I know she likes Ron and will admit it, I saw the trailer, it sounds so weird haha xD. I hope her performance in this one is better than Price Of Greed, TBOL was better. So I shall give her another chance. If she messes up this time... xD But okay, she is kinda with Ron again, but they've been voted the worse couple ever, I hope in this one it's not as bad. I am not sure if she'll be with Ron any moment, because Joey is paired up with Ron...

What are your opinions on her character and her performance in On The First Beat?

she is another girl I can not stand her acting and specially the role she is playing she is going to be a tom boy she already is one when she tried to be a lady like imagine in thie role where she needs to be on it'lkl be very natural for her.

it seems like her chasing after ron is funny. how she is clingy and unwilling to give up. although i feel bad for her character, cause ron will never like her and i dont know but i think it seems mean of ron to reject her in the ways he used from the previews.

Does anyone know when she will appear, like which episode?

I hope she improves, cos i'm a big fan of her and i don't exactly want her to be annoying on screen. She did improve in TBOL, so let's hope she improves here too.

Her paring is quite weird though, cos she's with Kenny, and he looks like 10 years younger than her. lol. Feel sorry for her since she's rejected by Ron!

She appears in Ep 4...she makes a very manly appearance..LOL

She appeared in epi.4.......her hair is so short & her behaviour was so tomboyish! Her role is completely different from TBOL & TPOG! Really look like a different person!
She was the daughter of Ron's auntie Lan.....so she's Ron's cousin! How interesting!

^agreed. I was shocked, I was like what the hell is she doing there ' It looked really weird on her, I always saw her as a girly-girl, because of Price Of Greed. I hope she still improves. If at the end, she done the role good, means she improved, because it seems like the opposite of herselfs

Her character is really funny. Especially where in the mid-night, she forced her mom to cook for her. Also where she wouldn't let her mom leave until "The Legend of the Condor Hero" and she forgot all about her mom.LOL

wen i first saw her, man her hair and everything...really loooked like a guy! but her character in this drama really annoys me...caused ron and sammul to not able to go 'bip' ...dont like her at all -.-

I didn't even recognize her when I first saw her. I was like..wait a minute, that's Kate?! hah. I can't picture her in such a masculine role.

I think after Episode 5, I think it's a bit more acceptable after Episode 4 .. It's actually quite funny, I was just shocked in Episode 4 because of her appearance and how she talked etc. I think I will get used to it when I continue watching the series ^^

I find her role kind of funny. How she came out was funny too how joey thought she was a guy in the beginning... but honesty she does tho from the back... this seems liek a very challengeing role for her tho... first she has to cut her hair and now act a role that she never really acted before... but shez doing an ok job at it.... hope it gets better

She definitely looks and sounds her part. If you find her annoying, then I think she's doing her job because she is supposed to be the annoying cousin/daughter. Generally (not to sterotype or anything) tomboy girls are loud and annoying because they act like tough guys and tough guys are usually loud and annoying because they think their tough and all.

i think she's doing okay. her acting is still pretty stiff...she's lacking the in depth characterization, but i think it's just the beginning. kate has to get used to being a tomboy herself, so i think she'll develop into the character later into the series. it isn't easy in the beginning adjusting to a personality so unlike yourself, right? you can see some slight improvement. it's not drastic, but come on, she's still a newbie.

the only thing i really want to complain about is that haircut....

Her acting is definately improving in this serie. Her voice is not that annoying anymore.

I have no comment about her acting, have never seen her in any other series, so can't tell if she has improved or not but one thing, Lord, the short cut is just so bad! ><

She is suppose to be an annoying character, yes we understand that part, but it's her acting that's very annoying. It's not just in this series, but in past series as well. Her acting as an annoying character and the acting itself is very annoying.

She takes on a completely different role in this series......very annoying, rude & boyish! In fact, her short hair really suits her character. Definitely cannot relate her to any of the roles she had tried before. A newlook & a good try!

although she is challenging another types of role but i still find her annoying as her other drama..this is much more annoying..the whole image and character just not work on her...too exxagerated i guess..

this girl needs to seriously rethink her 'acting' career.
this is not her first series in acting so you would have thought she would have improved somewhat, but not so.
although she does act a different role here as opposed to her previous ones, the basics of acting skills are the same criteria - and she hasnt fulfilled these at all!
her voice is annoying, she cant pronounce some chinese words properly and ends up slurring her speech.
her attempt at boyishness although courageous is very exaggerated and leaves one feeling she is very un-natural in speech/mannerisms etc.
no expression or too much expression! no depth to the point it sometimes feel she is just reciting her lines!
and the haircut! not her fault but still, it adds to the bad points!

OMG...her character is so ANNOYING. Esp. in episode 6 with her fake cry getting the crowd's sympathy.

To my surprise, I found her quite cute in epi.8......very daring to tell Ron that she liked him. She treated Ron as a hero because he had saved her life......so funny! She said she wouldn't give up & tried to impress Ron & make him change his mind.

I was actually impressed with heracting in Price of Greed. As I newbie, I thought she did well. She's also pretty decent. But her acting seems to have deteriorated. She's pretty bad in Brink of Law and now in this series she overacts greatly.

i'm not really a fan of Kate, but it's nice to see refreshing faces in OTFB. her character was so annoying when she first appeared, waking up her mom in the middle of the night to prepare noodles for her. and she's like always yelling! lol she becomes funny when she's chasing Ron though. it's interesting.

It's obvious that TVB understands that she can't pull off the "stylish" or "cute" look she did in other series. ANd since almost every "lowQ" starting actresses has their breakthrough when doing tomboyish characters they got more loved (like charmaine sheh, sonija kwok, etc).

Unfortunately, even this "winning strategy" does not work on her. She just can't pull it off either...

That "ooh, he's so cool, i'm in love"-scene in ep 8 totally disgust me. The way she looks... yuck...

She is just yelling and being annoying in every scene. Even her "stephen chow's" impression when she tries to act like a tv-fanatic. Don't buy it.

i didnt like her before in other series, she just didnt catch my attention, but in this, im warming up.. she's not bad after all.. all those lame scenes she did, were meant to be lame.. (i hope)! but i like her character.. and she seems to be pulling it off pretty well..

she........ah...........is really REALLLY annoying (apologizing to those who like her). she over exaggerates her part a lot. not just in this series, her other roles like in greed of heart was also bad. her acting is not natural a lot, its either she tries too hard or she's too into her character

I LOVE Kate. The first time I saw her picture during the Miss Hong Kong press conferences, I picked her out as my favorite to win, even though she didn't get any attention for the longest time. And up till The Brink of Law, I thought she was doing all right, though not very well, still okay-okay. In OTFB, however, this is just painful to watch. I'm on Episode 9 and to see her and Kenny Kwan act together is like nails on a chalkboard.

When her character is enthusiastically expressing her tomboyness, Kate tends to lean forward, stick her chest out and cock her head back a little and it's driving me nuts. It exaggerates everything else she does and it's so annoying to watch ... *tear* It's all just little things, like the way she moves her lips and twitches her eyes that make me cringe.

i dislike Kate. no offense, but her acting is soo....bleh~ it gets really annoying. she have to improve on her mouth/lip expression, it just gets so aggrevating to watch her.
in a way, she might have done a good job with her acting, especially when she yells and scream, it really did get on my nerves! grrr.

I agree with ohmyerror...I used to like Kate when she was contesting for the Ms.HK. But her acting really annoys me especially in OTFB. She is as though telling me not to watch the series...sigh...20more episodes to go...

I realli hate her character in this series, such a nuisance and so annoying. She's tomboyish as well but yeah the character is kinda of cute ....... like a kid.

I think Kate Tsui's character is amazing in this series, she is so tom boy, so tom boy funny & she makes me laugh each time I see her. Love her short hair look, she's very cute girl & I personally loved her in this one.

I think Kate has showed her best performance in this series. I actually enjoy watching her portray her character and I personally thinks she does it well.

But after watching her act here, I can't believe she was a former Miss Hong Kong. She doesn't seem to have much elegance or grace. I mean even when Sonija played an evil character in that ancient series, she still had that aura of a pageant winner in her.
