so the theme matches really well.

Do you mean music for a church ceremony or music for the reception?

(I play the organ for church ceremonies.)
jadedreams27
I think English slow songs make the best wedding songs, but that's just me, some songs which I think would be great at weddings....

Save the best for Last- Vanessa Williams.......just really nice song, especially if the couple met when they are with other people....

These are the moments- Edwin McCain

Never gonna let you go- Faith Hill

Back at one- Brian McKnight.....

At the beginning- Richard Marx and Donna Lewis.....how they would start their journey together.....

Amazed- Lonestar

we're not getting married in the church...
and I don't really like organ music...
it's for the ceremony...
maybe you'll have a tip...
littlemui
For the ceremony, you can just have a nice instrumental playing in the background. One of my friend's had someone play the flute for her ceremony.

Organ music can also be arranged to be played by other instruments like a keyboard or violin. There's the regular stuff like "Pachebel's Canon" or "The Queen of Sheba".

Hmm ..

I personally like Yanzi's theme song "Turn Left, Turn Right" movie's theme. The piano piece is really nice. Very touching.

Michael Wong's new song (also a piano piece with no singing) "¶¼ÊÇÄã" is not bad.
amzii
yeah Cannon D's really nice =D but thats a piano instrumental thing... if you want some singing in it. like normal music (for your reception), i suggest Eternal Flame by Atomic Kitten, or maybe something chinese... there are lots of chinese/jap/korean songs out there that sound really nice for weddings! its so lovey dovey too.. lol so yeah

congrats about the wedding btw! best of luck!

gaijai
i would pick slow songs.....songs that have meaningful lyrics. it can be english or chinese.
annabananabamboo
i would definitely pick slow romantic songs for a wedding...they dont even have to have someone singing in them...just something that bring out the romance of the wedding
but i think also playing songs that are special to them would be good...like are there any songs that have a special meaning to them? any songs that brought them together? the song in the background when he asked her to marry him? anything like that
just remember: dont pick songs that you like and are meaningful to you, pick songs THEY like and are meaningful to them!

may_cms
I choose loads of jacky's song too for my wedding reception... maybe you can check out the song he sang for his wife.. (i dunno how to write it in pinyin) blush.gif

besides this, i think soft background music would be better than something loud and noisy. but then again, it depends very much on what kindda mood you wanna set for your guest.

by e way, CONGRAGULATIONS!

I could use some help with love songs for my sister's weddingday tongue.gif

I've always love "From This Moment" by Shania Twain. It's such a wedding and sweet song.

Part of the lyrics:

Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow,
For better or worse, I will love you with every beat of my heart

From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you
Is where I belong
From this moment on

From this moment I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I'd give my last breath
From this moment on

I give my hand to you with all my heart
Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you
Asiaphile
West Side Story's song about "Make of two hearts one heart" (can't remember the actual title) always got me at weddings. Then there's the Hawaiian Wedding Song, you know, "This is the moment, I've waited for...." etc. Most songs are totally forgettable, but these two stuck with me, esp. the song from West Side Story. Leonard Bernstein gave it such a nice tune.

Good old Internet. Found the lyrics for that song from West Side Story:

TONY (Sings)
Make of our hands one hand,
Make of our hearts one heart,
Make of our vows one last vow:
Only death will part us now.

MARIA
Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.

BOTH
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart;
Even death won't part us now.

Make of our lives one life,
Day after day, one life.
Now it begins, now we start
One hand, one heart,
Even death won't part us now.
