imo, i think leila is a better actress. yes, she has been in the biz longer - but that is not the reason why she's a great actress. I think she has improved tremendously throughout each and everyone of her series, and it sucks tht tvb doesn't care cuz she's not "with" tvb. i also think she's so sweet and beautiful =)

as for bernice, i'm not a big fan of hers. she seems nice. i've only seen a couple of her series and i can't really judge because those series were from when she first started..and she wasn't really good...-imo.

As for Leila, she hasnt left my any impression on her yet, neither of her shows appeal to me.

Leila!

I think Leila acts ALOT better than Bernice. I'm kind of okish towards Bernice , she needs to improve her acting more. I don't really think she improved much in Steps cuz she's kind of being herself really (dancing... bubbly person...).

I can't choose between the too. Both Bernice and Leila are my favorite actresses. I can't really choose between the too. Both are very good actresses and both sing very well. I wanted to see them so bad in a series together and now I finally get a chance too. They are going to film an ancient series together. I can't wait to watch it.

I choose Leila. Bernice's acting is still a bit stiff in my oppinion and her facial expressions don't look very natural. Leila's more skilled in terms of acting probably because she's more experienced. I haven't heard any of Leila's songs yet so i can't choose when it comes to singing. Overall, i just like Leila more.

LEILA!! I like both actually, so it was a hard decision.. but I'd choose Leila, because IMO she's got both the looks and the talent. she's a pretty good actress, I'm not saying she's the best or anything cuz she's still got room for improvement. but after seeing her in Family Link I think she's improved quite a lot already =]

Bernice is pretty, she's got this charisma that makes ppl fall for her, but she really still has to work on her Chinese & her acting.. sometimes I feel that she overacts and it just turns me off =\

BERNICE ♥ for sure!
bernice can sing, act, dance, you name it and she's able to do it!
she's also very smart etc and is fluent in more than one language.
although i must admit she's not good at reading chinese, SHE'S TRYING!
she perserveres and at the same time, sets a good example for others because she doesnt try to expose herself into any REVEALING *cough stuff.
one thing i love about her is her smile.

In my opinion, they are both pretty good and are pretty underrated. Leila is underrated greatly I feel, she has pretty good acting in comparison to people her age. She has the experience to back her up, but it's just a shame that she isn't as big as some other stars. And yea Bernice is improving, I'm not saying she's super good, but I think she deserved that award more than Kate Tsui (just my opinion). I wish I could see Leila in more dramas and such as a main lead soon.

bernice liu, are you kidding me, she is nowhere near leila tong's acting caliber. the real performer is the latter and rightly so, there is a huge gap in their acting development. leila appears like an ordinary girl but when you see her act, she is dominant onscreen and hard to look away from. bernice has the hotter face but she acts so overpretentious from her gestures and voice, so staged that it waters down my fandom. i've noticed bernice's singing lacks fluidity, a deep voice without the quality, listen to her long enough, and you'll find it monotone and vulgar as i did. leila got crisp, mature and urban vocals, she knows what is stimulating to our ears.

BERNICE!!!!! Leila is nothing compared to her Bernice is like a goddess compared to Leila. Shes amazing makes more money and acts better. She can dance sing basicly do anything. Plus Tvb doesnt promote Leila as much shes been like a nobody for a while and rescently she comes up a little bit not even as much as bernice has. Bernice just enters tvb and starts blooming like to the ceiling shes amazing and leila is no compatition.

LMFAO Leila cannot be compared to Bernice. There is such a huge difference in acting skills and beauty. It makes me laugh when someone says Bernice is better at acting than Leila. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but come on, to be honest, Leila is the better actress. Just face it. Leila's skills are so captivating and I agree, its hard to look away when she's onscreen. Her appearance is just so believable and her charisma just shines through. Anyways, i'm not here to bash Bernice (since they r going to be in a series together), like others have done to Leila here, but I'm gonna have to agree with satchel&buck, Leila FTW.

Oh and just to add on, Leila is not a contracted artist, so TVB doesn't promote her much, BUT that does that mean she is a bad actress! She doesn't need tojoin the beauty pageant or show off more skin or be uncomfortable with herself to climb up the ladder. TVB's lucky to even have Leila film 1-2 series for them a year because china/mainland are treating her more like gold than tvb has ever done. As well, TVB's first priorities are their fully contracted artist. its obvious the noobs are getting the promos. Get the info straight.

Haha...actually this kind of comparision thread is biased...u support for who u love, who u idolises, so u don even care abt their talents..to me, both are great in their own ways though I don't deny tht I'm a fan of Bernice. But I like Leila as well...

obviously, leila. she can play both evil & good roles. plus, she blew me away in "the last breakthrough" she cried convincingly on the airplane.

bernice needs to work on her crying & etc. she has yet to perform a breakthrough performance like leila. bernice earns most of her money from functions & commercials & ads.
i don't see bernice in many tvb dramas like myolie or tavia.

I actually like both of them, but both for some different reasons ^^. But overall I like Leila more.

As for why I like Leila more, it's based on acting skills mainly. Over the years Leila has improved a lot in acting and she proved she can handle all kinds of roles. I especially love her role in WAD, it was really a mature role which I didn't expect from 'cute' Leila ^^ so yeah she pulls it of very well and that's why I'm her fan! Her singing is nice, but I rather have her focusing on acting. Like with Sammul, I think both will be more famous for their performances in series.
& I also like Leila's personality from what I've seen in clips ^^

& I like Bernice mostly because of her personality. Like she's very bubbly & funny. It's really hard to hate her or not to notice her. She goes to a lot of functions etc. I have to say she did improve on her acting, but sometimes it's still average or a bit above average. I'd hope to see more emotional scenes from Bernice, like totally the opposite of her personality ^^

leila has been in the entertainment industry for a very long time. so her acting is far better than bernice.
but bernice has her plus points too. she has a sort of bubbly personality that appeals to people n she dances well too.

i haven't heard leila's singing so i can't comment on that but bernice's voice is quite unique.
(she can go quite off-tune when singing live though)

OMGOSH. So hard to pick. I love both girls, therefore I pick both. Though I must say, to an extent, Leila is the better actress. But, like my siggie, I SUPPORT BOTH BERNICE AND LEILA!

Leila is hands down a better actress, but she's sooooo cute that I have a hard time being convinced that she's an adult (let alone 26). If you put her in a high school, she'd blend right in. Bernice is cute, sophisticated, beautiful, all rolled into one, but she needs to improve her Cantonese and work on her acting. I'd say Bernice > Leila for now.

Leila is a better actress but she is more experienced than bernice. her acting is more natural.

in terms of looks its kinda hard. i think they are both as pretty. Bernice is the beautiful type and Leila is very cute. kinda hard to say who I prefer.

I came to love both as I watched both on screen. Bernice acting isn’t as well as Leila, but she is improving also the roles that she has are enjoyable to watch; her dancing skills are undeniably great & I love her dancing. I love Leila’s acting, she portray her characters very well & she is absolutely adorable. I like them both.

These are one of those pairs of actresses that you can't compare because they are both good in their own rights.

Leila is fantastic at acting and her singing is awesome. She can really portray different types of characters well, no matter what their personality of what genre of series. Even though she's quite new at singing, her singing is still really good and you can really feel the emotion in her songs. Not to mention that she is so cute!

Bernice has come a very long way since her first roles. With every single series you can see that she is improving and her acting skills are now above average. She works hard in each series to portray the character as best as she can. Her singing is good (although she needs to work on live performances more i think) and she can dance.

Both of these actresses are good in their own terms. Too bad Leila is underpromoted and hardly gets any exposure in TVB. But she's making her own way through various other paths and still has a large fanbase.

I like both of them but is I had to choose, Leila's cute looks makes her my choice.

because i've never actually thought of them on the same level of appeal before,
bernice is like bold and sexy, very womanly,
while leila to me is more cute and bickerish, very girlish, which i love.
so beauty-wise, i can't compare since it's like practically two different topics,

For Bernice, I do not have a very good impression in her for VOH her very first drama i think, cos' her acting thr was realli abit annoying. However, her acting is improving and i start to be positive towards her. I love her singing.
