Kelly definitely should sing the theme song and it will probably bring back something for her singing career since she hasn't been that popular these few years. If not there is also Susanna Kwan but it might be weird considering she is in HOG2. But a female SINGER should sing the theme song, not male and not a TVB actress singing.
It seems like Kelly is at that point in the career where she has essentially reached her "peak" in the music career and is making the transition to movies to prolong the career (a la Sammi).
And I definately agree with everyone, Kelly is the perfect match for the series themesong. She has the image that matches with the series and the status for such a grand series, not to mention her dad works in the jewelry business. Yes, even if Kelly can't do it, it really SHOULD be a female singer..(Sammi or Miriam). As for Susanna, great singer, no doubt..but for some reason, I think that the age makes a difference. Like it worked for HOG, because it's a more big family orientated series. But for JS, it's a bit more chic..

I don't think TVB ever intended to promote Myolie as a "singer" though? I remember back when Lady in Red came out, TVB did mention that they'll help Myo release an album, but that was only after she got praised by Mark Lui and Justin Lo. I think Bernice was more recognized as a singer back then, and TVB is willing to push her forward in terms of singing. But personally, I don't think Myo is ready to become a "singer" yet.
I also think Linda Chung will be the next actor-turn-singer. If TVB is going to promote someone, it will be her. Heard that she's already in talks with a record company?
True, TVB didn't intend to promote Myo as a singer, but from "Lady in Red" she sort just stood out with her singing and the praise helped. TVB definately tried to push Bernice. I'm a fan of Bernice as well, but I will say that Myolie is definately the best female singer at TVB (like not counting Susanna).
But I disagree, I think Myo is READY to be a singer. Her live performances are very steady, even better than some current singers. I think the duet with Vincent helped to up her profile as a "singer"
boa_fan929, definately agree with you on Leo. His songs have been boring for a while..and well..you guys know what I think about his personality

But then again, not sure that his voice is suitable for other genres?

Denise's new songs 韵律泳 does sound like "Muk Mun" but it doesn't have the punch/impact that the slower latter .
I don't think the two songs sound alike..maybe cuz they're both slow, ballad types and Denise doesn't do many of those..but the new song definately cannot compare to 木紋 because of precisely what you said..it just doesn't have that emotional impact that 木紋 has has nor does it compare to my other Denise fav, 如無意外.
Btw, guys, here are the fan tallies of Week 1 - 10 playrates for CRHK (Credit: Coolman Forum)
Top 5 Songs:
1. Khalil Fong《Love Song》 (226)
2. FAMA《日出而作》 (175)
3. Prudence Lau《大開色界》 (161)
4. Justin Lo《紅地氈》 (149)
5. Stephanie Cheng《Me vs Me》 (143)
* I would leave a spot in CRHK Top 10 for Jan Lamb, but a bit surprised to see Prudence, Justin, and Stephanie's songs in the Top 5 so far. Khalil's "Love Song" has a lot of airplays, it beats the second place by a lot.
Male Singer:
1. Khalil Fong (235) 冠軍:Love Song
2. Jan Lamb (233) 冠軍:我地大家
3. Justin Lo (149) 冠軍:紅地氈
4. Eric Suen (98) 冠軍:Here I Go
5. Hacken Lee (92) 冠軍:再見演奏廳
* Surprised that Juno isn't in the Top 5 for male singers..and that Justin is STILL there
Female Singer:
1. Kay Tse (172) 冠軍:鍾無艷
2. Prudence Lau (161) 冠軍:大開色界
3. Joey Yung(151) 冠軍:Lucky Star
4. Stephanie Cheng (143) 冠軍:Me vs Me
5. Ivana Wong (125)
Since Kay's plug "奇女俠的退休生活" wasn't popular, netizens are saying it's going to be hard for her to battle Joey at year's end. Once again, surprised to see Stephanie's name, would have thought that Kary would be there instead.
Group:
1. FAMA (175) 冠軍:日出而作
2. Hotcha (62)
3. 24 Herbs (53)
4. 野仔 (43)
5. EO2 (36)
