English Title:
Split Second/Fight For Every Moment

Cast:
Alex Fong
Patrick Tam
Moses Chan
Kevin Cheng
Yoyo Mung
Fiona Yuen
Miki Yeung

Filming: March 2004 --- ?

News --

TVB's thirty episode police drama "Fight for Every Moment" held its costume fitting yesterday and the stars will include Alex Fong, Patrick Tam, Moses Chan, Kevin Cheng, Yoyo Mung, Fiona Yuen and Miki Yeung from Cookies. The show is a collaboration with Thailand's Channel 3 and there will be some Thai cast members who will be arriving shortly in Hong Kong for their character screenings.

To mark the occasion, TVB production chief Catherine Tsang was on the scene to watch over the proceedings and in response to suggestions that the show was copying the American hit drama "24" that is currently showing on TVB Pearl, Catherine says: "It depends how you look at it. '24' is about an incident that happens over a day, but 'Fight' is about a story that covers a day an episode totalling a month, so there will be some differences." The male and female Thai cast members will be speaking Thai during filming and then their voices will be dubbed into Cantonese. The Hong Kong crew will be heading out to Thailand in June for a month on location. As for suggestions that TVB was cutting back on production costs, Catherine says: "The company is just using what it needs to use and not being wasteful. Some things need to be streamlined, but this show will be using a lot of cast members and there have been no cuts to the budget. (Will the location costs come to 3-4 million dollars?) More than that, but I don't have the exact figures."

The reporters noticed that Patrick Tam was wearing hearing aids in both ears and he reveals he is suffering from a hereditary disorder that his doctor is yet to be able to treat. Is it inconvenient for him? He says: "I can't go diving! Also I can't hear very low pitched sounds, so it is sometimes difficult to communicate, especially when there are a lot of people talking and joking. If you speak too quickly then I won't hear you, so I miss a lot of things." When asked when he found out about his condition, he says that he found that the sound of his girlfriend's voice was becoming quieter and quieter and sometimes he could barely hear her, so he realised he had a problem. As Patrick was rather reserved as a child and didn't play with other children so he didn't realise he had problems with his hearing. However, despite his condition, he says there is no problems at all. Patrick indicates he will be playing an undercover cop in the show who is both good and evil: "I have watched the American show '24' and it is very good. At the same time, the company approached me to do this show and it is like a wish come true."

In the show, Alex Fong plays a detective sergeant and has a daughter who is played by Miki from Cookies. Although Alex has played father figures in the past, this is the first time he has had a teenage daughter and he jokes that there may be rumours spread between him and his 'daughter'. Alex says: "I am only 35 years old and in my last show, my girlfriend was only around 18 or 19 years old. Now I have an 18, 19 year old daughter I am a little hurt, she seems more like my little sister. (Have you opposed this arrangement?) It doesn't matter, it's just acting. If I had married early, then I could have had a daughter this old."

The story tells of Alex divorcing from his wife and having a one night stand with Yoyo Mung. He jokes: "I have worked with Yoyo many times and each time she is either my wife or my girlfriend. She is talented and beautiful, her figure is another matter though, after all which big-breasted women possess great talent?" When Yoyo heard this dig at her figure, she immediately retorted: "He likes little girls now, he thinks I am too big (old)." To this Alex replied with a double-edged response: "How would I think you are big? You are not big at all!" Yoyo was left speechless and could only laugh and hit him.

As for Miki, she says that she is quite nervous about filming for the first time, especially as her co-stars are all so experiences, but she will be asking Stephy and Theresa as well as her 'dad' Alex for advice."

Kevin Cheng Ka Wing and Mandy Lee Cho (Cho Man Lei) two days ago began work on their new TVB series JUNG FUN DUET MIU (FIGHT FOR MINUTES AND SECONDS). Although she has worked on music specials she is still new. Mandy due to a variety of environmental factors and her own interpretation had many bad takes. She appreciated the director and Cheng Ka Wing's patient instructions.

Alex Fong Chung Shun and Yoyo Mung Ka Wai yesterday worked on their new TVB series JUNG FUN DUET MIU (FIGHT FOR SECONDS AND MINUTES). Onscreen they are supposed to be a loving couple, but before places they were trading verbal jabs. "I am very happy about working with Mung Ka Wai, but we can only be a couple onscreen. If I fall for her in real life I will suspect changes in my sexual orientation because I have always treated her like a tomboy. Thus she is the only female artist who can sit in my car all day without any rumor."

Alex Fong Chung Shun yesterday attended the TVB and Thailand's Channel 3 co-produced television series JUNG FUN DUET MIU (FIGHT FOR MINUTES AND SECONDS) press conference. The "Hong Kong Richard Gere" will work with the "Thailand Chow Yun Fat" Chat Chai Plangpanit, Siririta Jensen and Yoyo Mung Ka Wai.

TVB had a contract signing ceremony with Thailand's Channel 3 for their joint production "Fight for Every Moment" and the leading stars Alex Fong, Yoyo Mung, Mandy Cho together with Thai stars Chatchai Plangpanit and Sririta Jensen were also present. Dubbed "HK Richard Gere" Alex is challenged by the "Thai Chow Yun Fat" for the first time and even his good partner Yoyo is changing her affections!

Yoyo not only praises Chatchai for being handsome, she also asked the producer to increase their scenes together: "This is the first time I have met Chatchai and he really is good looking! (Who is more handsome, him or Alex?) If Alex wasn't as insulting then he would be more handsome! Actually I have learned some words in Thai, but they sound like expletives, for example 'light brown' is 'si-lum-dan', but hopefully I will learn some more authentic words from him." As for Chatchai, he said through his interpreter: "Thank you for your praises, I have filmed with Chow Yun Fat a long time ago, but this is the first time that I have filmed a HK TV series and I will be playing an undercover cop."

Losing out to Chatchai, Alex immediately changed the focus and praised Athena Chu's recent 'sticking out' style, saying: "Athena is solid and I admire her intentions, because this shows her professionalism as an artiste, but I daren't look at her!"

Claire Yiu appeared at a skincare product promotion and she reveals that in her new show, she will be playing a club mamasan and have a daughter with Patrick Tam who plays an undercover cop. She says that he role is very challenging and in order to understand it more, she would like to visit the night clubs to see what the real mamasans do, but she is yet to find someone to take her. When asked if she has asked Thomas Lam if he has been before, Claire laughs that of course her boyfriend will say he has never seen one. It looks like Claire will just have to watch some old shows for reference instead.

So based on the news...2 people will be undercover cops in this series...geez lately there's a lot of undercover in TVB...
- Benny as an undercover cop in Vigilante Force
- Jack Wu in Net Deception
- Nnadia as an undercover prostitute in 1 Beautiful Spear
and now 2 others in this series.

Afterwards, Mandy commented: "You have to take a lot of things into account when you are filming on location and as it is my first day I am not used to it yet. I am playing a forensic expert so a lot of the vocabulary is quite difficult and I would give myself six out of ten. Kevin and the director have been very good and patiently teaching me. Acting is still a very big challenge for me." Although Mandy is continuously causing NG's, Kevin does not mind at all as he says: "For a newcomer, she is okay! Everyone who is new will be nervous and I have been a rookie too, I remember the first time I faced the camera I was sweating so much. (Have you given her some tips?) The director will teach her, they don't need me."

PhantomGaL
I saw their filming some time last year.
Seems that the part with the Thailand actor's pretty hard because Alex has to know when to come in between the line since he doesn't understand the language, vice versa.
Either way, this series does have a bunch of good cast smile.gif
PinkieJosie
the cast seems okay..i want to see how alex acts..hhaha never saw him act before..only heard of his music..hmm i wanted lost in the chamber of love to come out after war n beauty..o well guess is gonna come out after dis series, hopefully...

It's Alex Fong Chung Sun, not Alex Fong Lik Sun.
NyC_Styl3z
I would like "Lost In The Chamber of Love" to release next after "War And Beauty"
over "Split Second"
blood
Well, at least this series SEEMS interesting unlike 'Shine on me'..Boring..School and Kids stuff..Stupid idea for a seies just like that Jessica nnd Kenix series where it revolves around Kids/family/esp Kids/Teenagers..Hate those series..Never watch them....
ricechen
I think this series has too many males to females. I dont know how great this series will be.
Theirry
ummm yea never heard any news about this? They should realse a action series after war and beauty. Grrr... These days tvb doesn't produce much cops series anymore i wonder why?
isyok9394
it should be interesting to watch the combo of thai and hong kong actors. just not that interested in seeing yoyo mung, but do want to see lai lok yi
cheung139
The male casts do interest me actually!!!
Moses Chan-Absolutely fanatastic so no comment

Alex Fong-He did a great job in Burning Flame 2 and I'm sure that he'll do the same thing in the series

Marco-Another good actor which is a supporting actor

As for Lai Lok Yee and Patrick, they should be more than enough to satisfy the audience (us)

To be honest, I hate watching Yoyo Mung in all her series. Ugly and talentless... Well, at least the supporting female casts are ok, Claire and Fiona but not sure about the others.
angeltvgirl416
I want to watch this series. But is Miki the only one from cookies in this?
bao bao
Ya, Miki is the only one.

I can't wait for this series, I truly think it's gona kick-arse. The cast is excellent, everyone is well sufficient and can hold their own and compliment everyone else well. A shortage of females, but I love the male cast. But I don't see Marco in the pictures nor the first post.. I'll be a bit sad-smiley-065.gif if he's not in it. The Thai actress is very pretty. smile.gif
Theirry
ummm does anyone know wut kind of series this is? action? drama?...
NyC_Styl3z

DanDanCar

Smurf
