Since no one started a thread on this summer drama yet, I decided to start one on Nino's bday. Happy Birthday, Nino!

Glad to hear someone else is excited about this new drama.
Arashi will be singing the theme song and it will be released as a single in August.

Blahx-chan I like Nino's singing and he did a decent job in Stand Up.... and was nominated for an award in Letters of Iwojima, so he's probably gotten pretty good ne?

i just read from other blogs that that the rate of its first episode was 17.4%!! The highest rating so far from the dramas that have opened in this season. nino and sho omedatou! so proud of you..ganbatte on the next 9 episodes

I just finished ep 1. It is so funny. I think it might be better than Hana Kimi.
I didn't expect it to be a comedy-based drama. It is more about friendship and family than romance kinda like nobuta wo produce I'm guessing.
I adore Nino's siblings. They are all so cute. Great chemistry between Nino and his siblings.
The toilet paper scene in ep1 was HILARIOUS!! I can't believe he stole toilet paper.
The mother at the supermarket was so scary/ugly looking, but she was funny too.
This series is such crack (in a good way).

I noticed that some of the actors acted with Jun before. Their homeroom teacher was Jun's girlfriend in Bambino. Their principal was in Gokusen as the gang leader/grandfather of Yankumi. Arashi connections.

Happiness is also an okay theme song.

YTM is going for the comic relief route I think. Nino himself said that the dorama is a comedy! So there is bound to have loads of humour. I was laughing alot!! So, in that sense, it can't be compared with Hanakimi, since Hanakimi is more of a romance dorama.

true hanakimi is more in the romantic category, but compared to other dramas this season I think taro is underrated whereas hana kimi is overrated. I was really looking forward to hana kimi this season and was only going to watch taro for arashi. but I think ytm is the best drama in general this season SO FAR. I'm the thread starter for both, so I'm happy both are doing so well.

XD I'm not sure about the under- and overrated thing, maybe because in actual fact, I see more promotional clips and posters etc for YTM. Maybe it's because of the community I am in. XD Love both though! haha!! But there were baseless reviews that Nino's too short for Yamada Taro's role ne? It may be true, but he has got the acting chops to put it off.

Plus all the cosplaying! <3 I can just imagine Sho gawking at Nino Tamiko and the two of them going- "Nino, you are cute." "Don't fall in love with me." "I like you." <3 Such love haha!!!

I love the series so far...but I prefer the cosplay take in the manga it seem funnier...because nino is kinny and so cute so he could pass off as a girl but taro in manga is tall and build like a guy....so he seems awkwardly bulky...but it add more humor...nevertheless the series is really growing on me...

agree. those who doubted nino would be eating their words. he is a great actor. i'm definitely suprised by how good of an actor he is because I haven't seen him in any other dramas/movies. even though i have heard of his acting abilities, i'm shocked by his charisma.

i download the episodes and watch them with stormy team subs. as far as i know they are the only ones doing english subs, and they do not allow posting of their subs on streaming sites or anywhere outside their site.

blah I find it funny that every fan of any drama compares their drama to Hana Kimi

Hey! Yamada Tarou of Nino and Sho! It sounds interesting!!

Different story and aura from taiwan version. I sympaty Taro here (Jpn vers).
We can feel his love for his family. Hhh.. I want to have a brother like him.
and we know how he meets Mimura-kun for the first time.
It's like, i know why everybody loves Taro here!

this version of yamada taro is so heart warming n touching..i almost cry in every episodes..especially in the most recent one (ep 9). this is a really good drama..i really look forward to the 10th ep..the taiwan version is more like a comedy..n this one less like a comedy n have more "dramas" in it.. nino really rocks..! i love his acting ..sho does a pretty good job as well ^^

i watched the clip ohno kun guest stars in, and i wish he appeared longer

this is really a fun series to watch. love both nino and sho in it...they are both so kawaii!!! already finished episode episode 8, and waiting for a direct dl for episode 9. im kinda sad though coz it's alread finished. gonna miss nino and sho and of course the yamada kids.

anyway .. this drama is serously superb nice..

I must say this version is much better than the taiwan version...but its still far from being a drama in my fav list. I seriously didn't like the leading girl...she was just annoying me and it might have been her that made me not like this drama so much or maybe the drama just isn't solid enough for me. I dunno but I think this was a rather disappointing drama for me.

I remember watching the first episode and I laughed so much through it.
As yamada walked into the school, he was filled with those flower images surrounding him.
And the scenes were very funny. =D
