Summary:
The story of this series uses jade industry as its background so the theme of this story will use jade as its focus.
The story will cross over the 20s, 40s from the last century and contemporary(ie, 2003) to bring out a story using different people from different time-period and of their complicate life stories.
There is a mystical antique piece of jade called "Wo Hop Yee Sin" that will affect different characters in this series such as Flora chan, Damien Lau, Niki Chow, Kevin Cheng, Stephen Au, Maggie Siu, Michelle Yip, Mark Kwok and Michael Tong(Mark Kwok, Michael Tong and Michelle Yip are just guest-starring, and they'll enact their story in the 1920s).
If anyone wonders why this series theme is so similar to Maggie Cheung and Lawrence Ng's jade series, that's b/c this is the one, similar one that was featured in the promotional tv-presentation a while ago.
Flora Chan plays a jewelry designer who will have a relationship with Kevin Cheng and Damien Lau.
Producer Wong Sum Wai said she went to Myanmar to do researching for this series and called jewel dealers to sponsor b/c there are going to be a couple jewelry conventions and auctions later that need real jade stones. People could tell the stones are fake if they don't use real ones. So, they'll have body guards to guard them later.
Niki Chow plays Damien Lau's daughter who will also have a relationship with Kevin Cheng. Maggie Siu plays a jewelry designer and an assistant to Damian Lau and liking Damian also.ASIANFANATICS DISCLAIMER:

Production of this series shoot a scene today talking about Flora Chan whose a jewelry designer meeting Damien Lau whose a businessman that sell jewelry at a convention. Amanda Boll guest-stars as one of the models showcasing the jewels.

Do they split one episode in 2-3 parts or something, each part of another period?
That is quite a new experiment for TVB then, but it'd be really confusing.

Episode 1 was really good so far. I'm anxious to see who Flora will go out with. Hawick and Kevin are so cute in this series!

Read this isn't better than watching it.. you have to watch it to get the excitement. |

i've seen episode 1-4 so far, and i have to admit that it's really good so far.
the theme (jade) is quite new and i'm learning a lot about jades now.
kevin cheng is really cute in this series. i didn't think that he and flora would match so well, but then they do (u have to see it to believe it).
on a side note, the jade "Wo Hop Yee Sin" doll thing reminds me of "triangel" from Triumph in the Skies, because it's like a match-making/fate type of thing. anyone else thinks so??? it's kinda funny because in both cases, it's Flora who believes in this type of things.

Watched ep 1-4 so far and I must say it's one of the better serials of the last 6 months. Too bad TVB serials have the tendency to go into a slump after the first halve of the series. Slowing pace and getting predictable. Hope it won't happen this time.
I think Kevin Cheng is doing very well this time. Seems he's loosened up, acting more freely, with more expression. In earlier roles he came over as a bit wooden and unsure.
Flora seems a bit out of place, maybe it's because I'm not used to seeing her in such a “frivolous” role. No offence, but she seems a bit too “mature” for the role. But later on when she has a relationship with Damien’s character, then it might look less awkward.

well, there isnt really a "themesong".. it starts out with la la la and a bunch of words like that.. and then near the end, theres a couple lyrics. so yeah, flora sings them, but it doesnt really constitute as a themesong. hope that helps!

hehe just finished watchin ep 12 .. it was so funny where damien drove flora's dad and he was talking about flora's bf .. then when they got to the restaurant , hawick & flora was there and her dad didnt see her bf yet and he was like saying that he's late nd a bad bf or whatever while everyone knew that he's here becos its damien lol .. then hawick told floras dad and he drank tea then start choking lol .. hmms i wonder if that women which claims to be niki's mom is like damien gf or wifee ? he cheatin on flora ?
