Synopsis
Koizora tells the story of Mika, living a simple school girl's life until one day, when she loses her phone in the library. It is soon discovered that her phone was recovered by a boy named Sakurai Hiroki, who first communicates with Mika through her phone, until the day they finally meet when Hiro returns Mika her phone. From then on, a friendship turned to a romantic relationship, but hardships like rape and disagreement meet the couple along the way. And then, Hiro breaks up with Mika. What actually happened? Does Hiro have a reason for still following after Mika even after breaking up with her? Koizora is a tear jerking movie that will let many realize the true meaning of love.

But during the spring of senior high school, Hiro said goodbye abruptly to Mika. Despite heartbroken, she nursed it slowly throughout the years, and went out with another guy, Yu. Years later, Mika finally found out the reason for Hiro's abrupt dissapearence. What happened? And why does Hiro still follow Mika, despite already breaking up?

The movie was originally a cell phone short story, and the female character was named after the writer herself. At the end of the serialization, the story had 25 million readers, and the novel published afterwards sold approximately 2 million copies. It was also adapted in to a short TV drama series with 6 episodes, and the first audience rating was .5.6%.

It sounds so tender. I love "Real Life" type movies and stories... they are so unforgettable and stay with you years later. (Like Byakuyakou)

The Kinokuniya in Singapore has the book in Chinese. I've finish reading them!!! The story from the book is very detailed and nice but I would say in terms of romance, I find that the movie version is more romantic

I really want to see this movie in eng subs... I already watched a couple trailers and some spoiler moments?! in youtube. It had me crying so bad XD But it looks very romantic... though sad.

I just watched a bit on Tudou, though I didn't understand all of it, I could fairly guess what was going on. There's definitely some very romantic cute parts between Hiro and Mika. He's such a cool guy and she's such a sweetheart. Sigh. I would definitely like these two actors to be paired up again in work onscreen. Good chemistry. So sweet. So sweet.

But I didn't watch the ending because
1. I want to watch it with the eng subs and
2. I don't feel like crying much right now.

XD maybe another day I'll finish this movie.

Cliched, cliched, cliched. But I liked the mature way they handled the issue of death. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. It was alright. The cinematography was very good, and there's sufficient eyecandy.

i just watched this movie few days ago

high school love story, more to puppy-love its sweet though, how hiro thinks of Mika whatever he does.
their love kind went really fast.
but the ending is really touching, i must say, i did cried here and there while watching!
and i forgot to say, haruma who acted as hiro was really HOT

if only hiro didnt die! and he should tell mika about his illness...
even though i was touched by the way he protected mika by not telling on the problem and faced it alone. but this also shorten the time they could have spent together! i think the movie was great and a definite must watch to all! if only they didn't rush too much of the story... turn it to a dorama? maybe! i would watch if the cast remain the same!! xD

Gonna go out n buy tis dvd today since i read somewhere else it's released. Hopefully it's as gd as Heavenly Forest, my fav jmovie.

i just watched this last night cause my cousin had it and soft subs were released.. man. THUMBS UP for the two of them.. their acting was really cool! for their age, it was really great already.. it didnt look fake at all..

i cried a lot though.. i loved it when Mika said that she was pregnant and Hiroki just ran off. and came back with a really kawaii face haha

just a quick thing.. Hiroki (Miura) and the other boyfriend of Mika (Koide Keisuke) were both in Gokusen series haha Miura in the recent one and Koide in Gokusen 2. hahah Mika's sister is one of the three girls who bullied Makino in HANA YORI DANGO. haha

just finished watching this a minute ago.. suddenly got curious of the movie because of the nice posts regarding it at the news section..

i sooo love it!!! i was crying non-stop especially during the last parts.. it's just sooo unfair..such a sad ending indeed.. *me on the verge of tears again*
im really touched with regards to the couple's love for each other..that's why im really crying so hard when the unexpected had to happen to Hiro!!
on the brighter side, it's definitely a great movie!!!!!! for the others who still haven't watched it, "mitte kudasai!!" .. plus Gakky and Miura's acting in there felt sooo real, now im kinda rooting for them!! LOL..plus Miura's soo kakkoi and cute in that bleached hairdo of his.. it's actually my first time watching him as well as Gakky.. so probably i wud get to watch their other works..gotten curious with Gokusen 3..hehehe..

whenever i listen to the songs used in the movie, Heavenly Days by Gakky and Tabidachi No Uta by Mr. Children, im having deep flashbacks about the movie especially the very touching and sad parts.. waaaaaa!! makes me wanna watch it again..

Oh my god, I loved this movie.

It made me cry from start to end, was just such a touching, simple love story.
Many people might criticise it for being unrealistic, and I suppose the telling of events into one movie made it seem a little rushed. BUT, no matter, it was a beautiful intepretation of love, how it's so selfless yet selfish at the same time.

Not to mention, Hiro is HOT. Gosh, and he's only 1 year older than I am (oops I'm revealing my age here).

I'm still suffering from the after-effects, pondering on the story and the hidden meanings behind everything. Definitely a movie I'd watch again with my man.

I bet you will love the story even more after reading the novel. It's so much better - just imagine Aragaki and Haruma in their respective roles! The Jap version captures the whole thing most vivdly...somehow..

where can i read the novel?? in English?? im trying to look for it but found nothing..or it's just that i don't know where to look..XD

i just watched this a week ago, and i have to say Koizora has become my favorite jap movie.
The casting was perfect, Yui Aragaki was too adorable, Haruma Miura was too hot, and together they made the cutest couple ever. It was hard not to fall in love with them.

I just finished this movie! It's SOOOOOO good! I love it!! I gotta admit, he looks better with the bleached hair, which is unusual!

I really really really love this movie. I hope they made this a drama instead of a movie.
And i heard they're going to but with a different cast. And that saddened me. (
I love the original cast better.

Hiro is so awesome and perfect...ahh such a good guy..but the actor was born in 1990?!?!? gosh i'm such a noona then..feel like a cradle robber....haha. but i loved his portrayal of Hiro!
The girl is really pretty and her acting is good too... not annoyingly over-cute!
Hope they work together again in the future..

Lastly, i bet no one really cares about my random ramblings so i'll make myself useful!!

This is the best movie alive!!!!! (Well one of them at least!!) Just watched it yesterday, because my friend recommended it to me. Cried heaps!! I think I cried for the whole end half an hour where Mika finds out about Hiro's sickness : ( I cried like someone in my family died or something O_O (thank god my parents were sleeping LMFAO)
SO VERY SAD. Thinking about it makes me want to cry.
I would also love to read the book in chinese!!! It's such a touching story!!

I think if I watch it a second time, I'll cry even more in the beginning because I know how sad it is in the end. It's such a beautiful story, I love how Mika says that she's still in love with the sky. Hiro wants to be the sky so he can see Mika all the time. AGHHHHH *sniffs and blows nose* LMFAOO. yupyup. I am officially addicted to this movie. I think I won't stop thinking about this for a whole week...or month...or forever maybe. who knows? LMFAO ^^
