when filming started and also when they announced a series as such was to be made, I didnt list this series as one of my must-sees. How wrong was i....
i am up to chapter 7, i like the storyline so far and can forsee many memorable scenes yet tearshedding scenes for when i do finish the series. Its interesting to see how the story develops on fala, linda and hana..focusing on the happier and also sad moments of their lives...
For me personally speaking, whenever a series has this kinda effect on me, it would be a good series for me. The theme song is a fitting tribute to the series too

Me too! When news of this series first came out, I wasn't really interested because a series about running seems boring. But I was hooked on the show in the first few episodes! I think everyone did really well here and the plot and dialogue is well-written. I haven't seen a series like this that dares to talk about the things the series raises up. I like it that the series tries to give hope, especially in such a hopeless society. I really enjoy the various relationships explored and the cast has good chemistry together. The themesong is really well-done too though it will be overshadowed by other more happy themesongs as the year goes by.

I really love this series! All the characters were so well played & their interactions made the series so lively & entertaining!
Think the theme is good.....there's always hope in this world as long as you do it in the right way!
But for those who do wrongs, they have to suffer the consequences!
It's fresh that tvb was introducing the profession of masonry(stone carving for gravestones...etc) I found it quite interesting to learn how the gravestone was processed & prepared for a grave & how the workshop really looked like!!!
A salute to all the artists in the series.......esp. Kent & Lo Yuen Yan, Steven & Linda,........ & everyone who took part in this series. This is one of best series that I thoroughly enjoyed lately! Really sad that it will end this Friday!

Didn't expect to like this series, but it turned out to be very good. The acting is a lot better than I expected considering how we have Linda and Fala.

I saw this series ad on TVB and was quite interested but when I found out it was called A Journey Called Life and that it was about 'life' and such I was a bit hesitant thinking it would turn out like Life Art but I decided to continue watching anyway and I'm glad because I really liked this series.

I think this series is very good with a meaningful storyline about life. Everyone chooses a desirable path and leads a different lifestyle. Even though they will encounter challenges along the road, they have other people's support. I believe words can influence a person to change. The message is saying that life is like a roller coaster with ups and down. A person can smile, and the next day will feel sad. I notice that Linda's role and her step-mother's role changes from bad to good, while Fala choose to marry a wealthy man. This is a character's perference.
An important symbol I noticed is the rainbow. Its colors were brilliant as if painted on the sky's canvas. When Steven saw the rainbow, he wanted to find out what is on the other end. Life is filled with hopes, dreams, fantasy. One must never give up in order to achieve that dream.

I also liked this series because every character had a very different personality even if they were related like for example Fat Boss was a generous person but his son was greedy.
Ga Ga went off the rails because of family problems, her father acted like a weakling and was too scared to say anything and her step mum was crazy even though she did have her reasons.
On was a sensible, mature boy but Vicky was greedy and could only think about becoming rich just like Roy whilst their youngest sister studied and was quite.
The name of the series really suites the show because so much had happened.

I didn't have any expectations when I started this series. I think that's the reason why it turned out better than I thought. I have to the admit, the beginning was a bit slow for me but the pace picked up very quickly. The storyline seem to flow very well. I enjoyed watching both families (Steven and "Fat Boss") interact with each other, they are literally one big family.

Initially, I had reservations about AJCL being a good series mainly because of its female cast, and Kent being an unknown actor to me. But now I love this series, a true keeper for my TVB series collection.
Its very title, A Journey called Life, sounds ponderous if not a little grandstanding, almost religious-like - a title more appropriate for a bible study group or a self-awareness group discussion than for tv entertainmet. Its Chinese title is even worse, so cliché, so uninspired.
AJCL indeed constitutes the theme of this series, but as a title it is far too broad and way too impersonal to reflect its very touching and intimate story. Conversely, the theme song, A Little Story, brilliantly captured the heart of the story; a story that is indeed little in the scheme of things but monumental to the cast of characters involved. Surprisingly, the series turns out to be both entertaining and thought provoking; a very rare combination in a low-budget tv series. Rarer still are its well-written script, its attention to character development and interactions, and last but not least, its marvelous cast.
Understand that first and foremost, AJCL was written to entertain, but if at the same time, the audience got more out of it than entertainment, then so much the better. What I like most about this series is how the series incorporated morality, society ills, and tragedy into a heartwarming and delightful series without resorting to pompous moralization.
Unlike most TV series which are plot driven, AJCL is character driven. The main characters are meticulously written with their own distinctive personalities & idiosyncrasies, ambitions & desires, morals and values. Even the two Kam Sek employees’ characterization was well sketched out. Why did the death scenes of the characters so heart wrenching to watch? Because the characters touched us, the audience. And when an audience is touched by the characters, the series becomes memorable, as AJCL is to me.

I thought this series was a pretty good one. I actually enjoyed a lot. I love Steven and Linda in this series. They have went through so many things together until the end of the series. The loss of their baby and then having another baby in the end. I was so happy for them when I heard that they were going to have another baby.

I haven't been really that glued to a series since Heart Of Greed, but this was actually pretty good. I missed the first few episodes cos I didn't realise it had started and I wasn't that interested then, but the whole Hana and GaGa thing being bad girls kinda caught my interest lol cos it just kinda seemed to appeal to a younger audience too. There was a lot of drama and crying scenes - my kinda series ;] lol

A Journey Called Life is my favourite series so far this year. I had low expectations of the series and it just wowed me when I started watching it. It's entertaining, has moral values and deals with a lot of real issues in society. The characters are all well-written, as is the dialogue. Linda's acting has improved heaps in this series - I don't dislike her anymore. And AJCL has kinda changed my perspective about life.

I liked this series as well! I think the title really suited this series because you can see the character's life changing especially Linda's. She went from a rebellious woman to a more responsible, mature woman. There weren't any or much drags in this series which is good cause it's not like a typical TVB series.
Even though the ending is kinda predictable, it was a happy one at least but Fala's death was a pity in my opinion. So overall, this series was good. Would recommend it.

I think this series is wonderful. It's very real and engaging, includes convincing tragedies and issues, but is at the same time sweet and bright. I think we need more of these kinds of series. Average on the surface but is quite deep underneath.

To my surprise I thought this was going to be a very boring series but I actually enjoyed it.
I thought Linda Chung performed well as the 'loud punk girl' other than her usual characters. Linda is growing and she is doing well. I was actually surprise how well Steven Ma performed too in the crying scene, I really felt for him. This is a really good series with a lot of life moral issues.
I really enjoyed Steven and Linda's chemistry, Kent Cheng and Steven Ma's chemistry. There
was not much I didn't like except Dai Fan's character whom I hate to the bones; Steven Ma's youngest sister-annoying and couldn't help the fact that Fala Chen's pronunciation still gets me but, overall, a well done series.

I loved this series! I'm hoping for a sequel, which I doubt since there was no cliffhanger at the end. If they do, they can make a whole new storyline and have Steven and Linda play as parents in the sequel. But I think there isn't gonna be one since there was already a happy ending... Atleast Steven, Kent, and Linda are making a new series though.

Didn't have much expectations before watching this serial but i was really impressed by the acting of the cast and the storyline. Kent Cheng was just amazing, he really made the show enjoyable.
Steven and Linda made a good couple and the crying scenes by the cast were one of the best i have ever seen. Totally a underrated show, certainly one of TVB 's best in recent memory.
