TUTORIAL[Rounded Borders]

First off, there MUST be a image or ready made banner that you wanna make a round border for. Take it out, open it. ect. [btw my stock is really light, you can barely see the rounded borders =.= i know i am bad at making these too, so bare with me]
http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m287/xL...08uh9rj7xh3.jpg

Now first step is to go over the whole thing with your rectangular marquee tool and copy it:

First: Take out your picture and copy it:

Simple?

Now go

Second:
File>New>Transparent

You don't need to set size, because when you copy a image, it already has the size of the image you copied already.

Third:
Now go to your tools, and get out your round tool. And if you don't know how, right click on your mouse at the shape tool like my picture, and it'll show you you

Now go back to your new blank document and:

Fourth:
Pull the shape out to fill the blank transparent layer

Not hard right? Now for final

Fifth:
Go over to your layer panelette, if it's not out, go to the top:
Window>Layers

Now you see it right? It should show you all your layers.

Now go up top to:
Layer>New>Layer

Now go back to your Layer Panlette, place[NOT click] your mouse over between the new layer and your shape layer and press Alt until you see two circles overlaying, and click your mouse once. It should turn out like this:

With the arrow pointing down. See it? Now continue for finishing

Sixth:
You still have your picture copied, so now just go:
Edit>Paste

Viola your picture should turn out rounded onto the shape. You can difinitely try with other shapes too. Have fun

this is my finish

see it's rounded. For more intsructions, just ask. Or if you need help with a step just ask, I'll try to answer.

Mine involves the select inverse, and select modify, round, save as web. Haha it's pretty easy XD
Though; I want to do yours O_o I haven't heard of any type doing round borders like that XD

o0o nice tutorial~! happy.gif

but.. i do it a different way too.. O_O
I use the shape thing and then select inverse of the pics afterewards deleted and make sure it transparents and then save for web. to save as gif..which something ruins the quality.. O_O
but i will try yours, Mimi. happy.gif

Hey!

Thanks so much for this tut!! I have been wondering how to do this the "easier" way!! There is another one which is so so so difficult. I think you need to use the mask thingy. X.X

miasaurus.
Lolx I know how to do it with the other way too, the way most people do it =.= (I think) modify, smooth, 5 px. ect. lolx. But I guess this way you can make custom borders (shapes) too smile.gif Just change the rounded border step to any shape you want.
