Shin Eun Gyeong's Comeback to the Small Screen

Shin Eun Gyeong will return to the small screen with new SBS Drama "Bad Couple". Previously there have been speculations about SEG's new project since it's her first time returning to act in a drama in 8 years. However SBS has announced today, that they have reached an oral agreement with SEG stating that she will take up the leading role in Bad Couple.

SEG's last drama was 8 years ago. Subsequently she focused on her movie career and came up with big hits such as My Wife is A Ganster which made her popular in the movie industry. Her other projects include Perfect Match and Bystanders (with Eric). Her dramas were said to have garnered high ratings back then, let's see what she can do in this new drama with her comeback.

Can't wait for this one! The story is unique and this romantic comedy is sure going to make me ROFL. The girl was hilarious in My Wife is a Gangster and will be a riot here going after the professor. She is perfect for this role, and LDW will fit in the role of the serious professor.

Sorry for the bad news, gals... unsure.gif

Dear all, I want to tell you a piece of news about wooka's new drama.

Our wooka (
LDW) has decided to quit the role of Bad Couple.

And his manager said it is because the drama-making company didn't give wooka enough space to exert his strength although he is the male leading role.

Honestly speaking, Bad Couple is women's drama. So if wooka accept the role, he can just act as a leaf to set off other females.

And unfortunately, after communicating with the drama-making company, they still can't add more for wooka's role, so wooka's corporation decided to give up.

The news is from konechiao's translation which is posted on baidu

*Thanks to sherrying of soompi forums.

Too bad. I respect LDW's decision and let's hope they get a good substitute. LDW may regret this decision, just like the Musa guy who turned down the male lead role in the hugely successful Damo.

JONATHAN LIE
The actress playing Han Young is Choi Jung Yoon. She was recently in a cable drama, Romance Hunter.. she was also in the big movie Radio Star. Her most memorable performance, for me, was in the old drama, Stock Flower (비단향꽃무) but she played the supporting role. Coincidentally, that drama is also about single motherhood and I recommend to watch..

I hope no one takes offense to this but I'm actually sickened by the adulterous Park Sang Min scenes.. I know some people are huge fans of him and think he's actually good looking, but I don't.. and it's not an age thing, because I find men over his age (b. 1970) totally attractive, but not him.. and because the actress Chae Min Suh is so much younger than him.. it makes it even less bearable to watch.

I love this drama!!! thumbsup.gif It's both embarassing and hilarious like Byun Jung Soo's other dramas, a little bit of "Sex in the City" and "Bridget Jones' Diary." Not as tailored or well-thought out as "My Name is Kim Sam Soon" but it is definitely directed to women in their 20s through 40s. The actresses are all great, although they do need a little more time to get comfortable in their new roles, particularly the main character, who is looking great but can't seem to get her expressions under control in the first episode (I know she'll probably be great as the series progresses). It's also a drama that could potentially bring in a huger fan base for the two opposites: a sweet but ultra-conservative botanist and a hot, sophisticated young model.

I'm tired of the "innocent" romances that are abound in most classic Korean dramas and find the subject matter more refreshing and maybe even a little more realistic (at least the part where the surgeon cheats on his wife and demands divorce) than the "love at first sight," "there is no one out there for me but you" slants that most trendy dramas feed to lonely single girls. Even as I write this, however, I hope that these women will find that one special person by the end of the series even as they resist the urge to follow the societal norms of marriage and family until, say, half-way into the last episode? I guess I can't completely kill the romantic in me (though, I seriously doubt these plots would swing in real life).

I guess I'm as puzzled as you are regarding Bad Couple. I thot it will not materialise at all since LDW has gotten himself off the hook on his own accord. Heard that his management company fails in its negiotation with the acting company. The reason given was Bad Couple would not afford or offer that acting space for LDW to capitalise on his acting talent. Hope I'm rephrasing it correctly.

The lead actress is a well-known figure in Korean movies as she has acted in a box-office movie called 'My Wife Is A Gangster Part 1'. LDW's replacement is also a well-cut actor; I remember him playing the villain in Save The Last Dance For Me. Not too bad an actor. Guess he is a more suitable candidate for the female lead compared to LDW cos' the current one's age is more or less in the same bandwidth as the lead actress who is all out looking for a suitable suitor.

I kinda of get disapointed that LDW has decided to call it quit at the 11th hour but I am over it already. Hope to see him in another role SOON!

Bye!

Shin Eun Gyeong looked so old and haggard in the show!

I watched till Ep 3, but still find her expressions awkward. It seemed to me that she can't control her face well.

But looked at the pale lips, short brows, dark eyes circles, and messy hair.... She really looked very haggard to me!!!

I do hope she does brighten up later in the show.

Story-wise, though it is a bit cliche, but could be entertaining at times. Like the cute music though. =)

no matter what they say i still think that this is a really funny series... a very interesting concept that is address here...

do love how the main actress try to hook the professor --- was laughing my butt off for the first 2 episodes... am definitely watching this series till the end...

I am on episode 10 and I find this series very entertaining. It does have a very interesting plot and different from the usual plots where a guy would typically go after a girl. I really like this series so far and hopefully the ending would be as good as the intial plot.
joan_qt2004
This is one of the best comedies I've seen from Korea. The story and the acting is wonderful and it's not overly sentimental and it doesn't try too hard to be funny. I think Ryu So Young is a wonderful actor and the role fits him well. I don't think Lee Dong Wok would have played a believable botanist, I think. I was amazed at how much I adore So Young in this drama because I really hated him in Save the Last Dance. Goes to show how great an actor he is and he is totally hot and lovable here. No woman in her right mind will let go of a man like him.

anyone of you have seen this series completly i really wanna know the ending

coz in this series i mostly like Han Young story than the others or anyone of you have the link where i can wacth this series completly????????
habukie
^the series hasn't finished yet, so we don't know the ending. do you like the han young story the best? that's actually the one i hated most in the beginning, thinking she was such a wimp, but then i started to like again as the story progressed. i still like the main story the best, especially since it's getting interesting in ep 11... (btw, you can read more about the drama at www.dramabeans.com if you don't mind spoilers)

i really love this series. i don't know why there are so many who complain about the main actress. i think she's doing a superb job of acting. you can really see the emotion on her face in the scenes. and RSW is amazing as the male lead. you may not agree, but i do not think LDW could have pulled off some of those lines. RSW is just so believeable when he's smiling adoringly, and as much as i love LDW, i'm not sure it would have been the same with him. the character i love the most, though, is Dol Soon, Dang Ja's friend. she is just so hilarious!

I LOVED THIS SERIES!!! it was amazing right to the very end!
the first half makes for such great comedy and then the 2nd half changes, becomes more serious and sad. but it all still worked so well. and it ended so perfectly this has become one of my top fav kdramas.
the plot is very unique and different to most typical plots and thats one of the reasons that made it so interesting to watch. it definitely gets off to a great start that draws u in. and the kids in this drama were simply ADORABLE!
also Gi Chan...didnt like the actor before this but after watching him in the role of Gi Chan he's great! if only all guys were like him. lol
oo and the 'fake lover' he was HOTT.
gcwchan
I finished this series and overall I really liked it. I thought it was very cute and nothing too dramatic. A good series to watch.
Tiffiany_45
Wow!!! This drama is SOOOO underrated!!! It was EXTREMELY good. I enjoyed pretty much every second of it, and I even liked the Husband/Wife/Lover storyline. It's rare for me to like the other storylines in dramas than the main one!

I really recommend this drama to all who are questioning whether to watch it or not.

I was LAUGHING OUT LOUD and HARD at the beginning of the drama, and my heart was hurting and my eyes were full of tears at the end!!!

I just wish there was more at the end. Not just skipping to the 6 years later part. I'd have liked to see the struggle.

Definite must see!!!

4/5 stars for me!

This drama would set you riding on an emotional roller coaster. I swear you'd laugh your head off because some of the lines are unpredictably bold and funny! The cheating and cocky husband of the second female lead along with his bitchy arrogant girlfriend will make your veins pop. The vulnerability of each character will clutch your heart and bring tears to your eyes, especially both the male and female lead of the cast.

Don't miss out because it's a very enjoyable drama with a special twist in the end.
crzygyrl
i love the drama...you will be in a 'rollercoaster' emotions too---laugh and cry, but nevertheless, the drama is worth watching =)
mela
i love this drama, it's hilarious and full of sad scenes... i think!

but i had a good time watching the series... it's definitely worth your time...
you'll love the female lead!

yea. SEG and RSY have done a good job for BC. Despite rating for BC is lower i.e. about 12% only (if not mistaken) than the other series (about 25%), I still think BC is better.

Love the OST too.
