I think she looks really pretty, although I have yet to watch any of her dramas, but so far I've only seen some positive reviews of her acting so i'm guessing she's pretty alright :] Will have to see for myself when 1 pound comes out!

Kuroki to co-star with Kamenashi in "One-Pound Gospel"

Rising actress Meisa Kuroki has been confirmed as the co-star in NTV's "One-Pound Gospel" drama series, which stars KAT-TUN's Kazuya Kamenashi.

Based on a comic by popular mangaka Rumiko Takahashi, the story revolves around a skilled young boxer (Kamenashi) who is unable to keep his weight down. He encounters Angela (Kuroki), a naive nun in training, and begins to fall for her as she helps him with his problem.

The series starts this January, airing on Saturdays at 9:00pm.

Kuroki Meisa is really gorgeous! I haven't watched any of her series or movies yet, but I will soon. Has One-Pound Gospel come out yet? I'm interested in watching it.

Kuroki Meisa is very pretty, I really like her in the hit movie Crows Zero with Shun-kun, if you have not seen that movie, then you really should, it's one of the best movies I've ever watched! And Meisa sang 2 songs for it, you get to watch her perform on stage in the movie I'm really looking forward to the sequel...although there was never any mention of Meisa being in it, but I have a gut feeling she is
I also like her in 1 Pound Gospel with Kame-chan.

And her latest news is that she'll be appearing in a drama special titled Danso no Reijin, Horikita Maki will also be in it...this is the 2nd time they've collaborated I think, I also heard they're very close friends in real-life.

^ I was just on her wiki today and YES!! she is returning in Crow Zero 2. I'm so happy.

if anyone haven't notice it yet and since the news was last year already, Meisa will star in her first lead role movie called, Subaru.


Meisa Kuroki to star in "Subaru"

Masahito Soda's ballet manga "Subaru" is being turned into a movie, led by Hong Kong director Chi-Ngai Lee and producer Bill Kong. The main cast was announced at a press conference in Shanghai, revealing that actress Meisa Kuroki has been given the starring role.

The manga tells the story of Subaru Miyamoto (Kuroki), whose twin brother Kazuma suffers from a brain tumor at an early age. Through her visits to the hospital, she meets a small theater manager, Rei (Kaori Momoi), who trains her to become a ballerina.

Kuroki had been trained in dance before, but not ballet. Since June, she has been taking three-hour ballet lessons almost every day. Momoi, on the other hand, studied at the Royal Ballet School in England for three years when she was a child.

Supporting cast members include Miku Sano, Ara, and Yuta Hiraoka.

Filming started on September 11 in Tokyo and moved to Shanghai on October 28. A simultaneous theatrical release in Japan and other major Asian countries is scheduled for 2009.

Young actress Maki Horikita will star in a two-part drama special on Fuji TV titled "Chance! Kanojo ga Seikou Shita Riyuu," described as a comical success story. The show will also feature Hitori Gekidan and Meisa Kuroki.

Horikita plays a 22-year-old who struggles to find a job, finally landing one at a travel company. Kuroki plays a career woman at the same firm who happens to have the same last name. One day, they mistakenly take each other's cell phones, and as a result, Horikita's character ends up having to give a critical presentation. This becomes her "chance" at success.

Fuji TV will broadcast the drama at 11:10pm on March 7 and March 14.

Meisa Kuroki's first album dated for April [17/2/09]:

Actress Meisa Kuroki will have her debut album as a singer released on April 8. Titled "hellcat," it is her first CD release, though she already made her singing debut last June with the digital single "Like This."

The album is produced by Jeff Miyahara, who has worked with award-winning artists such as Boyz II Men in the past. All 8 songs are said to be dance tunes, as Kuroki has been a fan of Janet Jackson since she was a child. Kuroki herself had a hand in composing three of the songs: "Criminal," "SEX," and "lost."

The first press edition of the album will come with a DVD with three music videos, including a sexy video for "Bad Girl," which is being used as an insert song in the upcoming movie "Crows ZERO II" (in theaters April 11). "Bad Girl" is already being made available as a ringtone starting on the 17th.

In addition, there is an unrecorded song that is being planned for release as a single. Kuroki has also expressed her desire to do a live concert.

Meisa Kuroki plays female Oda Nobunaga [19/2/09]:

Actress Meisa Kuroki has been chosen to star in the play "Onna Nobunaga," based on the book of the same name by Naoki Prize-winning author Kenichi Sato. The story, set during the Sengoku period, is based on the premise that Oda Nobunaga was actually female. Kuroki will of course play the role of Nobunaga.

Kuroki will be supported by singer and musical actor Akinori Nakagawa, playing the role of the samurai Akechi Mitsuhide. Nakagawa is a rising talent in the world of stage musicals, having earned multiple awards since starring in "Mozart!" in 2002.

"Onna Nobunaga" will be performed at Tokyo's Aoyama Theatre on June 5-21, followed by shows in Osaka at Theater BRAVA! on June 26-28.

this girl looks too matured for her age. she even fooled me that she is with the same age bracket as aoi miyazaki and tamaki hiroshi when she was casted along with them in 'tada, kimi wo aishiteru'. she was 19 then, i think. most of the cast of the movie were in their early to mid-20s. but i liked her since then, she's a good actress and really, really pretty. also i wish her good luck with her new album although i wish she could sing songs with sweet melody. i think it would suit her best instead of being a sexy performer.
