Anyone disappointed with Ha Yu's death scene? I thought it would be an emotional/dramatic scene..but it felt lacking. I definately think TVB cut some of the dialogue that would have made it more emotional...I remember watching an E-buzz interview with Ha Yu, where he said he was talking to Fala before he dies, and even he (the actor) got really emotional cuz he thought of his own daughter..
What do you think of Ha Yu's death scene?

I thought it was very fitting...to have had so much turmoil in the last year of his life, to be able to die while smiling is true not only to his character but to the moment. A death scene doesn't have to be full of sorrow to make an impression...I thought that the scene was just perfect.

Ha Yu's death scene was okay at least he died smiling and having the chance to see his grandson being born and even made his english and chinese name.

I thought Ha Yu's death scene was good... I love how he died while smiling cuz that's what his character is all about from the beginning.. It's nice that he tried to change the subject whenever Susanna was reminding him to change his will... I thought the greatest part is when he thought of a english name for his granddaughter..

I think Ha Yue's death scene was done pretty well! I think a death scene doesn't always need to be emotional/dramatic as long as it's memorable!
Actually Ha Yue has a "happy & lively" character, he even died with his "signature laugh"!....that's his character! We can see how he tries to speak to his children in a very lively tone during his last moment in life. Just like ordinary family chat but yet he knows it will be the last time he is talking to them. I can see how he controls his emotion while speaking to his children one by one....
He tells Moses & Michelle to take care of the family. He teaches Bosco how to take care of the baby.....lots of good ideas though. LOL! It's funny that he gave Tong Sum an English name...Sam!
He is happy to see the photo of Chris's girlfriend saying that he has already grown up. He tells Fala to be good & listen to his elder brothers.... Then he goes...........!
I'm very impressed with his good acting skill......one of the best in HOG!

I thought his death scene was alright. At least he was still smart enough to get back at his wife to see his kids and talk to his kids and pass away peacefully. It is sad he passed away but it was forthcoming and to see him pass away with a smile I think makes it less sorrow

well i was fine with it...though it was quite sad as well...like before he died, he was able to see his sons and daughers and his grand daughter...very touching...and he even lied to susanna that he will give half his wealth to her just to see them...he did anything just to see them again...man dunno wat im saying but it was tragic

Hey, i know wat you mean...i felt that it was lacking some emotion in there. Didn't get as much a sad feeling, just felt more annoyed wen the bad people kept on asking him to change his will. That took away some of that sad feeling. But was good that he died smiling tho, like some others said, died matching his personality.

i thought he will talk to his second wife " i will not give you 1 penny" before he died. because he promised her , if she let his children and granddaughter come visiting him, he will give her half of his money. if he don't talk like this before he die, she may using this point to fight on court.

i wish they could have made it more like a Lee C K death, but the part where moses plays the sex when he died and replays scenes of him with the family- that i find breathetaking
I actually liked his death scene, it was fitting for the development and his character as well. A dramatic death scene would make it seem like a replay of Lee Si Kei's death scene.
I am not sure of Ha Yu's feelings toward Suzanna at that point. But I think he should have said something more emotional to her before he died, just to have more of a build up for her turn around.

i thought it was quite stupid. He seems so alert and happy and talkative, talking about giving Tong Sum an English name, and then all of a sudden he closes his eyes and he dies just like that? So weird...and the part where Sai Kai did not let the family go into the hospital room and the funeral services room to see his body is just soooo wrong and evil!!! And I find it kind of weird that Tavia's family is so involved and helpful to Sai Kai. It just doesn't make sense to me

Least Ha Yu did play his wife once more before he died and was happy when he left didn't want him to die at all though.

I thought it was good how they did it. It was really still quite touching. He was still thinking about his kids before he died. Like what everyone else said, it would've been a replay of dai ma's death if it was too sorrowful. I was glad he could see them all one last time before he left. The grieving over his death was very well done by moses after that. I think it compensates.

It was fine. I was just surprised by how quick Ha Yu's health could change. I mean he was all fresh and all when he spoke to his family. He carried Tong Sam and gave them advice. Suddenly he just leaned back and died.. It happened pretty quickly.

i loved the death scene. he died with his shoulders moving up and down - his most noticable feature. and he died saying "ngorn lork sai la (no more worries)" and that's what he's most worried about, his children. knowing they are safe lets him die a peacefully death. i think it was greatly acted out and planned out. nicely done!

I found Ha Yu's death scene absolutely ridiculous. One moment he was weakly giving in to Susanna Kwan's demands. The next moment he was talking happily with his children like he was in the best of health. Then suddenly he said his last words and closed his eyes before taking his last breath. I have no doubts that the part where he was with his children is indeed heart-warming but the way he died was quite simply ridiculous, more reminiscent of a scene that belongs to a Stephen Chow movie.

he was only trying to lead susanna off. it was his plan all along. he tried to make her think that he would change his will so that he can see his children one last time. then he dies without changing the will. if he wasnt pretending to be weak and giving in, do you think she would let him see his children?

thats why i thought he was really clever.

this wasnt such a sad drmatic death scene, which i really appreciated cos i'd been crying so much throughout the series anyway. besides, dai bao died happy and laughing, which is the perfect way to die. he named his granddaughter and left the world with a peaceful mind..

I tot it was not bad, except yes, I do agree that the relatives asking him to change his will was a little distracting. Other than that, it need not be a tragic death scene. It suits his character.

I thought that it was really sad. Can't believe that when he died Susanna and Linda's brother went to make a mess. Won't let his kids come and see him before he left. Too evil
