Well, he's got the Most Improved Actor Award (2006) under his belt and in leading roles for quite a number of series already. Not as good looking as his peers like Bosco, Samuel or Ron but acting and opportunies wise, he's has not lost to them.

I see the similarity between him & Bobby. In the early stages of their career, both struggling to get roles, not as good looking as their fellow actors, not too favourable with advertisers, sponsors but favourable with the audience.

Both have that witty, traditional ways which the public can identify with. Low profile, rarely in the news (rumours) for the wrong reason. Look around TVB and the would be '#1 Brother' position or rather the more 'accessible actor' by the viewers, you don't find many. Those who are made would rather be free agents than sign on with TVB. Gallen Lo for example, making good money in China (more than TVB) and stations like TVB, ATV trying to entice him to film for them.

I believe TVB recognise the fact that they need these actors/actress or the viewership ratings will keep on going down. Although lots of effort have gone to promoting the 'next generation' of artiste, viewers are clamouring for those who had left to return. People like Flora, Maggie, Gallen for example.

Ratings are always a concern, use to be veterans like Roger & Bobby will ensure ratings but I guess not anymore. Getting 'well-known' actors like Alex Fong to come in but I don't think it's working.

So, who should they promote to the next level? I can only see Kenneth moving up the ladder and I won't be surprise he gets another award next year. With the number of series he's in airing next year, it should be a good bet. So move over, here comes Kenneth Ma.

Well give me Kenneth Ma any day, and I'll take him over those Mr. Hks they're promoting now. I think they should promote older male artistes around Gigi, Charmaine's age. It's really tiring to see Gigi and Charmaine pair up with Bowie, Roger, Moses, Kevin, and even Raymond again and again. And then they have more actresses like Melissa Ng, Maggie Cheung, and Flora coming back, and really, I want to see other actors pairing up with them other than the above ones I mentioned. Surely, there must be other 30ish-40ish old guys at TVB who they could promote right or try to recruit?

I would love to see Raymond, Bosco, Ron lead more series, but somehow their series when they are the lead don't really fare as well with ratings or TVB doesn't show them, so I think TVB is scared of ratings plummeting. Notice how it's never one of them being the main lead. It's always one of them maybe being the lead and also another one being in the serie too. They're more willing to push series with veterans/older actors & actresses because the audience would watch these people more.

Well, I don't think that Kenneth Ma is the next Bobby Au Yeung. At least, that's what I think for the time being. Kenneth Ma lacks the X factor/charisma that Bobby has that attracts audience. Bobby may not be good looking but he's really funny and his acting is solid. When he's happy, you can feel his joy. When he cries, you feel for him. His crying scenes were superb in Dicey Business.

As for Kenneth Ma, he still needs to brush up on his acting skills. He may be rather stiff at times but he's certainly better than Ron Ng and the other newcomers. Anyway, for all we know, Kenneth may indeed become the #1 brother at TVB in a few years time.

Well, as to who I feel that TVB should promote more, it would have to be Raymond Lam and Bosco Wong. I love this two to the core, they're really good. They can act and of course, they're hotties

TVB ought to promote Nancy Wu and Leila Tong MORE, they're seriously under promoted. TVB is trying too hard to promote Kate Tsui, Fala Chan & Linda Chung. It gets tiring to see them onscreen every now and then. It's annoying.

Kenneth Ma was great. i like watching his show but sometime i feeling that he need to improve his acting skill as he always act in the same way.

i do not think Kenneth Ma will be the 1st brother in TVB, but i think he will be a actor with good acting skill,

I see your point, Both Bobby and Kenneth are really hard working actors, but (sorry Bobby fans) Kenneth is better looking than bobby, and not so chubby. I don't think they are in the same category. Bobby is more of the funny type. I don't think Kenneth would be like him.

Kenneth should be like Roger or maybe kevin.
Bosco should be like booby.

i seen kenneth act in a few dramas and thought he was pretty good but bobby will always be bobby

I don't think Kenneth Ma is the next Bobby Au. Kenneth does have good acting skills, but he lacks the aura that Bobby has, which has made Bobby into the actor is he today. Bobby can be serious, but it seems like theres always a side of him that humorous. Kenneth on the other hand, just acts out his part and that's it. Theres no .. bam! in the acting. Bobby brings out the character he plays and more. I would prefer Bobby over Kenneth

I've seen Kenneth in SLII and I'm really impressed with his acting in it. Sometimes he is a bit forced, but it helps that he has such a cheeky face. I can certainly see him doing well in comedy but I don't think anyone can replace Bobby.

Actually I don't think anyone should carry the title of being the next so and so because everyone is different.

i always support Kenneth~ since 1st c him on scene~~ haha~ hope he really can b no.1 brother in TVB in one day~ or asap~ haha~ he hv his special acting skill which can act in various kind of characters~ good luck to him lah~~ haha~

Kennth is really highly rated now a days so its not lont until be comes one of the top actors in TVB but bobby au yeang level? right now i would say he isnt there.
He can do alot of different type of characters
but humor wise he still lacks something, his comic acting is usually him being really cute and opening his eyes really wide whe nhe speak.
which bobby doesnt do cuz he is known for being the funny man.
but serious wide kenneth got the bobby potential like in Great Four. i compared his serious to Bobby;s in FH amd it was almost the same.
so if keenth can improve on his humor side then im sure he can get to that same level bobby created.

I think TVB is finally recognizing Kenneth after so long. He's got more roles since ITA and I love Bobby! I love watching his series, he just seems really cheerful and all. I can't really see Kenneth as the next Bobby. They're both really different :S

How can you compare Kenneth to Bobby. He can never replace Bobby. I really don't like his acting. He is soooooooooooooooo annoying.

Bobby and Kenneth's acting are in different leagues so its hard to compare. I'ld say that kenneth improved a lot since he first started and he does well particularly in comedy. I really enjoyed watching SL2 even with the absence of Raymond (surprise surprise) and I even enjoy SL2 better than SL itself due to the awesome kenneth-ella chemistry.

But I mean Brother 1? He might have a chance.

If Raymond didn't go to singing, he's definitely #1 in terms of status/ experience. But now that he's gone, he cannot focus on filming like the rest so he'll only have 1-2 series per year. As a fan, I also admit that his recent works does not impress me as much as say, his old work did. Sammul is also out of the picture considering he's not a signed TVB artist.

If Kenneth gets it right, he has big chances coming up with those open gaps. He just needs the right opportunity. I have a feeling that Ron's TVB come-back will display serious improvement in his acting skills since Wayne Lai thought highly of him recently after filming with Ron.

As good of an actor as Kenneth is and he is improving more and more but I don't think that he can be the next Bobby.

No way, Bobby is my favorite actor in TVB of all time. how can Kenneth replace him. He doesn't have the Bobby size and humorous voice

I like Kenneth and its great that hes getting the recognition and being promoted to male lead but I don't think hes at Bobby's calibre yet! Not even sure that he will ever get there!
