In HOG, there were many scenes with Linda's character and Raymond's character writing Diary entries. What did you think of them? Did you bother to watch it all? I thought it was a waste of film and was boring. Like, today is the 800+ day without Seung Joi Sum.....lalalala. And then when you think all those hundred days are over, Raymond's character dies and it's Linda's character's turn to write the Diary entries. Day 200+ without Ching Leung, today is gloomy...lalalala. ect.
And did anyone pay attentioned to how many days without Seung Joi Sum and how many day without Ching Leung? I want to know how many days/years was that in total. It seemed like a really short time, but then when you see the numbers, you go woah

I know the series is done but I rewatched it recently and I thought it had a lot of meaning during the diary entries. The entries expressed their thoughts about each other and it was not a waste of film. I thought it was sweet and romantic how both of them wrote about each other and at the same time. In my opinion, it was not boring. Raymond's character should have never died, they make such a good couple in the film.

i think if you pay attention to what they say, they round up what happened within the couple of years. but i did think it was dragged on too long but it was a great way of telling time.

I think they put too many scenes of them writing their diaries. I really hated it towards the end because they kepy playing the same song every time.
Yeah, and when they say how many dys it's been you think a lot must of happened to the Tong family but they only show bits, if Seung Joi Sum mentions it.
I know it shows what happened to them during that time but they could of shortened it a bit and put not as much of them scenes in.
Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed the diary scenes. I felt that they portrayed the characters' feelings most earnestly, even when they were trying to hide them from each other.

while I thought some of those scenes were necessary and even powerful, there were too many and many dragged on.
I also agree with another poster, after a while I really started to hate that english song they played over and over again... please don't let me hear that song EVER again.

I loved the diary scenes - I thought it was a great way for Alfred and Sum to express their longing for each other, their pain over what had happened, and also the what-ifs. I also thought it was a neat way for the series to show that time has passed. The diary scenes was what made me forgive Alfred over his cheating and start rooting for him again.

totally agreed, those diary scenes are so important for us (as viewers) cause it shows how Alfred feels and how he loved Seung Joy Sum. I really hoped they would be together right before Alfred died...so sad

I loved the Diary Scenes too! They really showed how Alfred loved Sheung Joi Sum esp. the part on how he missed her, thinking about her! And the viewers would know that Alfred truely regret of what he had done to Sheung Joi Sum!

I actually liked these scenes. I thought it was pretty cute, expeically Raymond's diary entries, they were mainly all about how much he missed Linda. The diary enteries really showed how much Raymond loved Linda, but Linda had left him because of what he has done to her.
