If you think Hebe is too cute for Lee Wei, then you're in luck because Bull Fighting has Mike and Hebe as a couple. Not Lee Wei.

I don't think people should judge a person just because of their looks.

I admit, he's not the hottest guy, but I like him.

I loved him in My Lucky Star and now in Bull Fighting. He's a really good actor. He can portray different characters and has a lot of feelings. So I like him regardless of how he looks.

I actually think it's a good thing that he's not one of those idols who only get by based on their looks.

I really don't think hes ugly. Maybe hes not so hot compared to Jimmy Lin or Mike He, but hes acting skills are pretty legit. You should look at more of his acting. I personally think he is OK lookin; his skills make him look hotter. For some reason, he always play the dark and mysterious "good guy", and I have to say, its a hard role to portray. Look at his acting more, you will learn to like him

Personally, I think his looks are average. Nothing special.. but not ugly either. As for acting, it's pretty decent... So far, he hasn't really irritated me one bit...

Can you elaborate more on why you think that Lee Wei can't compete with Mike? In what way? Lee Wei started out a long time ago, even before Mike was famous. Basically, he has more experiences than Mike. How is that incomparable to Mike?

I don't know, but you don't seem to have watched enough of his drama to judge him like this. I'm afraid you look at his physical appearance more than other things he could give. I think without Lee Wei, Bull Fighting will be totally incomplete, regardless of whether he is good-looking or not.

I think Lee Wei's a great actor. Although he might not have the "idol" look.
But how far can looks go? People age etc... Plus different people have differen't idea of handsome...

Hmm, I'm neutral. Lee Wei came out a long time ago... I caught the "beginning" of his career... he was kind of arrogant and full of himself at the time, but I don't really get that "vibe" from him now... which is good. It means he's obviously more mature now...

I don't find him attractive at all, but I think that he's tried to "get away from" that "idol" label, anyways. At least I don't see him "mugging" all the time for the camera any more.

I've only watched him in Say Yes! Enterprise (2004) so far. I hated his character, but he didn't do a BAD job. It seems like most people in this thread think he was good in My Lucky Star and Bull Fighting, which are both on my list of "to watch" dramas, so... my opinion may change.

I agree with Aspire and rainysunday about the reason you dislike or shall I say 'hate' lee wei. You seem to be not into his looks =P Which is fine... but to dislike or hate someone based purely on that is just.... a 'meangingless' hate.

Although I am not a fan of Lee Wei, I don't think someone should be judged based purely on his looks.

To me, lee wei is not handsome, but he gives out an aurora of a man who is strong in acting who brings out the characters feelings to a great extent.

- The Child from Heaven (Tian Tang Lai de Hai Zi)
- Bull Fighting

And I have to say his acting is brilliant in some of those scenes he is in. He isn't super great, but he isn't bad. He isn't a total idol nor he is someone who is great and well known, but he is a consistent actor who can realli slide well into the roles he is in.

To me, an actor or actress does not have to be pretty to be idolised. It is their talent, + the bonus looks that makes me a fan on them.

Lee Wei haters? I'm pretty sure most of us aren't going to judge on his looks. The first time I heard of the drama and searched him up. I found him quite decent looking. Like everyone else of course he doesn't compare to the other males out there but he's alright looking. Acting wise. He's pretty good compared to others.

Sometimes he is SUPPOSED to act as a fierce guy to fit the storyline. For example, when he is standing up for Yi Sheng Xue, he must look fierce! If not, how would people be scared of him?
Being able to look fierce when he is supposed to makes him a good actor! Making the audience think that he looks scary is the desired results at times, isn't it?

its really superficial to judge a guy just because of his looks. besides, i do not think he is ugly, he looks quite cutez at times. if its because of mike is hotter in the show, or his hairstyle is ugly, i think its really unfair to him. we shouldn't just dislike someone just because of his looks. they are all human, you can't expect everyone to be perfect.

I felt the same way. I meant he is able to deliver his character convincingly so he shouldn't be hold against 'cause of appearance. I don't think he's ugly either. He has this cute smile if you want to talk about looks, but other than that, I only notice him recently since I just begin watch TW dramas again. But upon seeing MLS, first I didn't know why they introduce him into the series to make it more complicated, but I didn't think that MLS would be the same without his character or him portraying that role. It adds another element to the series itself and makes it even more good.



Bull Fighting is on my "To-watch" list too after I finish about 10+ series that I set out but didn't finish yet (lol). And I'm glad to know that he has lighten or soften down the on the "camera-hugging" image. 'Cause he wouldn't get far with that attitude. I must agree that it must be maturity after all this time in the industry and learning the "ropes".

Others has already stated reasons, so I don't want to repeat further, but I want to emphasize that his acting is decent and if he is capable of portraying his characters convincing, then he's worth the attention from fans. (aka Don't bash him 'cause of looks. At least he will be popular 'cause of his talent and not all about "LOOKS" like some actors.)

when mike he and lee wei first started off, mike he was lee wei's dog. the roles have recently been switched, but lee wei is still relevant in taiwan's tv.

but all i know is, lee wei is a much better actor than mike he.

If I judge him by the looks, i can't say he's ugly lets just say he's unattractive. I saw one drama of him recently on tv where his hair is longer and kinda curly, total turn-off, good thing his hair look much better in Bull.

Yeah I guess he is famous in Tw since he has two series thats currrently showing on tv.

LeeWei's acting is extremely convincing. And to me, he's not "ugly." If he was, I doubt he'd even be accepted into the entertainment circle.
His acting from MLS ------> BF already improved to me. He could show more emotion now, and he has tons of facial expressions.

So... it turns out that my first impression of him might actually be right.

Lee Wei's on the nomination list this year for Best Supporting Actor (for his performance in Bull Fighting) at the Golden Bell Awards. But, according to the newspapers, he is actually pretty "pissed" about being nominated in this category (they even had a QUOTE!)... he considers himself the LEAD of Bull Fighting. This upset SETTV, which nominated him for the nominations (yeah, it's complicated)... and then they called him "忘恩負義 ungrateful." Then, his agency had to step in to settle matters... and say that, to be recognized for his acting was an honor.

I wasn't too impressed with Lee Wei right off the bat. BF is the first (and only) drama with him that I've seen but I have to admit that by episode 5 or 6, I was pretty hooked on him. I already knew I liked Mike and I was in love with all of Trio and the leader of Lan Di... so I was surprised that I actually came around for Lee Wei. I think he's the type that doesn't blow you away on sight... but slowly creeps up on you. And sometimes that's the most effective.

That's better that than a pretty face that fades into so-so the more you look at it.

Can you watch this scene and maybe re-evaluate?

I am far from hating Lee Wei, I'm actually interested in him a lot while watching Bull Fighting. He acting is a lot more stable than Mike He's and Hebe. I didnt like Mike that much, his acting was pretty average. I didnt like his long hair and ugly wardrobe, who on earth wears white right now? Overall, Lee Wei really stood out a lot in the show, esp,with his character, you'll slowly fall for him. and i think he's pretty cute, i mean seriously.

To me, Lee Wei is very handsome. I am a big fan of his. He looked charming and cool in Calling Love. His acting in The Kid from Heaven was so moving, acting as a young father. I think he will go far in his acting career. I also love his singing voice. Mike He is also a favorite of mine. He is a cutie and idol star. His acting has really improved over the years. He's of a different wavelength to Lee Wei. Those who watch dramas are not all young fans. The drama has to tell a story that's relevant to our lives. Lee Wei's acting skills really make you really feel for his characters. Can't wait to see him in other roles. The hairstyle in BF was not the most flattering as compared to the one is Calling Love for Lee Wei, but when it comes to acting, he really wins hands down.

Naw, I don't hate him. While watching My Lucky Star, I thought that looks-wise, he didn't really look like an "idol" but acting-wise, he did a good job. He was much more convincing to me during his emotional scenes than Jimmy Lin and very likeable despite playing the cliched arrogant celebrity role. If anything, all he needs to do is fix his teeth a little and he'll look as good as any other Taiwanese actor imo.
