Jade Kwan Sum Yin's concert will soon open. Yesterday she rehearsed with her Japanese band. She has not paid any mind to all the negative rumors about the show. "I will use action to prove everything. I don't need too much clarification. As a new singer I can have a chance to perform a concert. The box office number has been decent. I am already very satisfied and will put an effort into doing my best." Jade also admitted that she has not taken any salary for the show as a part of the promotion.

After Jade Kwan's promotional clip was aired on Cable, causing the wrath of TVB and the suspension of co-operation with her record company BMA, Jade realises the serious consequences of her actions and has apologised publicly for her mistake. Earlier, she appeared at a fashion event and was careful in who she spoke to, avoiding any TV company interviews to avoid making any more mistakes.

However, TVB's assistant Managing Director Chan Chi Wan has said that this matter has now been passed to the lawyers to deal with. It would appear that Jade's apologies have done little to settle TVB's anger. She is reported to be a little worried, but she did not break the rules on purpose and does not know what she can do at the moment, so she has left this in the hands of her record company to deal with.

Jade also says that she knows she is in the wrong, as she is a contracted singer with TVB and should respect the terms of her contract. From now on she will follow the rules and guarantees there will not be another mistake. She also apologised profusely and is willing to correct her mistake. Will this affect her future work? Jade says that the record company has arranged for her to go to America next month for some singing lessons as a reward for her successful concert and so there will not be any direct effect for the near future. These lessons are quite expensive, costing $2000 a lesson and she plans to stay there for three or four weeks with all expenses paid by the company. She will also have an assistant with her and she is very grateful for the investment that the company is placing into her.

i love jade i mean look at poor hk its filled with all these "artists" who cant sing but just sell looks. jade's different, she can actually sing, and very good too! theres not a lot of "artists" in hk that can be a threat to jades talent.

i remember seeing jadestarbiz a few months ago that had a documentary on her lessons in japan~ it's pretty interesting, u can see how much effort she put into her music

yea we can all say that shes practically the only singer in her age group that puts their heart into singing. other singers sing for the fact of money. but look at jade, she spent a whole year finetuning herself before she signed with BMA in 2002 becasue of her persistancy to become an artist, and we shoudl all be proud of her for that

I have to agree with you on that. Jade's got that baby face that other ppl say charmaine and annie man's got. Jade can definately sing better than any of the cookies or 2R too.

Yea I have to agree. She has a personal style of singing like how most of the 80's artists do, but the modern artists don't have. Therefore, some artists sound the same because they don't have style.

Jade Kwan Sum Yin and at17 yesterday supported Lam Yat Fung at his October 6 and 7 concert press conference. Kwan Sum Yin even appeared in a flight attendant costume. Although Gigi Leung Wing Kei and Anthony Wong Yiu Ming did not attend, they sent recorded messages to support their friend.

First time in a flight attendant costume, Kwan Sum Yin said that she has never thought about becoming a flight attendant because she knew she was too short to even touch the overhead compartments.

As a passenger, Kwan Sum Yin said that she would cover herself with towels or clothing while on a plane to keep from being photographed, but she does not mind pictures for flight attentants because their jobs are very difficult on a plane and a picture does not cause too many problems.

Jade is great! She's one of the best singers in the industry now. Hopefully she will continue to improve and become even more better at her singing. I love her song " Fong Sarng" and hope she releases a new album soon. Although her current compilation is a good album with all her hits. Actually Jade is much more prettier in real life than when you see her in photos. I saw her during the summer in HK when I bumped into her in a hotel. Lucky me!! hehe!

i recently went to the Jade Kwan concert in Vancouver and watched her perform some songs....her voice is alright, but i wonder what really draws her to the fans in Vancouver?...is it her hard work, voice, or is it cause she was raised in Vancouver and is really hot?...

the pictures i uploaded are a bit deceiving as they dont show her true beauty in reality....these pictures do not do justice to her astonishing beauty...however, they were the best that i could find...anyone who's seen her live will tell you she is really pretty!!!...
when i first started listening to her...i was like...man, another mediocure artist, but then, i watched her performed those songs, and she was awesome...
her stage presence lights up the concert...she lights up the audience with both her singing and her beauty...

apparently, she went to japan to fine tune her voice after she accidentally overheard from the producers that she wasn't going to cut it during her audition to win a record signing...
her hard work has really paid off and it shows in her songs...

as for my personal opinion, I like Jade Kwan and I think that she's pretty =) her singing skills are only okay to me.. I do like some of her songs though.

I think Jade Kwan is 1 of the newcomers that can "actually" sing, she can hit the high and low notes without sounding like she's out of breath. Her songs are pretty good too. In terms of her look, she is only mediocre, her features are too sharp, if that make sense.

Jade Kwan has a really nice voice and have very good songs:D in terms of appearance, she does look decent, but most importantly, her songs are good:D really good:P

Not into her singing but love's her songs...i'm not saying she have a bad voice...but she does sound like a broken record to me sometimes...I believe she can become a superstar one day becuase she's talented

i have to agree that this girl is one of the better quality singer in the market. Even though she got the looks, her song quality speak for iteself.

I think jades singing is so-so, its not up to par yet but that can be worked on, she has the potential to be the top female singer in probably a few years time.

As for her looks, I think its ok, not that pretty, I don't know if its just me or does she put a lot of make up on sometimes? Because in some pictures, it seems she has an inch think layer of make up on her face. But the photos shown above dont seem like that...
