Hey..... I just went to Taiwan recently and lately they have had this show called 超級星光大道 that is extremely popular. Its basically the Taiwan version of the Idol series. I know HK has their version too. The singers on there sung extremely well....especially when you got to the top 10. Here is the official site(with the top 10 contestants) for those that havent seen it......... They also released a album called stars reunion (超級星光大道) not to long ago with the top 10 contestants going in to the studio to sing their favorite songs. Its been selling like crazy in Taiwan.

Has anyone else seen this show before and what did you think of it? I thought they sung really well and stuff. The only thing that I found kinda weird is the fact that they all cried so much.hehe. before this I saw the Idol series they had in Singapore and also the thing in HK with Mr.Mok and Fung Man Lok.

I just got a chance to watch Season 1 a few days ago and dam am I hooked!!! I love the first, second and third place winners. They're good looking and they can sing. Gonna start watching Season 2 soon =]

The show is now on its second season. Only 13 contestants remaining. Majority are female unlike the first season. My favorite bet is Yuming. What do you think of the 2nd season?

OMGOSH!! I think I'm OFFICIALLY OBSESSED with "One Million Stars" now!! :yay: hehe, it's funny cause I have always heard about this show but I never watched it because I didn't think it would be that interesting...haha, guess I was wrong!! Why?? Cause ENERGY are one of the many judges on there!!!! hehe, I mean it's SO freaken AWESOME seeing your favorite singers on there! <33 AND omgosh, WOW!! I LOVE them to death but sometimes I feel that they are pretty mean laughing at the contestants... lol AND omgosh, Xiao Gang seriously FLIRTS A LOT with most of the female contestants!!!! XD *shaking head*

Anyways, I only watched one episode and it's the one where the Indian??? girl was singing, "Whenever Wherever" and I thought she did an okay job singing it. It was kinda of hard trying to make out what she was trying to sing, but her dance moves were okay... x) I don't really understand the rules of the show since I haven't watched it before but it seems somewhat unfair that this girl is better dancer than other people...and EVERYONE is completing together??

Oh yeah, I'm somewhat annoyed but this girl Lin Yi Rong. I mean, she sang this Boa song and it was pretty good and then her face just COMPLETELY dropped when she heard all the remarks from the judges I mean she DID pass but still, the look on her face wasn't very happy. XD haha, whatever.

Okay, I'm def. looking forward in watching MORE of these episode! ^___^

just found out season 2 top 10 consist of 8 girls and 2 guys
while season 1 consists of 8 guys and 2 girls (or isit 9 guys and 1 girl)
Thats like so weird...

Season 1 the top 10 had only 1 gal.. the rest of the 9 were guys ok 8 guys and 1 boy. the kid is like 13 or 14. Yoga Won.

Season 2 had mostly gals.. Yuming Won.

Season 3 is up! They are having auditions in Taiwan, LA, Singapore & Tokyo....

Just got addicted to this show two days ago. Some of the contestants annoyed me to death, but I'm glad that they've found amazing voices like You Jia, Aska, Peter, Judy...though I find all of their names to be unusual. But whatever. Their voices are soooo good!

I love Season One. There were so many great singers during that season. Loved everyone in the top 10; they were all really good.

Season 2 was ok... but I thought Season 3 was just a disappointment. It was kind of obvious who was going to win, even before the top 10 were chosen.

I am officially disappointed in this show now. Season 3 was a huge disappointment. Freaking RIGGED FINAL SHOW!! The judges have HUGE problems, and they love being biased. I'm not even looking forward to the 4th Season anymore. The best season was number 1, and that's it.

season 1 and season were okay, as for season 3, disappointment. Also just watched first episode of season 4, also seems boring

first season was great, 2nd okay, 3rd disappointing and 4th maybe too - 1st season created such huge impact that it will be difficult to find another aska yang and Jam xiao. instead of this right now am focus on super idol - i think the contestants are much more talented and interesting.

I love to watch this show. first season was very very good, but I can't finish the second season.

out of all the seasons, i think season 1 is the best! season 2 was okay and season 3 was horrible. in season 1, although yoga is kind of expected to be the champion, at least he showed that he is worthy of it.he has great singing skills and he has tried all kinds of songs unlike jiaying who only know how to sing her own songs. no offence but i really think that the judges are very biased in season 3, jiaying is so expected to win and i think there are other contestants that are better than her. i am not planning to watch season 4 partly because of season 3.

I watch this show every week. I like the 1 and 2 season. I love 陶子 very very much. She is the best host. I am so happy she is back to this show.

Season one is hands down the best season. I rewatched the entire first season this week and it can't be topped. Even the song choices were so unique and good in comparison.

Seriously, can Yuming, Jiaying, and Queenie compare to Yoga's singing skills? He's got an outstanding vocal range and incredible stage presence. Remember his interpretation of "Creed" and Eason's "Last Order?" I got goosebumps.

I watched all four back-to-back and Yoga wins. Plus, he's improved even more since he won the title. He's already found success outside of OMS and barely 21.

I also see 陶子 had a closer relationship with the top ten from the first season too....

Omg, I love Kevin Xie...he's so cute! When he grows older, he's going to be good!

Notice the emphasis on the words "used to"...
The talent is fading, the judging is becoming questionable
But worst of all is that they keep complicating the rules of the comp
I know they're trying to make things more interesting to win back viewers
But all it's doing is making the show less credible
Right now, I'd actually prefer watching Super Idol

With Season one, you saw the judges giving constructive criticism and feedback and the contestants actually taking it in and improving.

Notice also the quality of already established musicians/artists appearing as well.

Yes, season one is the best. Among all the champions from season one to four, i would say, Yoga is the best. His vocal is amazing.
At the moment, i'm watching season 5. This time, i find that there's quite a number of good participants. Hope they will be the next Yoga Lin.

seriously, after the first 2 seaons, it went downhill (even then, i didnt really watch 2nd, i watched it when there are 1st season ppl as guests)...
i only know the ppl from the first 2 seasons..
it was most discussd during first with Aska, Yoga, Jam Hsiao etc...
i was obsessed with Xing Gwang Bang..i rewatchd season 1 plenty of times and its still exciting!

i think they shoudnt make the seasons so frequent and fast..they should rest in between..and i liked the original judges....

i dont know whether or not its this season's contestants fault of the judges are just not being what they were before either way the 8 left or whatever they are down to now arent that good, 陳浩偉 the guy who was a signed artist once before was pretty good imo and i didnt understand why he was sent home. i thought this show was suppose to be about singing and how good you are but the last couple of seasons were quite disappointing.

But only because this summer I went to see the mengniu suansuan ru concert and one of the performers was this guy named Yoga (James) Lin and he was really hot and sang pretty well too :] so i did a little research and it turned out he won one season of One Million Star in Taiwan

The earlier part of the competition for this season was actually pretty good, but it's not so anymore. I mean, I can't remember which judge said it...I think Phil Chang (Zhang Yu)...but he was not impressed with the Top Ten because they were still getting scores in the 'teens.' When you're Top Ten, you're supposed to be the cream of the crop. Dennis Sun Zi You seems to be the only one with consistent performances...everyone else is fluctuating. I loved Rose Liu Ming Xiang from the get-go, but she's back and forth. Seriously, song selection can really make or break you.

I miss Yoga and season one so much! No one has been able to beat Yoga's number of perfect scores to date. He is so amazing!

^A good number of season one's contestants were signed to record companies, but signing doesn't guarantee an album release right away. The first one was Xiao Mei....I think HIS album came out before Aska, Yoga, and even Jam! He's already released his second one too! Judy, Peter, Stanly, Sharon, Sharks....were signed. Miles didn't get a contract....

In terms of success, the record company execs are probably most satisfied with Yoga. Concerts, albums, GMA nomination.....he's living up to his reputation and success. Yoga's obviously the most successful of OMS's winners.

I think the first season was the best. from there on, the show just went down the hill.
