She was born in a normal family & living with his parents & brothers in housing estates. She worked hard in her studies & in the summer holidays while she was in college, she met the handsome, humourous Gor Tak(Bosco). He was love on first sight for her & Tak was attracted by her gentleness & beauty so they fell in love. But Tak's mum Gor Bik(Liza) was a strong & able Chief Editor of a Magazine. She thought highly of herself & thought that Chi Kiu(Vivien) didn't match Tak so she didn't allow them to be together. She gave Tak a lesson saying that he was young, he has to make friends with more girls & then choose a suitable one later on. Besides, different family background created a gap in the understandings of both families. So if he had to choose a wife, he had to choose one he loved dearly & she could also help him in his career. He couldn't just love blindly. Tak was a filial son & he didn't want to go against her mum so they finally broke up sadly. Chi Kiu knew that she would be faithful & waited for Tak but she was understanding & didn't want Tak to feel bad. So apparently she was happy to accept the break up but she was still waiting for Tak so even there's someone who tried to pursuit her, she found it hard to accept them. A few years later, Chi Kiu met Tak again but he was already married with Chow Lai Man(Myolie). She was sad because she was waiting for him silently all these years. But now she could only bless him. Although they couldn't be lovers, they still keep their friendly relationship. Until problems arose in Tak's marriage, he often confided to her about it, so the love between them rekindled. Tak tried hard to control his feeling & she just let it go naturally, supporting Tak in every way. (Translated by annie083)
Tak(Bosco) couldn't bear the fight between his mum & his wife, he lost his direction. At that time Chi Kiu(Vivien) couldn't control her love to Tak after so many years, Tak was really impressed with her....but still hesitated for hurting Lai Man(Myolie). On the other hand, Tak's best friend But Ping Fan(Benz) was trying every means to persuade Tak to leave his mum Gor Bik(Liza) & go for his own ideal. Actually they were lovers before Bosco was married to Myolie but Liza didn't allow them to be together & so they broke up. They met again after Bosco & Myolie's marriage. Think she was very understanding & a nice girl according to her character profile. I really feel sorry for her waiting silently for Bosco all these years! Vivien's pretty as always.. she didn't get the Pageant award for nothing.. Her acting and esp her Cantonese has improved a lot..compared to her previous works, she's way better here.

She has improved her Cantonese, but not her facial expressions in acting... but her character seems to be serious so it's ok

i most definitely agree with you. she improved her cantonese, before it wasnt as fluent. but the only problem i have with her is her facial expressions. they're so bland. she looks too serious sometimes.

I'm currently on episode thirteen and there hasn't been much screen time for her yet. So far she seems like a strong, independent, woman, and yet beautiful and wealthy. I'm sure later on she will act as a third party in the love triangle between, Bosco and Myolie. I must admit she is very pretty.

she is very pretty in this series but her acting is still mediocre. It's hard to be good at acting if you can't speak the language properly, and for her, she still needs to work on her cantonese.

You know what I must say her acting has improve in this series but not her pronuciation.....it still sucks!!!she plays her role so well till it makes ppl wanna go right infront of her and b*tchslap her....especially the ending part in eps 15....when she came to the Gor's house and told Myolie everything.....this is the ONLY action I think she did right eventhough the way she said it makes her looks like a slut but whatever since Myolie would know it sooner or later so why not make it sooner???but the rest of her action for example seducing Bosco,getting on Myolie nerves,wooing a man that she knows is already married etc....has really cross the LIMIT!!!If I was Myolie....I would difinitely give her a hard slap right on the face....and say "F*ck off,whore!!!" but too bad TVB's scripwriter has not much of an imgination like me lol but whatever it is a really detestable character I must say......boohooo!!!*thumbs down*

lol.. wow.. there are some really strong feed backs here.. i agree tat she's a real b*t*h in this drama..but tat's teh charater.. in an ironic way..when an actress is playing a bitchy or evil role..well..basically an antagonist role.. the more u hate her.. this means the better she is in delivering da role..lol...
i really like her in this drama.. well like as in like her acting and all.. she's really improved tremendously...her canto..acting..expressions..everything..she really carried her sophisticated role really well..can't wait for more of her scenes..

lol...I can tell BBgirl is a really big boscolie fan... ><"" sounds so harsh on athena... a bit too in the story. no need to be so mad about everything. anywayss, yea, she's "kinda" evil in this story;; like when she deliberately goes to bosco's house and tells myolie everything. But then I felt her acting improved quite a lot. I disagree with BBgirl though, i think her pronounciation has improved a LOTT. She's doing really good for someone that's mando =="" And you can't really blame everything on vivien about the breakup, it's partly bosco's fault as well. If someone really loves someone a lot, no matter what one does, they won't be easily affected. Partly Bosco's fault to be affected so easily as well.

I don't really hate her......actually Vivien's character(Athena) was a victim herself long before Man's(Myolie's) existence! She listened to Ophelia & went abroad to study but found out that Kyle was married when she was back. At the beginning she had no intention of breaking their marriage .....when Kyle confided to her about his problems with his mum & his wife, she always tried to console him & reminded him to go back to his wife. When they met more & more, her feeling towards Kyle was getting stronger & stronger, she realized that she had once lost him & it was a mistake, she just grasped tight of the opportunity hoping to be with Kyle again! And that's natural & logical! I don't mean that it's right for her to do that but feeling is feeling......which is very hard to control & be rational in real situation... esp. when her love towards Kyle was always there & hadn't changed!
Think it's not fair to just blame Vivien alone, if Kyle's & Man's love was strong, no one could ever break into their marriage! The situation was : they still doubted & didn't trust each other too much. Actually Kyle still had feeling for Athena so he didn't reject her. And that's the fact! If Kyle rejected Athena more firmly in the first place, nothing would have happened!
But in epi.17 & 18, both Man & Kyle realized what they really wanted....! Think they had to thank Athena's intervention to make them look seriously into the situation & found that they really missed each other's company.

I thought she improved in this series from the previous series she had done in the past. I wouldn't like it if she got in the way between Myolie and Bosco's relationship. I haven't watch those parts yet, but I heard that she will get between Myolie and Bosco's relationship. I would totally hate her for that.

yah i think her acting really did improve. i remember when i first saw her in the series sunshine heartbeat and it was really bad. but her character it was so icky. like she had a strong career women role then it would revert to helpless female. such a contradiction.

First thought came to mind when seeing her appear on screen is the innocent type of girl she played, but later, I learned that she still loves Kyle, and will do anything to win his heart. I really think she improved in here, but still needs more work on the language. She hates Liza because of her bossy voice, telling her to go to college and get a higher education. Liza paid for her tuition to study oversees in Canada. Because of the long distance from Hong Kong to Canada, she knows that she can't see Kyle for quite a long time. When returning, she puts the blame on Liza and hates Myolie for stealing and marrying her first love.

I disagree here. I don't feel that she was a victim, she's more of a culprit. The flashback made it feels like she is an innocent and considerate girl, but you don't know this since it wasn't detailed.
I don't think you can justify her actions by blaming it on Kyle. Even when Kyle signed the divorce papers, you think Athena had nothing to do with it? I know she probably does love Kyle and Kyle is part of the blame for the divorce, but Athena is definitely be biggest culprit. She pretty much ignited every flame as her intentions throughout were clear. She wants to do everything in her power to break up the marriage and have Kyle to herself.

I didn't really like her voice, but I got over that. Overall I kind of like her character in the beginning before she started to become "evil" her acting is not that bad at least her facial expression is decent compared to other female actresses.

I never justify what she's done was right (refer to my thread earlier, post #38) but the fact is that if there's nothing wrong with Kyle's & Man's marriage, no one could interfere them or lead them to a divorce! It takes two to tangle! It's not solely Vivien's fault!
