DBSK Xiah Junsu and Jang Riin's Timeless was a cross-national duet that created quite a stir in the Asian Entertainment scene. A Korean-Chinese collab that proves that two Asian singers from different nationality can work together to create a beautiful song that would dissolve the language barrier of Asia. The Duet was so popular, it even made Jang Riin bagged the best newcomer award at MKMF 2006.

Recently, at the October 13, 2007 episode of Star King, a cross-national duet was seen by the Korean Viewers. A duet between SuJu's Kyuhyun, a Korean, and Child Sensation, Charise Pempengco, a Filipina. Their performance of Aladdin's A Whole New World was so Beautiful that this duet have proven once again how two people of different nationalities can make beautiful music together.

Between these duets, Which do you prefer? I'm asking based on our individual taste and preferences so, as mush as possible, avoid bashing the other duet which you didn't choose, okay? Just state why you prefer the duet you choose. Remember, both duets are good in their own right.

Kyuhyun and Charise: A Whole New World

I gotta say, I fell in love with the duet between Kyu Hyun and Charice at once. Too bad, it is not an official song released, or else it could have done well. Charice has a really good vocal control and she could easily pull off just ANY notes she desires. If you watched that episode of Star King, you will see.

Now, I am not complaining about Timeless; it was well-done. But there is something about Jang Ri In's voice that doesn't attract me much. Plus, I have heard their one of their live performances and it erodes my liking for the song. It's not good, especially Jang Ri In's part.

A Whole New World was done live as well, but Charice was proven an absolute incredible live singer. So yeah, it is my choice.

I personally prefer Xiah Junsu's and Jang Ri In's timeless duet. I find that their voices blend together really beautifully in the song. Not the Charice and Kyu Hyun's duet wasnt good, Charice does have an amazing voice. But because the song they sang was A Whole New World, and their singing was really amazing, but because her voice singing that song was so different, it just didnt appeal to me as the original version of A Whole New World did. I'm sorry, i dont really know how to explain, but I personally didnt find that her voice suited that particular song...sorry if this is really confusing

Inasmuchas I luv DBSK Xiah Junsu because of his Cuteness and awesome talent, I have to say that Kyuhyun-Charice will get my vote this time.

I like Junsu/JangRiIn's Timeless and it made me loved Junsu more but Kyuhyun-Charice's rendition of A Whole New World can be called Perfect.

The first time I watched the vid on YouTube, I was so amazed. I was watching in awe and you can say that I was even waiting for a flaw in their performance. A mispronunciation on Kyuhyun's part or a high pitch not being reached but I don't know if it was just me but I didn't find anything wrong in their perf. Their voices was so powerful and so wonderful. Everything's so perfect it made me wonder if it was really their first time performing a song together. I asked myself "Have they rehearsed the song before actually performing it? Did Charice really chose KyuHyun randomly or the two of them already met before Star King and rehearsed the song several times?" If Charise did really choose Kyuhyun in random then that's an additional WOW. They complement each other despite the big age gap and different nationality.

I'm never a Kyuhyun fan before but this perf made me a big fan of him. I really want to see him and Charise perform again.

Oh my, did Lee SooMan see this perf? He've better approach the girl for a recorded collab!

i watched timeless...both singers did justice to the song.
i like their voices and they did blend.

i watched that duet performance of kunhyun and charice.
i got goosebumps. both have power voice. i was amazed
at charice power voice. i want to see them sing duet again.

OMG!!! just watched the clip of Kyuhyun and Charice's duet and it was awesome!!!! and Kyuhyun's english is pretty good judging from the song anyways.... and Charice she sure does have a good voice so does Kyuhyun both of them were good!!....
i have to say my vote goes to Kyuhyun and Charice , but i still like Xiah and Jang Ra Inn's Timeless =D

Charice is only 15. She mentioned something about her mother and her aunt training her to sing since she was four, and thus, the explosive result.

I am impressed that Kyu Hyun sounded almost like Peabo Bryson! I just listened to the original version of A Whole New World again and yeah, they're almost alike. I don't think Kyu Hyun is very good in English but him singing the song made him looked like he was good in English. Charice speaks excellent English so there was no problem with it.

any worth-discussing Junsu's poll i can not miss-- and Aspire for once i think we're not on the same page, but i guess cuz im biased I'm choosing Timeless ^^

gotta say i was a lil' skeptical when thinking Kyun Hyun (hadn't seen him till now) sings A Whole New World, one of my fave Disney songs, but it was like WOW, soo good and their voices blended so well-- its always a wonder that Korean guys don't know English but they sing it like they're the master of it or something^^

however there's always a but-- it was totally a different feeling when i listen to Timeless and this song-- maybe it wasn't Junsu singing that i don't quite have any feelings besides, wow this duet is really good-- with Timeless, I'm beyond drooling, I have to strain myself to take in every emotional expression Junsu has to offer while singing and how he'd dramatically lower his voice as the chorus to allow Ri In emerged with her shaky strong one, and how he'd tilt his head back and a lil' to the left side as he hit the hight notes and how the camera zoomed in on his perfect sculptured jawline................................. i think i shouldn't go on or i won't be able to stop rambling........................... but u see AWNW is upbeat and light while Timeless is sad and may i say intense? soo the feeling should be different but with Junsu... I'm beyond biased Timless Forever <333

i think both kyuhyun and charice have amazing voices, but they don't go well together in a duet. i'd much rather prefer junsu-jang ri in.

junsu + zhang were REALLY good with Timeless.


but I LOVED Charice + Kyu.

I am a bit biased though, because I LOVE KYUHYUNNIE!!

I have to say Kyuhyun and Charice were better. Their voices ocmplimented each other better. Junsu's voice didn't go well with JangRi. Her voice is too high, its a bit odd with Junsu's husky voice.

I like the KyuHyun-Charice duet. But I don't find Charice's voice fitting to the song. I mean, A Whole New World is kind of a musical song & Charice's voice is just so powerful for the song. She must have sung it in a soft and smooth way. KyuHyun's voice is perfect for that song.

if not for charice-kyuhyun rendition of a whole new world i wouldn't have known the group super junior--sory! but now i loved the group along with dbsk and shinhwa. their duet is far better than junsu and his partner. just think about it, kyuhyun and charice didn't practice but an impromptu...

I like Charice & Kyuhyun's better =) I love Junsu but something about zhang liyin just doesn't do it for me...

I really can't get enough of their duet....everytime I visit youtube I really never fail to watch charice and kyuhyun singing a whole new world..for me it is really one of those performances that you can never be tired of watching hahaha...their voice and emotion really smashed together!!!!! o by the way just wanna share charice and alicia keys had a duet together...with david foster backing her up I really can't imagine where she's heading, among those who performed at the MGM grand were Josh Groban, John mayer, Alicia keys, Catherine Zeta jones, and P. diddy hosted the show if I'm not mistaken.. but charice was the only performer who got a standing ovation....cool!!!!!!

I love that song so much, it's my most played in my playlist now, it's just so breathtakingly good. Whenever it comes up in my playlist, I have to listen to it like 3 times before I move on haha. An awesome, awesome collaboration!!

I'm a Junsu fan... but basing it on their live performance I'd pick Kyuhyun and Charice's duet. Jang ri in.. I don't know.. her voice is really good but when she sings timeless live there are parts that are off. Maybe it's just me. I really like Jang ri in's voice. I saw her interviews where she sings live and english songs too. So my choice is purely based on the choices! LOL! but not based on their talent as singers.

in my opinion i would choose jang ri and xiah junu because i can feel their chemistry!!

im not a fan of junsu's tone of voice, and ri in's voice doesnt amaze me either. sure she has quite a range, but so does charice

I'd go with Junsu and Jang Rin most definitely. I believe that their vocals are better than the other two--no offense at all!!..and also, I'm a huge fan of Junsu because his talents never cease to amaze me. His voice is soothing and perfect=)

i already watched it and for me the blend of their voice are totally awesome when they sing "A whole new world" i love it..

i fell in love with kyucha.. i love their rendition <3.. i also like xiah and jang's timeless... but i prefer kyucha's version of a whole new world ^^ it was so captivating.. i doubt they really rehearsed the short impromptu of the song.. they sang it so beautifully and their voices blended so well.. which made me wanna smile everytime i see them perform together... i so love their interaction eheheh they made me fall in love with them ahahahas.. =) i hope they get to do more duets ...

as much as i love junsu, i would say kyuhyun and charice's duet does it for me... oh, and Father SM did offer charice a contract (lucky girl, i know a lot of girls DYING to be SM trainees), but she didn't accept because she was still under contract with a different label.

as much as I think I think Charise is a better in the vocals than Jang Ri In, I agree w/ the others that there's just so much more chemistry between Xiah & Jang Ri In =) I must be biased b/c I'm totally a Xiah & Jang Ri In supporter lol =D and as much as Kyuhyun is an AMAZING singer, when I hear them duet Charise is just so good that she kind of outclasses him to me.. in my opinion o__o & I think it would be the same as well if she sang w/ any other DBSK, SJ or any of those other singers, her voice is just too powerful!
