Meat has protein and other nutrients your body need. I have a friend that is a vegetarian and he admits that its not the healthiest thing to do. He has to take supplements everyday to make up for the lack of protein and other nutrients and minerals only found in meat.
meat is so good!! and i agree, they have some proteins that vegetables don't have. eat meat is good but not abuse of it... most of women just eat vegetables to keep fit cuz meat is fat but check out what kind of meat you're eating. some are healthy and some are not. those with too much fat can affect you're health like bacon and sausages. i heard somewhere that chicken and fish are the mostly recommended.

Meat has iron, which is something your body needs. When you're a vegetarian, you really can't be a picky eater towards non-meat food. I know some people who became vegetarians gained more weight because all they ended up eating were stuff like french fries and all.

Yes, meat contains some protiens and nutrients that only meat have thats why people still eat meat and plus the food isnt as plain and tastes nicer.
There are pros and cons being a vegetarian with pros - leading to a healthier and better lifestyle to cons - being difficult to eat out, even though most restaurants are willing to modify for you and taking B12 supplements etc
Personally I would want to become a vegetarian because I feel sorry for animals being breed to be eaten by humans, thats why I refuse to eat certain meat. But I cant resist eating meat lol and its very difficult because my whole family are carnivores haha

Vegetarian can live a unhealthy life because they can sometimes skip the stuff that your body needs to go healthy
I say, be vegetarian during the day, and non-vegetarian at night! there fore you get the best of both worlds, all your nutrients, and I suppose you consume less meat?

I think being a vegetarian is not necessarily healthy because there are nutrients that the body needs from meats. I think a balanced diet is better. As for myself, I eat too much meat and not enough vegetables. I am definitely not vegetarian.

personally i dont think it is healthy, coz you need meat to burn up your metabolisme and carbohidrat.....try to keep the balance, that should be the best....unless you alergy..

I did want to be a vegetarian a while ago, wen i found out how brutally animals are treated and turn into food for us to consumed. However my family eat meat, and pretty much everything chinese is meat related, so yea turning vegetarian didnt work out as my parents always made food with meat in it. I'm sure i can survive without meat but yea, meat is nice

u kidding me? humans need meat to survice, or they'll be weak as sloths. meat is the main sourse for protein.
other than that, meat is sooooo good, im drooling right now, think about the tenderness of a prime rib. how could u only eat vegetables, dont u get fed up with it? like imagine eating spinich for the rest of ur life.

it's pretty hard to be a vegetarian because you will have to give up meat and also it is not that good for your health. sure you are eating vegetables but then your body still needs protein to gain energy. I had a friend who did that before and it was really crazy and hard to go out and eat. the main thing is you will not be full as much or strong. i prefer staying a meat eater..

Eating just veggies can not be as healthy as you think. eating to much of anything will make a person sick. I know a friend that eats only veggies and if she even smells any kind of meat she gags. It's bad for her not in a sense of health but socially. There aren't that many places out there that serves nothing but veggie.

I read in a newspaper article once that eating red meat increases your chances of having breast cancer (for women of course) by a lot.
I became a vegetarian not long ago (not because of the breast cancer thing.. clearly, since I don't have breasts) but I'm a bit of a cheat vegetarian because I eat fish. I am currently a lot healthier than I used to be. You just have to make sure you get enough nutrients and stuff. It's not very hard once you get used to it.

I have tried becoming a vegetarian but you have to be careful to eat a lot of protein to make up the missing protein from not eating meat

I like vegetables. I think vegetables are very healthy for your body and it does have protein in there that meat doens't give one, but I'm not too much on vegetables. I only like a certain type of vegetables, but I love meat. I can't stand going on with a day without meat. I have a couple of friends that are vegeterians, they say that it isn't that bad as long as you get used to it.

If you are a vegetarian, it is possible to get your protein from beans and tofu and lentils and other sources other than meat. But I think you must be aware that you need to eat those beans, etc on a daily basis. My parents are vegetarians, but they always have some other source of protein daily.

I think it's just really the way we eat. It's all about moderation.
Me, I have to have meat.

Is this about pros and cons or life style? i guess for some poeple it can be about will power others its religion and so on.
Personally i love meat and really cant have something that has no meat in it. I tried eating veg for a day. it really didnt work. I couldnt think of any foods that were vegitarian to eat and once home i find the ways of cooking are limited. Obviously if i looked i can find dish and substitutes but with so much meat products i guess im to lazy to go and find a vegitarian style dish
I think eating lots of vege and meat two/three times a week, fish 2/3 times a week is eating in balance. Make sure you alternate your vegs and the fish/meat types. Too much of anything is not good.
You also could take extra multi-vitamins since some time you don't have enough of them in your food.
And, don't forget to exercise in moderation too!

i think both is just as good.. but as a pure vegetarian.. you will need to eat a very wide variety of fruits and vegetables as nutrients like iron, vit b complex and protein don't come by easy as a vegetarian...
i am a non vegetarian.. but i eat a lot of fruits and vegetables.. it will help with digestive system and also increase your immunity...

I love my meat but having your 5 portions of fruit and veg is a step in the right direction too! Its about getting the right balance and eating healthily as well!
