wow....this is a really nicely done thread! I love the first opening page. that's a GREAT picture of will, too.

i've just started getting to know more about him....but i've always liked his music and his personality as i've seen it in variety shows. i think one of my favorites is the one where he is on this one show and they call up ella. he keeps asking ella if him being skinny will help him get popular or if being chubby will make him popular. and ella can tell something is up, but entertains the conversation. will looks like a little boy in it when he smiles. and he's so mischievous. it totally cracks me up...

I'm surprised there isn't as much activity on here since Miss No Good is starting to do so well. and that his cd just came out a few weeks ago. I really think Will is doing a great job in his acting on MNG. I know he doesn't think he did that well, but seriously, when i watch it, i am watching how his smallest movements bring his character to life. I think he's an often overlooked star!

Firstly, I have to thank everyone for supporting 不良笑花 [Bu Liang Xiao Hua] [Miss No Good (The Bad Campus Belle)]. The ratings are getting better and better; right now, we're sitting at Number 2 and looking at Number 1! The night of the typhoon, we were actually able to achieve the highest rating (segment)! Really very happy!

A television station has recently been re-broadcasting 麻辣鮮師 [Ma La Xian Shi] [Spicy Teacher]. Occasionally, I'll be flipping through the channels and see it. Watching myself, I really feel that I didn't act well enough back then... although I wouldn't say that I act excellently now, either, I still feel like I've improved a lot... in comparison to before!

This Sunday night, I also sat in front of the TV and watched 不良笑花 [Bu Liang Xiao Hua] [Miss No Good (The Bad Campus Belle)]. I discovered that there were a number of scenes and places in which I didn't act so well. I thought to myself, WHY did I act that way? What was I thinking at the time?! I thought it was pretty bad, pretty disappointing... it could have been a lot better.

I hope that, in the future, my acting can improve... better and better!!

New Wilber fan here

I've heard of Wilber in the U.S. before, I've actually seen him somwhere-- I'm 100% sure! I just can't recall where, and for some odd reason, it feels like I've met this guy in person, too. So I've been creeped out about Wilber for a while, just inside my head. But to me, he's super talented.

I got into him from watching Miss No Good 不良笑花 and I seriously, seriously, don't know what else I would do for watching that drama. I'm not such a huge Rainie and Dean fan, which is why I wasn't going to watch the drama in the first place. But after recommendations from friends, I decided to give it a try. The first thing that caught my eye? As tammiest refers to him as, Pan Shuaiiii~!

Is this Wilber's first time as a main role? He's very, very attractive here.. I certainly think that his acting as a first timer is You can hardly find an actor who is so natural in his first leading role. Will's acting requires a lot of NGs, but I think he's slowly improving. Haha, I was watching one of the BTS for BLXH, the one where he and Rainie were filming the eating scene. He kept eating and eating, I was already like :shocked LOL!

And btw, I love Wilber's blog.. styled very nicely! And do tell him about AF!!

yay! tammiest... i'm glad you'll watch the video...it's a pretty simple one, but it really made me laugh a lot. i originally found it because i think ella is great, but afterwards i was so impressed by will's affable personality, i started looking into more of his stuff...which then led me to watching his mv's which led me to his music, which is what i really like. it's such a different style than say leehom (who is my number one fav)...i think of all the taiwan singers i've heard rap, will is my favorite. it sounds so good with his lower raspier voice.

wilber has such a outgoing personality. he tells great stories too. for example....
have you guys watched the show where he talked about his childhood friend that made Will eat his boogers? he's so funny. if he had his own hosting show, i think i'd watch it. lol. i can't tell if it's in this segment...but either way, this was another video that really helped me appreciate will. i like how comfortable he is in front of the camera and joking with the host. he smiles so freely and has so much personality. he seems really confident and cool but not cocky, but still friendly (the only thing with this video is....the sound in this doesn't follow the actions very well...as long as you can understand chinese, it doesn't really matter since they're all just standing around chatting. )

Do you need help translating any of his songs? As long as i have the lyrics, i can usually work through the translations. I'm wanting to continue to improve my reading skills. there's nothing that helps me with that more than translating.

Yeah, "Will's Future." that's the one i mean....i have "Play it Cool" and i really liked it, but i really like having all his top songs. i'm glad they added Summer Craze to it...i haven't watch the mv's on it yet (yup, i JUST got it) but watched the making of the video from his blog... i'm impressed that he wrote or co-wrote so many of his own songs. i think i have a real appreciation for the people in the taiwan entertainment industry that compose their own music. it feels more "artistic" and authentic instead of them just singing what other people want them to sing. i like feeling like i'm getting a flavor for the real person. it brings more enjoyment to the music for me.

hmmm, as for him being familiar looking...you know, when i first saw will i thought the same thing, too! for me, i'm actually from california where he went to college and he's just about my age so i think it's actually highly likely that someone i know knew him. ...that would be pretty funny if we had mutual friends or i really have seen him. maybe that's what happened to you!

Yes! This is the first time I've ever seen Will act as a lead before. He's done supporting roles, but this is his first time being the leading man. I don't think he's been in anything even as a supporting actor, for years now...he was mostly doing music. I think in one of the BTS for BLXH, he talked about how he was nervous because he wanted to do a good job since it's been so long since his last acting jig. i can't remember which one it is though...mmm...the one after honey and clover? i can't remember.... i hope people continue to watch and aren't too turned off by Rainie's character though. as of episode 5 she's starting to get a lot better. she's less squeaky and loud and her fashion sense grows on you. i really miss the curly hair, but for those who are bothered by it, it's gone now. it's really fun watching the two of them act together because i feel like they have great chemistry onscreen. i like that will and rainie are friends in real life because there is a comfort in their interactions that carries over into their characters too. seems like he has great relationships with people in the entertainment circle.

I love watching him act too because i feel like when we just get to hear him sing, we don't get to see him for as long. poof! just 4 minutes and it's done. to be honest, rainie and will scenes are my favorite. i can always picture will ng-ing and how much fun it must be for them to be filming these scenes. it makes me so happy.

i wonder if wilber will start to get more popular in Taiwan after this? hope so. he's great entertainer, i feel like.

I think when you see a personality like Wilber's, it's too hard to dislike him. He's such an eater, and so muscular! Certainly, he and Rainie do get along which is good, it's always nice to see co-stars speaking highly of each other. I'm sure he has good relations with S.H.E, Jay, and all the others.

His job as a first leading role is certainly attractive and impressive. I loved the scene where he was acting out the part for catching JiNuo as a cheater.. he certainly did show some real "anger" there. And haha, when he was acting in his acting (when XiaoHua's father wanted to be a "cameraman"), that even felt so real. I wonder if he mistook it as the actual filming, or just the fake one


Hey, jumabean! I know, there's almost not a single bad comment about Wilber. Although, I'm sure, there are some rather MINOR things to criticize But those aren't big. Of course, there's tiny details in his acting that can be improved, and his singing can do with some more energy, but it's already considered GREATT in the TW Ent circle!

Yup, this is Wilber's first main role. The last time he TRULY acted was like... six years ago. In Spicy Teacher... I've seen some footage for that. He's actually a natural, I think! Even if it DOES take him many NG's to get there!

And SERIOUSLY, I loveee the way he eats. It's adorable. He went on YLBFB a few months ago and said that his TALENT was EATING o_O Hahaha... sooo funny. Must scrounge up videos on YouTube, take screencaps, and gush. *makes mental note*

I watched this last night. I love Wilber's smile! It's so adorable and mischievous... and yet... slightly bashful as well. Awww, I wonder who he called BEFORE calling Ella! Who would ignore a call from Pan Shuai!!
(And Ella is really "pei he," too... very sweet of her. Haha... and she totally KNEW it was WQYL! But I guess it's because they're the only variety show that still does those prank phone calls (well, other than MAYBE Tian Cai Chong).)


Hmm, I think I heard Bu De Bu Ai first... and was like *meh* (although now the song has grown on me a lot). And I didn't pay much attention to him until I heard Fan Zhuan Di Qiu... his rapping skills were great! So yup, guess we were kind of attracted by the same thing. Then, I started watching some more videos of him, and I was attracted to his personality. He's so sweet! and funny.

(BTW, I also watched the "booger" video. What the?! Hhahaa, Wilber's so funny. One very funny part was when Blackie was like, "If your parents are watching this show, they're probably like... Yeah, Wilber has begun composing more of his stuff recently... and those singles have been really doing well. I'm glad that he's shifted direction, too... one of the things that ANNOYS me the most is the way that SO MANY people criticize Wilber for doing covers. They go so far as to accuse him of plagiarism-- but it WASN'T that at all. It was all legal, bought and paid for, credited, etc. *shakes head*

The ratings for Wilber's 不良笑花 [Bu Liang Xiao Hua] [Miss No Good (The Bad Campus Belle)] are quite good; as a result, Will's nickname of "潘帥 Pan Shuai (Handsome Pan)" has gone out of fashion; "唐門 Tang Men" (the name of his character in BLXH) has now taken the throne. Additionally, because Wilber's character is a fashion stylist, he has also become recognized as a new "fashion icon" and "expert": invitations for spokesmodeling and runway shows have been pouring in. The most "over" thing that has happened? Some fans have actually called Wilber's agency in hopes of inviting him to style them for their school dance!

Unfortunately, however, the diamond stud which has been a staple of Wilber's style and image for years, was lost a few days ago in Malaysia. He noticed it was missing after giving an interview; he said, regret tinging his voice, "I really loved that earring. It really makes me want to wring my wrist; I'm really upset... I've worn it for over five years; it's like a part of my body." Although the original price of the earring, which he purchased in New York, only amounts to somewhere between $2000 and $3000 NTD (less than $100 US), he still admitted, "After losing it, I felt weird all over."

The fact that Wilber can be recognized as a "fashion icon" has something to do with the tremendous effort he's put into losing weight. where abouts in cali are you from? i wouldn't be surprised if you saw him in l.a. because that's close to where he went to school. i feel like he'd be someone that if i saw, would be super approachable... don't you think?
he does have a very distinct look. the jaw line... the lips....you don't see that that often with taiwanese actors i feel like. I don't know anyone that looks like him, and yet... there's something so familiar looking about him...

I love that scene in the BTS, too! I was laughing so much! he just kept eating and eating....two bowls of prop food and then the kabobs! it was so funny! lol. I can't imagine anyone not liking him, either..... he really does have a great personality and when he smiles and jokes you can't help but feel the corners of your mouth raising up, too. it's contagious. i love that they let us watch the BTS because that's when you really get to see the real Wilber....

i'm really impressed with his acting too because the Tang Men character is so different than his own personality, but he's doing it so convincingly. i want to see what he'd be like doing a more emotional role....

One of my favorite scenes is actually the one where Dean kisses Rainie and he glances at them...but you can see the shock, discomfort and then the effort to not care all flash before his eyes.... sooooo subtle! i love it!

Actually, Bu De Bu Ai isn't one of my favorites... i don't like the female voice very much... but the more i listen to it, the more i like it. i think two of my favorites are Bai Ri Meng (Daydream) and Shuo Ni Ai Wo (Say You Love Me)...


I wonder why there are so many haters out there. sigh. i'm glad to know that when he does cover songs, he gives credit to the original source. he changes them around a bit and always adds his own touch to them.
i think i actually like all his own stuff better than the stuff other people write for him, actually. i didn't even know that he was the one that wrote them, just that when i heard them, i was drawn to the music... and then when i looked at the cd pamphlet, i realized that it was HIM who wrote it! i love knowing that the reason i'm drawn to his music is because of his talent, not just because of his looks (although it's not because i don't like his looks) -- it just speaks to his talent!

I've noticed that he likes to do "repeat" words Like... Shuo Ni Ai Wo, Wu Fa Kang Ju, and Xia Ri Feng... all have like lots of "Oh Oh's" and "Ai Ai's." It's fun, haha... and easy to remember. I even find my mom humming his songs around the house sometimes.

Ever since 不良笑花 [Bu Liang Xiao Hua] [Miss No Good (The Bad Campus Belle) began airing... recently, walking down the street, nobody calls me Pan WeiBo any more. Instead, everybody calls me 唐大哥 Tang "Da Ge" ("Big Brother" Tang), 唐先生 Tang "Xian Sheng" (Mr. Tang), 唐門 Tang Men, 唐阿門 TangAhMen, haha...

Can it be that the name "Pan WeiBo" will retire from the entertainment circle? It's just like it was back in the days of 麻辣鮮師 [Ma La Xian Shi] [Spicy Teacher]... everybody would call me Money! And now, everybody calls me Tang Men. I guess this counts as the fourth name I've been given since my debut? From Money... to Pan WeiBo... to Pan Shuai... and now, Tang Men or TangAhMen. When you guys see me, you can also call me Tang Men or TangAhMen... feels particularly warm and "intimate" ouu!

Thats great news meaning his new series has caught many ppl's attention.
This is actually the first time ive seen him in a series, and his acting is pretty real. The exaggerated scenes are funny and he has convinced me how mean Tang Men.. almost forgot wat Wilber is actually like. Great work from him.

Ohh and so true abt the catchiness of his songs. shuo ni ai wo, the 'ai, ai ai' makes it really nice. Even though there is alot of repetition for that one word but it sounds really nice.
Practically his whole last album sounded nice.

And its odd, i actually liked 'bu de bu ai' cause the girl's voice is soo high and so it makes it really difficult to imitate. But once i saw another pair performing this song on 100% ent, and i reckon her voice is even better than the original singer.

And his love for food reminds me of wu zun. Them two both love food and never stop eating. It was sooo funny watching the bts of "bu liang xiao hua" and wilber is just there eating.. it actually made me hungry.

Looking forward to his nxt album and next series.. which i wonder wat he would play.
Sometime just popped into my mind....him playing an investigator or something. That'll be cool. Like those crime shows. I think TW series are increasingly making these types of series.

The name Pan WeiBo will never retire from the entertainment circle! Wait, Wilber was the guy that played MONEY? Then I saw him there too, when it was reairing in Taiwan. Apparently Wilber seems to like his character's names better than his real name Oh well, when I see him, he's always going to be Little Wilber.


He is a natural! It's hard to find such a natural actor nowadays in the entertainment circle.. now, everybody is just "Trained" and "Forced" to become actors/actresses. Wilber will never be as mean as TangMen, though TangMen is just for me! Haha, too mean. and evil.

^ those two and Wilber are like THE three male artists i heart. i mean...that doesn't exclude others but i heart them the most.
wilber is amazing. yeah there's like no bad news about him...which is surprising. i don't think i can think of any other taiwanese celeb who didn't get bashed by the crazy media. k let me think here

Haha, tammiest, I saw your post on his blog. It's very sweet
I realized Wilber's blog is updated frequently. I hope he updates it soon again, hopefully with news about his reaction towards all the fans' wonderful, sweet comments. I was reading the comments, everybody was just such sweethearts to him. No haters who go there to deliberately put him down-- I LOVE IT!

I finished watching Episode 6 of Bu Liang Xiao Hua (不良笑花) yesterday. I loved all his facial expressions, especially when he was biting Rainie's hand. TangMen sure is a character, and Wilber definitely did make TangMen a character that had an effect that was supposed to be given.

His English is ridiculously good, too. I was listening to him translating XiaoHua's Chinese comments. It sounds just like a typical American boy. And his Chinese is flawless, too.

Hello to Originale, jumabean, Chem Master, Tammiest! Thanks for being so warm in welcoming us newcomers to this thread! As for Sweetz, hi!!!!!!!! it's nice seeing you here, too! hahah. we must have similar tastes in dramas and stars! (Jumabean...i agree with you about two of the stars you heart, too...especially the one you're a neighbor too..he's my first fav...and then will...)

I didn't actually expect that Wilbur would be a good actor, but like Originale wrote, I almost forgot what the real Pan WeiBo was like! It's only those few moments when he smiles, that I can recall what a naturally sunny disposition he has! That's a testament to his acting!

I don't know if you guys watched episode 6 when Tang Men was carrying Xiao Hua, but I laughed so hard when she was petting his face because she was dreaming about a cute puppy...I LOVED how he kept trying to avoid her pats and smacks in the face and ESPECIALLY when he bit her hand! haha!

Another favorite moment was when he paused when she asked him if he liked her. I could feel the inner battle inside as he was trying to process how to answer. of course she meant...that she always thought he was annoyed and hated her and has that feeling gone away, but because there's this subconscious liking going on for him, the question no longer seemed so innocent...it became another moment where he had to wrestle with what he was really feeling. i know he doesn't yet realize that he as well is falling for her, but i love watching this process happen! Will is such fun to watch. he does these subtleties well but his comic timing is also great! His rants....his antics....even though there were MANY NG's before he could get it right, the jokes all hit at the perfect moment. i look forward to watching episode 7 to see how Will takes on more emotional moments like the ones i know he will have with his family....

I'm actually really glad he's composing more of his own stuff too. to be honest, his cover songs aren't my favorite....i didn't even KNOW at the time, but i realized that some of my favorite songs of his are the ones that he wrote himself anyway. so i guess i really do love his talent. i love how his style is so different than the usual chinese music. i like the ballads and all but honestly, my favorite is when he raps....i can listen to it all day long.... it sounds so good to me because i seriously love his voice. *blush*

as for "Bu De Bu Ai".... The song really has grown on me....but whenever i really want to listen to it, i scrounge up the version on You Tube of Hebe and Will singing it. Her voice is high too, but not quite as much. It's one of those songs that after a while.... you can't really get out of your head.... Has that one been translated already?

I'll start working on a few of my favorites....Probably like "Bai Ri Meng" first....I'll go through the Will's Future album and pick my favorites. I won't duplicate any of the ones you've already done... i'll just post them on here as i finish them... i hope they'll be okay.


I love hearing him speak English because although it's American english, he sort of has a twang to it, maybe more like the southern states.... maybe that's from being from West Virginia? Although, what i don't get is... he went to school in Taiwan....why should he have a southern accent? lol. Have you watched that clip of him teaching Show Luo (Xiao Zhu) english? His english is very very clear there... well, whatever the case may be... i really enjoy hearing him speak english...

And as for his BTS.... i totally agree... i love watching them mostly because it shows so much of his personality. in the series, he doesn't smile a lot, but in the BTS, he is always smiling -- i think he has a beautiful smile. and not only that, you see how playful he is and, i think you chose the perfect word, Sweetz, "cheeky." His cheeky side definately comes out.

Bai Tuo! No other artist updates their blog like Will does, haha and I LOVE it, because then, we're able to comprehend what he's thinking, how he's feeling, and of course, make nice comments to cheer him up I absolutely love all his blog entries, too, they're fairly insightful. I'm happy his English is so fluent and Americanized. My English is very Americanized, but if I happen to be tongue-tied when I meet him, there's a huge problem and I swear that's probably what's going to happen.

His BLXH scene for English is amazing, though. NO other Taiwanese artist has scraped English like he has. And his Chinese is so , so he's capable of speaking in dramas and to his Chinese-speaking fans. Then, his Taiwanese (Hokkien) will allow him to speak with my grandparents Haha!!

I just finished watching this week's episode of BLXH... episode 7...

i was very happy with Will's performance from this week's episode of BLXH. I felt like his emotional scenes were really natural. I'm glad they didn't have him bawl or something. You could tell that TM is not someone who cries or has a lot of emotions....he's an internal processor and probably not too in tune with his feelings.

i loved the scenes when he was thinking about XH and all the moments from when he'd met her until the present. he does such a great side smile.... those ones that you can tell he's thinking, 'what a dork she is, but you gotta love her.' i love watching that montage of him thinking over XH because we get to see his facial reactions to every scene and it brings so much more depth and understanding to his emotional development with regards to XH. You can really get a sense that he's falling for her. Will did such a great job this week. I was worried that he wouldn't be able to handle the more emotional scene and that it would feel forced. i don't know if he can do some serious serious dramatic moments yet....still waiting, but I was still super impressed with how natural it seemed. it felt like that would be the way he would look in real life if dealing with feelings. I especially like the moment when he's in the car and he pinches his eyes near his nose as if to try to clear his headache/thoughts or brush away the tears.

i love that this week, they gave so much attention to developing will's character -- even aside from the romantic development. it explained so much as to why the tang men character is such a prick sometimes. man....his dad is a piece of work. the problem is.. i can imagine a lot of asian parents being like that. "what i say is the law. this is my house. my rules. if you don't like it, get out." i doubt wilber's parents are like that. it really seems like will loves his parents, especially his mom, huh?

okay... now i have to say once again....wilbur has one of the BEST smiles ever. everytime they let him smile....his face seriously shines. i don't necessarily think he's the SHUAI-est of guys in the industry (in that he's not a pretty boy), but there's something about the way he is when he smiles that makes you feel like he sun has just come out....and makes you want to smile with him. when he laughs or smiles, there's something that makes you want to keep staring and keep watching and wishing it would happen again. thank goodness the real Will smiles a lot. these are the types of guys i think i like the most... the ones that on the first look, are attractive but maybe not the "LOOK at me!" types but there's so much personality and charisma that you can't help but be attracted to them.

I was watching some of the "must watch" video clips posted on here (the talent one from YLBFB, especially part 1) and I am always amazed at how natural Will is in front of the camera...how when he smiles it makes you want to smile and laugh too. and when he tells a story, you find yourself wanting to engage in the story. but it never feels like he overtalks the host. but at the same time, it feels like he doesn't just stand there and wait for them to ask him questions. you can tell he's a very outgoing person. he stands there and makes great conversation. i really enjoy watching him on those shows.... he's one of the few people that not only does he not bore me, but it's through those entertainment shows that I was able to really start liking him. that's a great testament to his charisma.....
as for that video...i love the chemistry that he has with Xiao Zhu. It's such a crack up. I love how Will tells stories and jokes so comfortably....he's talking about how the reporters often call actors and singers in the entertainment industry trying to get them to say something incriminating. lol. when Will makes a joke about how the reporter asked him his thoughts on America going to war with iraq (6:31 on the video) his expression is so priceless! hahah! i wish i knew how to do a screen cap...i'd love to show you all!



I totally feel the same way! I think there's something about them that makes you feel like you could really connect with them somehow. i think the fact that he speaks clear, un-chinese inflected english makes him seem so much cooler in my mind. so NOT fobby. so NOT a wannabe.
I thought the exact same thing when i was watching BLXH. Just the other day, I was trying to explain to my friends that even his movements feel very American. The scowls, the scoffs, the way he greets people, the way he stands even. i think because of that, there's something so familiar with him. i guess that's what i meant when i commented on his accent....i know he did a lot of his growing up in Taiwan. even though he went to an english speaking school...there's so much about him that makes him seem like he grew up in the states....

That's why I tend to like artists that can speak English well in Asian. As much as I can speak Chinese, I prefer English much more. Wilber is just <3 when it comes to English. His English is practically flawless, it's amazing.

I think Will really interpreted TangMen at a very professional level. He managed to analyze the character (although he might not be aware of it, I'm so sure his big brain processed it somehow) and properly present the character. To me, that is a skill. It's a skill that not many people have.

I watched the clip of Will in "Spicy Teacher." He was SUCH a cutie back then....wow, that was 7 years ago! he was only 21 at the time! crazy.

have any of you watched the actual drama? is it any good? how big of a role does will have? is there a clear version anywhere? the one on youtube is pretty fuzzy....and my chinese isn't good enough to surf tudou yet.

OMGoodness, I can't reply to everyone But I really have read everybody's posts! Agree with all of you about his "cheekiness" and his "sunshine smile." Whenever I watch him on TV, I just get this dumb smile on my face... his smile is too infectious! Plus, he's hilarious.

Spicy Teacher is actually a five-season drama. Will's got one of the main parts in Season 2. (Season 1 starred people like Jerry Yan, Ken Chu, Penny Lin, etc. (among many others)... and is, subsequently, the most famous. It's my personal opinion, however, that the cast of the second season OVERALL do a better job acting.)

Anyway, it's REALLY hard to find any footage from Season 2 on-line. I don't think they really ever sold it-- except maybe once, a long, long time ago. It sucks because... if they came out with the DVD set, I would totally buy it.

Here's the first episode of Season 2, though. Will's got a big part in this episode... I watched it myself a couple of weeks ago. He's nowhere near Tang Men level, but it's definitely not bad for his VERY FIRST attempt at acting

Wilber said on a recent interview show that, the day after this episode aired, he was out for a taping (of one of his Channel V shows). Before that day, nobody had ever stopped him or recognized him on the streets before... that day, though, about 60 people stormed him at once. He was totally shocked!

Okay, I've got a new must-watch interview for you guys. Wilber went on 魯豫有約 [Lu Yu You Yue] [A Date With Lu Yu] last week. (The article I've pasted below actually describes some parts of the program... but then, some parts weren't discussed? So I wonder whether or not there's another program... ) Anyway, 魯豫 Lu Yu kind of annoys me-- I'd never seen her before-- she's not a very good interviewer, and, when Wilber said that a pregnancy is 9 months, she corrected him and said it's 10 (it's the Chinese way to count you as 1 month right as you're "conceived" )... Wilber totally just made a joke about himself. But then, she had to keep bringing it up and bringing it up, making fun of him! I wanted to smack her for being so unscientific AND condescending to our Wilber.

But anyways... there's SOOO much stuff in this interview. Like, so much. I added some of the main points to the first post of our thread, and I'll elaborate on those points here, but it's really NOT everything... I haven't added the stuff about his ex-girlfriend to the first post yet ) Anyway, I highly recommend watching:

1. Wilber naturally has slightly curly hair!
They showed that really ugly picture of Wilber that has been circulating on the Internet... the one that people use as "evidence" that he's gotten plastic surgery.



He basically says that that was when the "mushroom head" was REALLY popular in America (um, are suki and I the only ones old enough to remember that craze? Haha, he was telling the truth), but he has naturally curly hair, so the hairstyle looked THAT way on him

Anyways, I strongly believe that he DID NOT have plastic surgery. In a lot of the video footage they showed of him SANS that haircut, even during high school, he looks very similar to the Wilber of today. I should take screencaps. >_< Maybe later.

2. As I'm sure you've noticed, Wilber LOVES to talk. But did you know that, as a child, he most likely had a mild form of ADD? In fact, the very first phrase of English he learned at school was "Wilber, sit down!" He had spent the entire day running around the classroom!

3. Wilber is EXTREMELY filial. Just as an example, the very FIRST thing he did after he got his cut from his very first album was to pay for his little brother's college tuition.

4. Wilber's father is a well-loved professor. People who aren't even in his classes will sit in on his lectures-- and not because of Will, either! Nevertheless, Wilber's dad is known to give out autographed photos of Wilber as a "reward" for scoring a 100% (sometimes 95% and above) on a test.

5. Wilber snapped one of the ligaments in his leg at a concert in Beijing (十全十美 Perfect In Every Way) in 2004. The doctor actually suggested that he never dance again! But our Will's WILL was strong... and he went diligently through his rehabilitation exercises daily, gritting his teeth against the pain.

Anyway, briefly, on the subject of his love life... Wilber once had a very serious girlfriend... I think he said they started dating in high school, and they were together through college. Except he went to America, and she was in Japan? He once considered marrying her (before he realized that he didn't have the means to take care of her-- no job, no money, etc.)... but it was hard to keep it up long-distance. And then he was going to make his debut into the entertainment circle... and he had to tell her that they couldn't walk on the streets together, holding hands, any more. And she started to cry... so then, he decided that it was better to let her go and allow her to enjoy "love" and youth... than to hold on and make her suffer. :\

They still kept in touch, though, and they always e-mailed or phoned each other on their "anniversary." But then, two years ago, when they were on the phone, he said jokingly, "You're not going to tell me that you're going to get married, are you? Haha." But then... she was silent. Because it was true. And Wilber was like, "Does he have a job? Can he take care of and support you?" And she said that he could... so Wilber wished them well. His ex-girlfriend kept crying, and he was also really upset. He was really upset for days... ate a lot to feel better. He even ate 20 pieces of chicken in one sitting!

He also said that he was in a taxi one time, wishing his ex-girlfriend (this one) happiness (I can't remember whether or not this was a different phone call), and the taxi driver (who was female) turned around and was like, "Wah! Mister, you are so sweet and romantic!"

Awww... looks like another one of my top guy idols is super-sweet and romantic and hung up on his first love. But I wish him happiness in the future!

Wilber Pan WeiBo, who is usually seen on stage, singing and dancing, has, in private life, an astonishing appetite and capacity for food. On the 20th, he was interviewed on a Mainland television program; he revealed that, whenever he is in a bad mood, he relies on "crazily eating" to relieve his stress. As a result, he was always very fat when he was young... "fat to the point where my legs would rub together as I walked. They rubbed until they chafed and bled!" He also revealed some details about his own past love life: he cried for a month over one particular break-up; two years ago, when he heard that his ex-girlfriend was getting married, he was so upset that he stuffed himself to the extreme, gobbling down 20 pieces of chicken and a bunch of French Fries in just one sitting.

Although the "present-day" Wilber is very different from the pre-debut Wilber, his appetite is still two to three times that of the average person's. He said, "When it comes to food, I just can't resist. I'll eat anything. In one meal, I can eat seven to eight bowls of rice. I'm also not picky." His record company later asked him to lose weight in preparation for his debut; they even promised to give him $10,000 NTD for each kilogram he lost. In the end, Wilber relied on persistent diet and exercise to successfully shed his excess weight. However, whenever he is upset or unhappy, he finds it impossible to control his cravings and urges for food. He mocked himself, "So when people look at me, it's like looking at a rubber ball. He also discussed his "first love"; he and his girlfriend dated for five years. In the end, they broke up because they were separated-- in two different countries-- for too long. Wilber, however, just couldn't forget her-- he cried for nearly a month straight after their break-up. Although he ultimately accepted the fact of their break-up, the two still kept in touch.

Right after Wilber wrote 戴上我的愛 [Dai Shang Wo De Ai] [Put On My Love], a song which describes the promise of two people to love for a lifetime, in 2006, he received the unexpected news that his "first love" was planning on getting married. He broke his strict diet and began to eat crazily: 20 pieces of chicken and a bunch of French Fries in one sitting.* In the end, Wilber dedicated the song to her as a congratulatory gift.

There is a HUGE difference in the previous Wilber and the current Wilber. That's why, I think, people are "accusing him" of getting plastic surgery. Which is actually not a very unreasonable argument. If you look at that picture, it really looks like two different people. (ONLY that picture.) The Wilber before looked very different from the Wilber after.

But then, what people fail to realize is that Wilber made a debut in the Entertainment Circle. I personally feel that when people go to the Entertainment circle, they have to change their entire image, otherwise companies won't want to manage them. The whole point, though, is that plastic surgery won't make Wilber change to the photo on the right. That picture is simply a more up-to-date style of Wilber, more flashy, and thinner. His hair, of course, had something done. The face color is because of the lighting.

I doubt Wilber had plastic surgery.

I don't even see how that picture is "evidence." Is that the only picture they can find? Personally, I find it rather unsupportive. But if you look closely, there is a tremendous difference in the two photos-- I actually find the previous Wilber cute, too but I like the current Wilber best

ANYWAYS! back to Will.. hmms when did you guys started liking him? just this yr because of MNG? i liked him since.. like 2005 ish .. which when i think about it now.. is quite a long time.. i remembered the first time i saw him is him in the Mzone concert and he was dancing to "expert" and i was like awww the music is cool and his dance is awesome .. then i started searching for his songs and i TOTALLY fell in love with his songs then started supporting him.. i thought i'll quit liking him by now but nopes i'm more crazy abt him than before! i love his music.. i love his dance.. etc etc.
he's a really really cute guy~ actually.. he's pretty much a kid ! watching his NGs in MNG is sooooo funny! i watch it like over and over again ! speaking of MNG! omg he did a GREAT job! like i wasn't expecting a lot from him when there was news about him acting in that show but it turned out really really good! and he acted his character so good that i think that TangMen is actually him but then lol.. i remember i was bored one day then started watching one of his shows back in like 2006 (muahaha i got like 23GBs of Will's vids on my comp; my friends all say im crazy but yeah hehehe just had to mention that HAHHAHAHA since im proud of it LOL [okay.. i'm weird]) and i was like going omg that's like so different to Will himself!

I want to visit him in his english corner on his blog now! how do we do that? i'll have to look around on that site again. i didn't know he visits everyday! that's so cool, and just makes me appreciate him even more. i really want to support him and let him know he's got english speaking fans too.

i can't believe you've been a fan since 2003! I discovered him only this year, but i have been pretty excited about him since my discovery and one of my favorite hobbies is watching him on variety shows. i think seeing him live is one of my favorite ways to see him. the best part about those behind the scenes in BLXH is watching him be so goofy and fun.


*shaking my head* yes, yes...unfortunately, i DO remember this style. poor wilber. even a cutie like him had bad hair moments. luckily, those days are over. his hair looks great. lol. i wonder if he gets his hair straightened then? because it doesn't look the least bit curly anymore.
plastic surgery? oh, please. the media really needs to find something more substantial to write about. i have a hard time believing that baloney at all.

As for the article....i have lots to say, but i shant say it all...all i will say is that it breaks my heart to think about our dear Will crying for a month because the love of his life was getting married. i can't even imagine. when i heard about that same thing happening to my other beloved star, i was heartbroken too...honestly, sometimes i wonder if all this entertainment circle business is good for these guys (selfishly, i want to see them do more so i can enjoy them, but for their own good, i worry sometimes). it seems like they leave home, they get so busy they don't remember to eat or sleep. they're constantly on shows, in shopping malls, radio stations---not resting....sigh. and all of it alone, away from their friends and family, the ones that knew them before they were famous. and not only that, but it really seems pretty hard for these young stars to find love while they're in the industry... i got sad thinking about will in that state. he's usually so chipper and sweet and fun. but i think it shows that he has a lot of depth to him too though...that he can feel so much....but at the same time, i'm glad he was able to bounce back.

lastly... i can't believe his company PAID him to lose weight! lol. he sure likes to eat, that boy! everything about him really makes me smile.
